My settings are still 1 + 2 + 3 And I uploaded the wrong file. But that doesn't matter. I should have the finished one up in a few hours. EDIT: This file I was trying to upload last time. Back at NP.

I know I said I'd have the movie up before I went to sleep. But I underestimated how timeconsuming getting the sandworm battle *just right* would be. I'm going to take a nap and work on this later. You can download what I have so far here. This location is non-permanent. It should go back to being the nerdparadise one again soon. Just as soon as my partner in crime tells me the new password. ^_^;; EDIT: Oh yeah, I noticed I got my spiffy new title. Thanks to whomever did that.

Just because something is faster doesn't mean it's publish worthy. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1475

Update: I'm up to the room with four tangelas. I'll post the file when I beat the boss. I redid parts of the overworld and dungeon 2. I was wrong about the dash boots for some reason I was off by a factor of 2... :X Also, dying doesn't help. I couldn't even get within 150 frames (mostly because there's another sand thing that I have to kill.) So far I'm four seconds faster and 15 arrows pointier (I suppose that's the adjective), but my wallet's 35 rupees lighter (because I'm not going to switch to the boomerang until after the second dungeon now because I'm using the Bow + Arrows against the sandworms. But between Tower of Hera and Hyrule Castle Take 2, I'm positive that I can get 40 rupees) BTW, rupee testing is done, it's faster to grab both the chests in the Dark World than to Gamble 3 times. But only by a little bit (~150 frames). If you think grabbing the chests would be much less entertaining than magically getting 3X300 rupees in the gambling game just say so. I'll forfiet 2 and a half seconds for the sake of entertainment.

Does the Whelk battle give you experiance? If so you probably could kill off Vicks and Wedge for triple experience on Terra.

Hello, and thanks. I'm kinda iffy on updating this run. Mostly because I want to concentrate on the full run. If anyone else wants to implement it fell free to. Plus I didn't put any work into this run at all. And I really didn't expect it to be published. If anyone else wants a go at it, hey, free publish. I tested out the glitch, it's performed by going down the stairs with all four directions held, then going back up them, you should glitch through the last step. Happy Running.

If you look on the map that room is right next to the destination and seems like it would be quicker. Is there something about the glitch that wont work right?
Yes, If you glitch from there you'll glitch to the room directly to the right of that one. Unfortunately this room as a doorway leading left, so you can't glitch into the wall.

One example: You can hit the sandworms (in 2nd palace, lightworld) with the bow and with the sword. (which should be faster than just with the sword)
Thanks for the tip ^_^

Because I haven't posted an update in two days (and I don't have one ready yet) here's a status update. I'm currently hacking memory locations so I don't have to play the game through to test stuff. I have a small list of memory locations, but I need more (I pretty much have all the item's locations down, but certain things still confuse me like the bottles (but I don't need to test those really but it'd be nice to publish something on GameFAQs after I'm done)) I've have tested Dark World Gambling vs. Light World Gambling, and appartently there are no 300 rupee chests in the dark world Gambling hole, so it's usless. But the Light World Gambling hole is only ~800 frames off path total once (200 rupee profit) and and extra 700 everytime after that. (2200 frames for 600 rupees). I haven't gotten the Dash Boots to work yet (I have the memory location of the item, but apparently you also need to enable them somehow) so I can't test the 300 rupee chests. (I tested the Gambling with a saved file I found online, but he had already snagged the chests.) Also interesting to note, the Magic Mirror's memory location has an extra item (not unusual per se, the Flute, the Bow and the Magic Powder do this too.) it doesn't have a name and it looks like a map. I wonder what it did once upon a time.

I have no thunder to steal. ^_^ And a 90 minute finish is what I'm aiming for. I will feel rather useless if a 90 minute human run does exist and matches mine.

Can you turn around at the last frame and get knocked backwards?

That is not possible. However, you can hex edit files together, in the manner you describe, by hand. Get a good hex editor and read up on the file format specs. (They're in the FAQs at Bisqwit's site) Happy Hacking.

That so he can immediately go to the most difficult set of levels, the other 3 sets are simply easier copies of this one.

Yes, that's the idea of these movies. But you don't exactly need FA for things like running. ;)
Meh, I find that in games where you have to do alot of stuff quickly (ie all interesting games) it's more irritating to switch to and from paused than to just do everything in frame advance.

The speed settings you use are not that great either. I did my first Mystic Defender run using 20% speed the first levels, then I used 6% to the end. In the second version I released I used frame-by-frame movement only. This allowed me to shave off 24 seconds! That was very enjoyable for me, and I don't think people who watched it disliked it either.
Well, you may enjoy using frame advance, but I don't. Unless I have to get something EXACTLY right, I hardly ever use FA, and when I do it bores me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the idea of these movies to get *everything* exactly right?
