I'm currently trying to optimize the 2nd boss. But I may have to do redo the second half of the dungeon pending some time tests with the gambling game and the chest collecting that I've not had time to do yet. I expect it to be released when it's done. And not a moment before.

Because I don't think it explicitly support recording from restart. I think he was referring to total movie length, not in game. But I wouldn't be surpised if you could shave off at least 8-10 minutes off the ingame completion. Because Teri's run was 27 minutes, but the realtime was 47 minutes long. At any rate you probably need to make sure that you at least match Teri on the escape parts. Otherwise you probably aren't getting published. (Even if you do use SNES9X)

If you don't mind me asking, what benchmark are you using. Because there isn't a 100% Super Metroid Run posted at this site. And if you're compairing it to the current legit world record then that isn't that much of an improvement. EDIT: I'm not knocking the current record holder, I'm just saying that on a movie of that length little stuff can add up quick.

Sprinting is faster in a straight line if it goes at least 3 Link lengths. If you have to do two Dashes at 90 degree angles then one of the two must be at least 4 Link lengths, (assuming there is nothing preventing your from moving diagonally) for sprinting to be faster. Stairs aren't included in the Length (obviously). But it's a surprisingly short distance.

After getting the leg of Yak you run forward for a split second. When you charge for the Phycho Dash for a long time (near frame 56xxx), you pause in front of one of the statues, could that have been avoided by starting your turn on the one before sooner? At frame 63xxx after you finish running that long way you could have taken the diagonal and saved some time if I'm not mistaken. Most of the places where you run backwards to slow down faster you can also run to the side (or up or down) and same some time. Looks great though.

And you keep your items with a New Game+ I found this out when I found out I had around 80 tabs lying around my 10th or so time through. ^_^

It's not that far out of the way though, I have to go to Dark World Kakariko for Dungeon 4. And that's 300 rupees each. So it really is a toss up. (Unless the gambling game gives you more than I thought)

I was going to do this after LttP. So it should be out around 2034. And I have to test it with Right+Left enabled. I haven't had a chance since the fix was uploaded.

I forgot. *shrug* I was too busy trying to get the key on the boomerang. About skipping a chest, I don't think I'll be able to collect another 410 rupees. I'll test the chests in the Dark World to see how many frames it takes to collect them both vs. only one. Because that's alot of drops and so far I've averaged around 5 frames slower per drop.

I think you missed the intention of the site. None of these are for world records. That would be stupid. Every video on this site is for entertainment purposes only.

Did not.

Actually, even better yet--why not just post .smv, .fmv, etc... files for runs that are more novelty runs (like this Zelda glitched run) so as not to waste so much time encoding and torrenting. I'm sure a good many people will agree with me that watching them from the emulators is way better quality anyway.
It's already published in the manner you describe when you submit it. So what would be the real difference between an accepted glitch movie and one that's still just submitted.

How come the queue still goes back to August of last year? It's been a long time since I've seen anything rejected and some of those have less than 50% approval.
I'm sure that the editors have better things to do with their time than just reject movies.

Yes, perhaps the part of the code that handles sound got got messed up, and is causing segfaults or infinite loops because of it.

The Ice Palace. And that's what I changed, so I can get the gold sword faster. EDIT: Stealth Update, because I hate double posting even though I am a consumate attention whore. The key isn't boomerangable -_-; I spent an hour trying to hook it in midair as it was falling down before I discovered this. Thanks for the laser tip. ^_^ The Big Key room you can't manipulate the time that those bowling balls spawn, they seem to spawn on set frames, (like the Chucks in Tubular where Viper had to wait nearly a half a second outside the level in his first run through.) Erm... yeah, not much for nearly a week. But I'm still alive. I swear.

That is incorrect. All weapons have the same two level timed hit range. EDIT: Sorry, I misunderstood.

I'm no longer planning on calling it glitchless. Just eliminating the game breaking glitches.

I'll use the levitation glitch, but not the Up+Down ones. And I'm not going to use the Death Mountain Decent either. Reason: Up+Down glitches to be useful in a speedrun require you to go places where you normally can't go, even with all the items. Same with Death Mountain Decent. However, the levitation glitch, although has a few uses that don't require you to go places where you wouldn't be able to go even if you had everything. Seems like splitting hairs. And it probably is.

You can just pick up bombs from any enemy that drops them. You don't have to get them from a chest. I can pick one up as I go through the Tower of Hera (in the pot on 3F). That'll take care of the one I need for the beginning of Crystal One. And they have bombs all over the place in #1. So I'm pretty much set for the rest of the game.

I haven't updated to the latest yet on this computer. And try going over a pit with the dash boots on autofire. ^_^ And I'll go from here with stab at end technique, because I've only 4 enemies that took more than one sword swing to kill. So it'll only save me around 16 frames. And I move slow enough as it is.

No more useless numbers at the end of the filename. Up to the entrance of the 2nd dungeon. Yeah, I know I'm slow at this. But still. Oh, I was mistaken, I didn't fire nothing once in the boss fight, so yey for that. The reason it took me so long was I was testing the Dash Boot's Physics. That and screwing around. ^_^ Time: 13:08

I've manipulated the Terrapin to only attack twice. They attacked at least 5 times in your video. How many frames slower? This is a few hours long and honestly it looks like a mistake when you don't get the timed attack. What's your fireball:jump damage ratio? (all 16 fireballs vs. a perfectly timed jump)

Just watched the video: *Caution Nitpick Zone* First battle. You can manipulate the Terrapins into not attacking as much. I've gotten it down to as little as 2 attacks. If you didn't know, there are two different levels of timed attacks. You seem to be doing the weaker version. The stronger version only has a 4 frame window, but the window is when the middle Mario hits the enemy for the jump, and when Mario's arm is passing the plane of his body for his punches. You should know exactly where all the windows for the attacks are because this is useful in luck manipulation, (but only a little as you only have 4 possibilities) You took a better route than I did to get the Save Block. Kudos. The jump is slower than the punch. And it's not useful except for the first part of the game. You probably shouldn't concentrate too much on it. You can land on the red rotating flower so that you're facing the correct way immediately. You didn't need to fight the Goomas after you got the Mushroom. See my remark on the different levels of timed hits. I already posted my remarks on the Hammer Bros. fight. You don't need to level up. And even if you did you probably could manipulate double or nothings at least. ^_^ Why bother equipping defensive items? Nothing can touch you until you fight Bowyer (I take that back, Mack's Flame wall, and drain too maybe.) Use physical attacks against Croco with Mallow (or even better, just defend). You can get a few more jumps in before you need to use a Honey Syrup and one jump is worth around 5 times one lightning strike. (But jumps vs. fireballs are questionable. I'd have to test it, but I think fireballs are faster. Mostly because Croco doesn't counterattack sometimes if you hit him with a fireball.) And you only need one of each item. You can get a freebie till the cows come home. Ah, you did start defending. *nod* In the Sewers, after you hit the switch you can jump on top of a ghost, run away and then jump up to the next level. Better shortcut then exiting. (Same technique to get to Land's End.) Just as a general question, what are you concentrating on Level up-wise? (I'd go for physical attacks across the board on Mario, and Magic on Mallow. But you seem to be getting HP (?!)) Just as a note, I think it'd be cooler to get all 100 coins. ^_^ Gaz, what a great name. Purple just like in Zim too. And has a tendancy for overkill too. Once you get the Super Jump you can Super Jump everything to death. And it'll be faster than just killing them all normal and boring like. But then again that can get pretty boring as well. It's probably quicker to let Booster catch you then pound him to death. (But then you don't get the Amulet... >.>)

Could you hex everything to one file? I'm kinda eager to watch everything from the beginning again. =D EDIT: Nevermind, I missed it in your last post.
