I didn't intend to offend Marhs but more point out the time as a reference...
I know. I just felt like poking fun at him anyway ;)

Yeah, I don't know that saying this run is "15 minutes (!) faster than Marsh's" is so impressive :P

Well, this was certainly a surprise! I've never played this game before, but it's not difficult to understand the movie. I can honestly say I was never bored for the entire half-hour. Very entertaining. One of my favourite things about the movie is the speed upgrades. It's exciting to see you blast through levels at nearly top speed. It's just too bad they are temporary :( I really couldn't notice any mistakes, even the "mistakes" you pointed out, which was admirable of you. So you have my vote. Great job as always!

Well...now I know what the hell that whole sequence was actually about (as far as the story concerning the big metroid saving Ripley). In one of your previous versions I was really confused about what was happening and why you had to take so much damage from mother brain. Only until I found out the glitch here did I know what you were doing. But do not be discouraged. I understand why you had to use it :) I too prefer the version without the Murder Beam.

I've never played this game before, but I enjoyed this movie nonetheless. Exciting and good usage of the environment. This movie gets a Yes vote from me.

I've asked the same thing. One guess is the user "What?!".
I think you're right.

This is surely an a unbeatable record/movie
Well, I wouldn't go so far to say that. There are a couple of spots I could have done differently to avoid waiting. But they will definitely be fixed when I do a three-player version ;) Thanks for the positive comments everyone. And thank you Phil for publishing it.

Wow, after seeing the previous version of your movie, I would not have imagined you could have been able to shave off another minute. I am glad to be wrong. Great job!

Wow. Incredible, absolutely incredible. I'm glad somebody finally has updated this movie and the use of the fireflower makes it ten times as entertaining than just running through the levels as fast as possible. An easy yes vote from me.

Nice job. That's the fastest I've ever seen a final boss beaten :P A yes vote from me.

Going off topic here, but I've just seen your movie for the first time and I've got to say that this is a remarkable peice of work, comparable to the greats. One of the things that I love about your movie is the aesthetic value. Very stylish and creative. I'm glad you've shared your work with us and hope to see this finished with the same excellence I've seen so far.

Huh. I don't want to record with SNES because it looks terrible and is short 5 levels. So until Gens can support three players, it looks like this idea (for me anyway) is in queue. Thanks for the quick answer.

I'm kind of dissapointed I never looked into this to begin with :( But, I'm still not sure it can be done (See previous post) EDIT: Not possible in Gens or SNES (the rom didn't include a third player option) I won't be creating a run for a three-player time attack until Gens can support three players (not subdivisions of ports, but actual ports because subdivisions do not show up in movie files, unfortunately). This is because I don't like how it looks in SNES and it's better with 42 levels rather than 37 IMO.

Upon learning that The Lost Vikings can be done with three players, I've been interested in doing another run with three instead of two. I can control the characters fine and they all move accordingly, but whenever I replay the movie player 2 and 3 do not move at all. I've set the teamplayer mode on and all three players to their own configuration and it doesn't conflict with port 2. This is all on port 1. Player 1 - 1 Player 2 - 1-B Player 3 - 1-C I can't figure out what the problem is. Can somebody look into this?

Hmm, that seems to be it. After mashing the keyboard a few times, I've figured out that you can indeed switch players. Well, in that case... EDIT: Seem to be having trouble recording movies with three players. I'm moving this issue to the Gens forum.

I don't think so. I would if it worked for Genesis, but I just can't stand the way it looks on SNES. Too pixelated :P Plus I like the fact it has more levels.

Positive. I tried every button and none of them switch. Genesis doesn't have L and R, but Lost Vikings was released for SNES also...

Wow, I had no idea that this was possible! Thanks for pointing this out to me. EDIT: Okay, after trying this out, I can say this will never work as a time attack. Both characters have to be on the screen as player one or they won't move. And you can't switch characters, which makes a three-player run impossible. I'm not even sure why they included this in the game unless they didn't expect anyone to actually use it to beat the game. No, looks like the two player option is still the fastest way. EDIT2: I've found a way to switch characters, but cannot record movies unfortunately. See later posts.

Thank you for watching. Yes, I've heard about being able to control 3 players and would love to make a run controlling all three. However I haven't found a rom that has a three-player option and Gens only can support two players. If someone could create a patch that allows Gens to configure a third player, I would be glad to create a run like that.

I just did a quick run through this movie and timed each of the moments of waiting I took to wobble. There are 180177 frames in the movie and approx 8515 consists of wobbling. In a 50:03 movie, that's equivelant of 2:22. Most of it is in the later levels because they are longer and require more waiting. But, I do admit it was a bit overkill. However, I do wait without doing anything a lot of the time, too. So to say in this movie the characters wobble at every single oppourtunity is a gross exaggeration.

At times? More like ALL THE TIME. It is the height of stupidity when executed even once. I couldn't make it past 15 minutes in this $#!+ video because he spent half his time wobbling. It is stupid.
This isn't Sonic, buddy. I have to wait a lot. And since this is more of a comical game, I chose to liven it up a bit. Big deal. By the way, it depends which game you wobble in. I don't mind it most of the time because I find it amusing but, for example, the actraiser movie shook the screen when wobbled and that was somewhat nauseating. Also, the game had more of a serious theme to it. But in the mario or zelda movies it's actually very funny IMO. EDIT: I included a part near the beginning of candy world where all I do is stand still on a slow-moving platform and wait. Imagine that every single time I would have to wait.

For those of you with trisomy-21, yes I was being sarcastic. Wobbling looks retarded. I voted no because of that alone.
Stand proud.
