Tell me about it. There's some anti-WolfTeam bias goin on I tells ya! EDIT: Okay, I just watched it and am voting yes because it is well-played, fast-paced and, frankly, the music is highly enjoyable. Plus, who doesn't love oversized explosion sprites?

Agreed. This got annoying fast. Otherwise, it was a good run.

Hi Q, what's the status on this project? It's been a few months and there's been no news on it.

I thought the X was for replacing "1" or "2" when talking about Playstation in general.

Xebra, I'd say if you really want it done right, you should just do it yourself. I know it's a pain in the ass to optimize this, but spending time to watch and criticize other people's attempts instead of working on it yourself (which you've had more than a year to do so) seems rather uninspiring. Maybe you can create and compare movies with JXQ instead of just telling him what he's doing wrong. I wouldn't call JXQ's attempt half-assed, since he did gain 47 frames in the Green Hill Zones compared to your v2 (which I had thought to be perfect). Though, I do agree JXQ should spend some more time on MZ1, despite being a level from hell. JXQ: I hope you keep this up, as it has been looking wonderful since you started.

In GHZ3, is there a way to avoid having to land on the platform in order to hit Robotnik one last time? BTW, it's looking awesome. Keep it up.

Hmm.. I'm only getting the 27,960 byte version whenever I download it, but, for me, that's the one that's not working.

That seemed to do it. Thanks. EDIT: Okay, now the same thing is happening with the new Super Demo World movie. Is this happening to anyone else?

I was trying to play nitsuja's Sparkster on his newest version of snes9x, but I get the error "file is wrong format". I searched around the forum and found that nitsuja had the same problem before:

In fact, I have a question for Truncated and maybe Omni: how were you able to get Zeldafix version 3 to even play the movie file? Mine gets a "wrong format" error message because the save state in the movie doesn't match up with the new format. Which movie file are you talking about?
He then stated:

I got it to work btw, I think it didn't open because my download was corrupted or something, redownloaded it and it was fine. I'm getting a little tired with all the desync and version confusion, so the next version I put up will be compatible with both WIP and Final, able to play and record both versions of movies depending on if you check a "Use WIP1 timing" checkbox, and with all the possibly-desync-causing options layed out directly in the play and record movie dialogs.
So, I redownloaded it, but to no avail. The movie file for Sparkster doesn't even show up with any information when in the movie play window. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I haven't ruined any cartridges, but my old dog chewed up my turbo controller's end, so I couldn't beat Blaster Master after that without a game genie.

It looked like, to me, she was saying something like "mata man" (the 'man' having an au sound), but that's just based on my reading of the girl's lips. I don't know if that means anything, but I'm probably wrong, anyway.

I liked this very much. Seeing this makes me excited to see a full length version, despite it being around 4 hours long. I, too, think this should be included with the full version when it's made.

I saw this topic on SDA and found interesting the comments people posted (TSA, for example) so I thought I'd post it here. Ouzo is a type of alcohol I remember being the most distinguished I've ever tasted. Plus I like the name - short and sweet.

Another interesting speed-up is the use of frame-perfect slide boosts. I believe one slide boost will increase the top speed from 65 km/h to 70 km/h with a duration of about 2 seconds (maybe Michael can verify the exact time). Also, since slide boosts in speedruns are mostly around turns, they can be used constantly, even on straight roads.

That was an amazing run and a great start for our newest rerecording medium. Even if it's not perfect, it should still be accepted just for people to actually see it and what this can bring for future N64 runs. Also, thanks for making that video Weatherton.

I still want to make a normal Sonic 1 movie when I find the time, but initially I just wasn't enjoying the making of it unlike making this one with Knuckles (due to the addition of spindash).

I've done most of the movie with the new rom, but I have had barely any time to work on things since I started college. Here is the new movie. It stops at Final Zone. My times are: GHZ1: 0:19 GHZ2: 0:13 GHZ3: 0:30 MZ1: 0:15 MZ2: 0:14 MZ3: 0:28 SYZ1: 0:21 SYZ2: 0:25 SYZ3: 0:51 LZ1: 0:25 LZ2: 0:42 LZ3: 0:58 SLZ1: 0:19 SLZ2: 0:15 SLZ3: 0:34 SBZ1: 0:22 SBZ2: 0:31 SBZ3: 0:15 The scroll glitch doesn't work with this version (not even the one in GHZ2 even though it was in the original cart), so I have to take the traditional routes in this movie. In GHZ3, despite my best efforts, just couldn't make the height to be able to meet Robotnik in the air. Also, I hope xebra can forgive me for stealing his moves at the end of GHZ1 :)

Knuckles can actually use the scroll glitch in many places. I've found out a few places where I can use it. I could probably use it in every single level if I found the right place, but I don't want to because that would be boring. Here is an example. I think you have to build up a great amount of speed (spindashing or jumping off a slope fast) and stop suddenly. Then doing a quick spindash will activate the scroll glitch. I think I'll just have GHZ2 use it. I did use a small variation in LZ2, but that was to do something different by showing knuckles gliding while the tally was adding up. As to whether Sonic can perfom it in GHZ2, I tryed it a few different ways, but all were unsuccessful. I don't know why knuckles can do it, but Sonic can't. EDIT: Finished version 2. Final time is 15:42. Here is the new movie. Times: GHZ1: 0:20 GHZ2: 0:12 (scroll glitch) GHZ3: 0:31 MZ1: 0:16 MZ2: 0:14 MZ3: 0:28 SYZ1: 0:22 SYZ2: 0:25 SYZ3: 0:57 LZ1: 0:26 LZ2: 0:24 (scroll glitch) LZ3: 1:00 SLZ1: 0:19 SLZ2: 0:17 SLZ3: 0:35 SBZ1: 0:25 (scroll glitch) SBZ2: 0:32 SBZ3: 0:15 Final Zone: 1:13

I've redone the first three acts. What I have found is that it's faster to just wait until Robotnik lowers than gliding to him (gliding isn't affected by the speed-up box). Also, I'm not able to bounce off of enemies/boxes unless I hold jump the entire way. If I release jump and hold jump again I will glide and slow down. Thanks for the tip on the GHZ robotnik battle. My new times are: GHZ1: 0:20 (actually about 3 frames away from 0:19) GHZ2: 0:12 GHZ3: 0:31 Here is the new movie.

Well, the hack has some flaws to it. Also, the movie would need to be optimized a bit. But I'm not aiming for this to be published, I just thought it would be fun to make :)
