Here is my attempt. I really enjoyed this, and it seems Knuckles has a nice advantage over Sonic. An example is in Labyrinth Zone 3 where Knuckles is able to jump/climb ledges quickly. Unfortunately, Knuckles isn't able to jump as high as Sonic. My times are: GHZ1: 0:20 GHZ2: 0:13 GHZ3: 0:33 MZ1: 0:17 MZ2: 0:15 MZ3: 0:28 SYZ1: 0:24 SYZ2: 0:27 SYZ3: 0:59 LZ1: 0:27 LZ2: 0:29 LZ3: 1:03 SLZ1: 0:22 SLZ2: 0:18 SLZ3: 0:38 SBZ1: 0:42 SBZ2: 0:34 SBZ: 0:16 Final Zone: 1:13 EDIT: Scrap Brain and Final Zones added. Final time is 16:24.

I just watched this for the first time and was amazed. There are flaws, but it was pretty entertaining. It's been 9 months since Dan said he was redoing it. Since frame advance is now possible this game can be supremely optimized. Any news? EDIT: Nevermind. I found the thread for this game.

I have considered Lost Vikings 2. I need to educate myself more about the game, haven't really played it much. Thanks for viewing :)

I think there would be some legal issues if you put a video game character on something you're selling.

Heh, yeah that might be true, but on the other hand it can be easier to ask questions first. Also, I don't have the Gen-emulator and I won't get it because I don't really know that many Genesis games. I'm more of a NES-person.
Then you're really missing out. Gens is the best emulator on the site IMO.

What is holding N64 emulation back? Do we need a open-source emulator?

I think I have an idea that would solve at least part of the problem of people not being credited properly. There could be a history page for each game that lists all the TASs done for that game and explains what improvements were made in each one.
I like this idea.

Why? They are just as insignificant in an 8 minute run as they are in a 3 hour run, even though everyone would agree more so for the 3 hour run.
Well, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find more than 36 frames from a 3-hour movie, especially since there hasn't been any comptetion on it.

When I first started making TASs, I thought that wobbling would prevent people from being bored, but now I think it's kind of lame. I liked, how in Sleepz's run, that as he was waiting for Birdo to give another egg, he stands on the edge of him and moves with birdo. I thought that was a good example of keeping a fun mood. I don't think people mind if you have to wait a few seconds to do something.

I think people were proud of Sleepz's accomplishments and feel sorry for the work he put into obsoleting Genisto's movie just to be obsoleted by another movie that is only 36 frames faster.

This run is very fast and entertaining. It's a wonder why this hasn't been decided upon yet. The game seems to be very popular, though I haven't really played it (too hard). This movie is a prime candidate for publishing IMO. Any objections?

I vote yes. The only improvement I could see was in 4-1, where phil avoids slowing down to jump over the fly-guy-on-a-cannon by throwing an enemie and double jumping over it.

You say that you don't like the abusing of the glitches [that were overlooked in the game's programming], but then say it was hacked (assuming that it was hacking that made the glitches possible)? P.S. You have to use item 1 on the corner of a ceiling, which M&F do whenever possible. Of course you're not able to do it in the middle of a ceiling.

Pretty cool game, I can't believe I've never heard of this or no one has ever tried it before. This was pretty well-played, but I have a question. Are you sure jumping isn't faster than just plain walking? I know you couldn't jump all the time, but it seemed to me you were moving faster as you jumped.

Well the rom is (U) [!]. Be sure to have Allow Left/Right and Up/Down checked (even though this does nothing). I don't know what it could be, sorry.

I just tried it. Works with 1 and 2 player, but not with 3.

Now that Gens has 3-player support, I've started on this again. I've done the first two levels and am 747 frames faster than the 2-player movie. Here it is. To be able to play the movie, you need to have port 1 set at teamplayer and have both controllers at 3 buttons. Also, you need to use this version of Gens (Gens9d had a bug that prevented playback). There are a couple problems with a 3-player Lost Vikings movie. First, to switch players you need to press A+B+C (these buttons control the actions of the characters). The only real problem with this is Baelog because he has to stop to use his sword, which is why he'll have to swing for no reason sometimes. Second, I'm not able to switch immediately from player 1 to 3 (I was able to do this in the 2-player movie).
