I would suggest you go backwards through this thread http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8889&start=180 if you want more people you could ask.

So, when are you going to post the rest of the room by room commentary? Kappa Loved the crazy TAS-style movement mechanics.

'You can play as Nitrous Oxide if you force the character adress to be 15, but he will get the properties of the previous kart.' I think that means you found the address for how your character is depicted in game, not what your character actually is (or maybe it's more complicated than that)

The physics are subtly wrong in DK64 on normal Mupen. If you're not familiar with the game you might not notice but it changes what is possible compared to console.

Sounds more like a hidden debug feature than a trick/glitch.
Agreed, but there are other uses for disconnecting controllers mid TAS (Secret of Mana lets you add and drop character control and you can do some tricks if player 3 has a text box open and you connect/disconnect her)

For perfect luck manipulation you could speed up clips from pokemon TASes. (Geodude in gsc gets perfect magnitudes, critical hits and goes first against everything, swellow in rse is paralyzed yet annihilates everything with facade, rby lets you manipulate every single enemy attack to miss and all your attacks to crit, etc) And in Megaman and Megaman X pickups are manipulated to drop excessively in a few places (I know in MMX there's some sequence of 6-7 lives you can get in a row).

sinster1 has beaten the TAS time for Piston Honda II by a sizeable amount due to a new mechanic discovery: http://www.twitch.tv/sinisterwon/c/2734183

I recorded the AVI but the size is more than 3Gb, and it takes much much time to upload due to my slow connection! So there's not any encode yet!!! >_<!
You never want to upload lossless unencoded footage to youtube ever. If you are in a hurry, use a program like WinFF to encode it. If you want to produce the nicest quality encode, tasvideos has an encoding guide to read through.

The sense of 'reproducible on a console' is in the sense of 'if we had a machine hooked up to the console that gave the console the same inputs as the TAS every frame, the same run would happen'. Obviously for many consoles it is impossible to currently test this (only NES/SNES/Genesis/N64 have TAS-playback bots atm), but the principles apply: If you're able to move faster than console purely because of increased range in the TAS input plugin, then that's fine (After all, we also allow L+R and U+D - which is impossible on official controllers, but the game happily accepts it, console or emulator, if you can send it) If it's a bug in emulation that allows you to move faster, you should try to avoid using emulation bugs because as the emulation improves (becomes more accurate to the console) it will disappear.

There's also a recently discovered glitch where you can clip into the side of the closed metal dragon head around Gnasty Gnorc level, which would speed up any% even further.

I'm hoping for Playaround myself, there's so much you can do with the glitch.

I think the idea is you would use Null Egg Glitch to get red coins/flowers/stars easier, duplicate/spawn/create them, etc. Problem is, Null Egg Glitch takes so long to set up that it would be tricky to save time with it, and it's so new and huge in its potential use no one knows everything you could do with it yet. Imagine if you could use Null Egg Glitch to spawn a red coin carrying shy guy and keep it through the whole game like keyhole%, for example.

I think if you want to stress a sound codec to its limits, you need to try it on a song that is very complex with lots of subtle instruments and effects. May I recommend the La Mulana (not the steam but the original version) soundtrack?

Awesome TAS! I've watched a lot of Romscout and Mecha_richter SoTN runs and felt like I knew all the glitches, and the combination of knowledge and lack of preparation for how much more a TAS can do blew me away watching. The amount of variance in speed tech alone is awesome, how there are like 8 different ways to move around fast. It would be interesting to see an improvement of this run someday. For example, the Faerie Card alone can now be used to do the shopkeeper glitch, so you can get your mana prisms, duplicator, etc. earlier in the run. Plus, with a game as insanely complicated as SoTN there's undoubtedly a better way to collect all the rooms that just needs to be thought of. (And maybe some other things, like you can swap from shield dashing to dive kick dashing as soon as you get the Leap Stone, right? But I think this TAS doesn't swap immediately)

I intended the definition to allow for destroying weapon pods (they are animate but don't threaten the player character's existence)

How about, to be a Pacifist run you must not kill anything that is both -threatening the player character's existence -animate in some gameplay way
