Encodes on youtube should be tagged with as many terms related to the game itself, to TASing, to speedrunning, to glitching, etc as one can come up with, to maximize the chance they'll come up in a relevant search. For instance, you might tag a TAS with alternative names and spellings for the game, the platform it's on, what company made the game, potentially other games closely related to that game, generic terms like 'tool assisted speedrun speed run beaten glitch glitchy glitched zipping'... Unless there's evidence that adding too many tags lowers the 'power' of each tag?

Hooray! Strikethrough is the most important tag in existence.

Technically a sufficiently in-depth gameshark code could alter your character and then patch other places in the code to not crash in light of this, but it's probably the case that no one wants to go to all the trouble of figuring that out.

Likely the game just isn't designed for the main character to be changed like that.

I believe the moon's purpose is as a super-star, akin to how the moon in Super Mario World is a super-1up (a 3up). EDIT: Nevermind, apparently it's the other way around.

Just out of curiosity, are there any platforms with a frames per second rate that repeats endlessly after the decimal point in base 10? (i.e. if there was one that had 30.333... fps)

If you can make it faster without extensive effort, you may as well do so now, rather than end up making another submission when you could have waited and made only one.

How do you mean it's "possible, but not right now"?
A TAS of Hero Core was successfully made, which I believe is also a macromedia fusion game (or is it game maker?). Because of the systematic ways in which games made with certain game making platforms are put together, being able to TAS one should provide the capabilities to TAS all of them.

As a note for the tetris TAS upload on screwattack: The description states it starts on level 19, but this one starts on level 18.

It depends - Pal isn't forced to be faster outright, but the way game makers compensate for the lower frame rate may or may not make it faster.

He's in the paradoxial state of 'I know this is completely fruitless and terrible, but I'm going to keep pushing it and making a joke out of it instead of admitting I'm wrong'. I know too well, I've been in it myself.

What you'd really want for a high scoring run is a modified version of the game that removes any infinite source of points, or makes them less lucrative than the time bonus. Without wide acception amongst some community of your modified version as the standard, it'd be as arbitrary as choosing not to milk those infinite sources, though.

With sufficient LUA support, could this be done?

For the bosses that move vertically faster than you can, could you get in shots a little earlier by backing away and firing a shot that they'll run into, and approaching as they get within vertical alignment? Maybe not, if you can only have two shots on screen at a time as you say.

You can make a direct-to-youtube TAS, if you like.

For a title, how about "Swordless until Ganon"? Not too long, and captures the essence of the challenge.
Makes it seem even more arbitrary than it already is, IMO.
But it's accurate!

Does getting all the star coins unlock anything tangible or does the value get recorded as being the maximum somewhere you can look?

Except most things you don't need immediately, you just need to have everything but the quest done before T2000.

Obviously bad choice sounds to me like something that doesn't provide for any TASing potential - i.e. the fastest path can be done consistently in real time, or it's just a puzzle game done very fast without any need to juggle menus/acceleration/luck manipulate.

I'd do it something like this: * Troll: Submitted with the intent of angering/annoying people. * Joke: Submitted on April Fools day.

I've been working on learning Lua script so I'll see if I can give that a shot. Also, I'm not quite sure how HP is relevant to RNG ... Think you could elaborate on that?
I mean to say that monitoring HP would be how the LUA bot knew that the attack missed. If your hp stays the same, keep the input it used to manipulate the miss, otherwise try the next combination.
