Why not get ready for it as soon as possible, then mass spam end turns? I assume it wouldn't take too long, and it'd be amusing.

There is no concept of acceleration in this game. If you are moving in a direction, you are moving at a fixed speed. Thus, no 'jump before an edge to fall down it faster' or 'jump further back from a ridge so you have horizontal momentum going over it' type tricks are possible.

While you're redoing the earlier levels, whenever you avoided damage was it necessary to do so?

Couldn't a TAS theoretically be made to be proofed against slight desync? e.g. making jumps and manuvers that have leeway either way to account for slight amounts of lag, and every so often adjusting itself using cues from the game or whatever else.

Two things: 1) Should be in SNES Games, of course. 2) I hadn't heard of this before I looked it up - apparently it's a Super Mario World hack. You should probably make that explicit and link us to it, since most people here won't know what it is. Also, a brief description about why you think this hack in particular is worthy of TASing would be useful. This is the hack in question: http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=showhack&id=1036

Soon we'll have antivirus programs detecting you to be a potential threat to the computer and terminating you. Maybe.

There's a TAS of Jump Forever and Skate Forever (and some other Forevers) on youtube.

It really seems like the only use in a TAS of a warioware game is to do something that really is superhuman - i.e. superhard versions of the games.

You say that as though a speedrun needs less effort than a TAS. :P

Basically this: At time X, action A might take 5 frames. But at a different time Y, action A might take 6 frames, for no 'apparent' reason. Apparent as in related to the way the game works in an obvious way. The reason why, which has been stated before, is because the game uses a co-routine system to implement a kind of 'multithreading', where how quickly things are done has a chaotic element that isn't directly related to any one factor.

If entering it changes the game state (i.e. marks the level as complete) I'd say you'd need to do it.

The timings as in the distance between two in game events of the same type, not the game's timer.

A TAS being done before the game is released would amuse me to no end. Doesn't even have to be a good one!

Because Manufactoria is turing complete on an infinite sized board, you can theoretically create any function in it - space being your limitation. You only need to know the max data size if you're not solving it properly - then again, any solution optimized for time or space is going to cut corners.

That's unconventional, then - normally you hit tab to hit the password field.

I created a map of Patashu Place from screenshots, though I doubt I'll recreate it - I'd rather learn from our mistakes. I can still upload it if anyone's interested.

The description is currently incorrect. It starts "Skyroads is short game..." Clearly it should start "Skyroads is a short game..."

...when not logged in, are quite questionable. In any other site that has username/password fields, the password field is always after the username field. Here it's not a password field at all - in fact, I'm not even sure what the first box is for, I just instinctively assumed you could log in there, tabbed, and...well, I don't think anyone saw my password. <.< >.>

The public rooms are pretty much useless, one person ought to ruin things can destroy more swiftly than any number of people can build. It's good for 'I made a level can you pass it?' maps and 'Let's make a password protected level for our forum to draw/create in' maps, however.

It seems to be the case that physics are slightly different depending on...your fps? or some other factor. On a map I was making, I had a corridor like this: __>__> where you had running space up to just before the second arrow began to run left and through the first arrow. I could do it fine, but even when someone else tried it, I saw their predicted position run through many times but they always bounced off. I'm on a laptop, so I think whatever checks influence the physics are running slower, letting me do it and not others. I have no idea if it's fixable or not, but I'll throw it out there. I've got a level currently hosted which I made with my little brother. It's pretty hard: http://everybodyedits.com/?/jm-Patashus-Place Not a permanent link, it'll go down if no one's in it.

Bump, because I added a bunch of ideas. I tried to make things that work only by contact - things that move or things that affect people at a distance would be able to slow the game down when spammed.
