It's not your fault, tasvideos' time completion for GC movies is bugged because it's difficult to read it from the format, someone will come around and time how long it really is later

Pokemon Stadium AI is infamous for knowing things it shouldn't be able to. Some examples: 1) If you switch pokemon, the enemy will select a move that is strong against the pokemon you switch in, if you load state and decide not to switch they won't. 2) They know in advance if a move they select will work or not, and if it doesn't they won't pick it, they'll pick something else instead, giving them seemingly uncanny accuracy. Pokemon Frontier (Emerald etc) AI may cheat as well, but I haven't looked into this yet. Most Slots abilities in Final Fantasy games are biased away from giving you the best possible outcome, moreso than the rareness of it in the slot reels would imply (For example, in FF6 you have to do RNG manipulation to be able to hit Joker Doom at all). As in, even if your skill is perfect and by the slot machine's physics you would have gotten it, it will slide off. The Arcade/sideshow game 'Stacker' appears to be a game of 100% skill - a block slides from left to right, and you have to press the button when it is exactly on top of your tower of stacked blocks. But actually, when you are about to win a prize, the game rolls an RNG (the probability of which can be tuned by the machine's owner), and if the RNG says you can't win, even if your accuracy is perfect, it will slide one block further and you will lose.

I don't know this game, but does this run get "all" something, like visit all areas or fight all bosses? It would probably be easier to define this run by what it does than what it avoids.
But you could imagine a TAS that uses L+R and unintended exits and gets 'all' of the stuff this TAS does in a faster time. (That's kind of why the 'glitchless' gold TAS by fractalfusion couldn't be rebranded 'all bosses' or whatever - an arbitrary execution TAS could beat them up in record time!)

'Hidden Mansion' mode in Luigi's Mansion is equivalent to 'Replay Mode' in Symphony of the Night - you start the same game from the same starting point, except with some fixed advantages (in SotN it's skipping cutscenes and being able to buy more things from the shop, in Luigi's Mansion your vacuum is powered up). To me this is fine, just list the category as 'Hidden Mansion mode' so it's clear it's not from new game.

You could probably reproduce the glitch by just fuzzing the last few frames of input until it happens on console. It is very volatile.

A high score of the iOS roguelike 868-HACK would be entertaining (maybe speed too, but that's a lot easier to optimize). Hoplite too. A perfect play of TripleTown would be an entertaining watch. RNG manipulation ho!

The fastest route for DKR any% is the one toufool did at SGDQ2013, where you beat wizpig 1 early with an out of bounds, beat the first world, then use trophy storage glitch to get every other world's trophy by beating world 1's trophy race and tricking the game into giving you that world's trophy. So it's doing world 1 over and over in identical ways and it's really boring, which is why 100% should be done if you're aiming for entertainment.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! and sequels use in game time in preference to real game time, and disallow glitches that cause the clock to freeze (such as the 'clock stopping glitch').

So the legends are true..... The prophecy has been fulfilled!!! Now we can start seeing TASes of LittleBigPlanet!!!!
Actually, it's more likely that the first Little Big Planet TAS will be on PSP (because PPSSPP is a very good emulator of PSP, Delroth one of the big devs of Dolphin heads it, and there's been interest in the past into making PPSSPP into a TASable core)

VVVVVV version 2.2 is coming soon (1-4 weeks) http://distractionware.com/blog/2014/03/wanted-coder-for-vvvvvv-maintenance/ When this happens, the latest official Steam version will have the 'suicide possible in the main game' bug fixed (and some other bug fixes).

On that last level, is there a win hit box that moves over to the playing region that you jumped into?
Are you talking about the boss fight? The boss fight ends when all the enemy team members are done dying, so he 'plays around' after delivering the final hit by jumping off the stage.

I wholeheartedly second Gitaroo Man, if/when it's possible; it would be much more entertaining. PS2 TASing hasn't gotten too far, has it? :o
It is currently possible to TAS PS2 games, but tasvideos does not (yet) accept them. (PS2 TASes are regularly posted to nicovideo.)

There's been a lot of debate about allowing 'real time elapsed in run' goals. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of them has been published because of the arbitrary nature of when exactly is a game considered beaten.
Then you've missed a ton of TASes where the goal went back and forth between 'earliest input end' and 'earliest reaching of game has ended state', even between successive TASes, and it's considered OK to do so (Symphony of the Night, River City Ransom are two examples coming to mind)

Well, if this gets rejected, I'm wondering how fast would this compare with the X ray route if you get the beams without the code?
Slower in TAS, faster in RTA (because RTA doesn't know of a way to get an x-ray climb started without the speed booster yet)

I bring it up again - the Earthbound 'glitched' TAS before the one currently on the site glitchily accessed the debug menu by checking a tile that was out of bounds on the map and letting the text pointer fall through until it entered the debug menu. The case is similar here - the GT Code is a debug tool left in the game's code, and it's only useful if you use lots of glitches and sequence breaks to get to the room backwards. (If you got to the room forwards, it won't give you much you didn't already have.) In both games, a hypothetical 'hard mode' ROM where all the debug features were stripped out would prevent either route from working. Please answer this: Why is an Earthbound TAS that accesses the debug menu unexpectedly OK, but a Super Metroid TAS that accesses a debug feature unexpectly NOT OK?

Also, I have a question: are the last 2 input frames necessary? Because if they aren't, I think it would be smart to delete them, because they artificially inflate the frame count. (Not that I don't care about saving the animals or 999% completion, but if it's slower it's not worth it in my opinion - even if it's just for 2 frames.)
The TASer can decide if they think 'real time elapsed in run' or 'frame count of input' or 'in game time' is the more important metric for speed.

Is the old Earthbound TAS against the rules (the one that glitchily accesses the debug menu)?

Use snes9x 1.5x unless the behaviour of the game in terms of glitches differs between snes9x 1.5x and Bizhawk (and if you don't do anything crazy, it probably doesn't).
