Level 1-3 has piqued my curiosity. It looks like using the roll makes you invulnerable to lava. If that is the case, then you should have saved your roll power to the latest parts, where taking damage really seems to slow you down. I haven't played the game, so is this true that rolling makes you lava-proof?

By "dashing", do you mean spindashing? If so, that isn't avoided due to the goal, but simply isn't possible in Sonic 1.
Oh wow! I didn't know that. Guess I should've played the actual game to understand better what it's all about. Okay then, I just have a yes vote, as well as my support for any "no zip" runs of Sonic 2 and 3, where spindashing is possible =)

I got to say, I was unsure about the idea. Though I approved of the will to change from the other runs, to me it just looks like "no zipping" means "no dashing", which is in my opinion is a terrible choice for speedrunning a Sonic game : It's bound to be slower, and doesn't prove something counter-intuitive like "You can beat the game without dashing". So I watched the run, and I found it interesting. The sprite ejection near the end... That's a relief. I just hate those stages, so I'm not even going to argue against it. In my opinion, the most part of the run (i.e 98%) shows Sonic running at impossible places, really fast, doing strange motions. And that's fair enough for me. Yes vote

Ok, well then! I have nothing to say, this run was really perfect for me. I'll change my very yes vote to a big yes vote =)

I thought that was very good! Just a slight mistake I noticed : In stage 44, you claim that killing Wile E. Coyote would make you lose 1 frame, yet you encounter him later on and lose much more than 1 frame in order to get the last carrot. Couldn't you have used the falling glove? Don't worry though, I didn't lose interest in the stages after this one. All that well-explained luck manipulation was interesting and funny at the same time. I remember I played this game and I assure you I really smiled at all the Sylvesters going crazy. Overall : Yes vote, that was even very promising for the future TAS, if any!

That was like going to the theater. The kiss at the end was the only thing missing. I thought I would have been laughing my bass off all day long. Anyway it sure doesn't look extraordinary by technical means, but all the jokes with the two Max made my day. The two together look so oppressing! When I saw the 1 player mode, the final elevator stage I was like "How is Max surviving?!". On the contrary, about the 2 player mode at the same scene I thought "...How is the elevator working?!". Absolute Yes vote.

Insane work Dragonfangs. Best part was after Kraid's instant death, when you race with your own missile and many other things, that until Mother Brain. I say that mainly because I don't really like Chozodia (BGM and overall), but everything was just way cool. You rock. Late yes vote.

Again, I'm in a complete loss of words, but it's great to see that at least you say you will get on this, while still having some nice (at least imo) overview of your future work. I may be repeating myself, but I'm sure this run will be ended sooner or later. You rock, good luck for the rest.

Um, yeah, if your time record is not below the WR, then you may not continue. But since luck manipulation doesn't have to be (in my opinion at least), then maybe you can continue, and redo Mute City with some smart hex editing. For that : You must find a way to hexedit the run, and you must be sure that it won't be a problem for the rest of the run.

Check if the times of each lap match up with the WR or the TAS WR, so you wouldn't have to finish with another try

I can't manage to get Saturn's movie, but be sure to check about it and find out what's wrong

Well don't forget to check Saturn's input here. Some things that surprise me are : - In the beggining you get bumped, but then you go leftwards so you could recover from the damage, but isn't that slower than just going without touching the "recovery" ground? I don't have an idea, just asking. - Some moments you turn and your position is nearly perfect, but since it is not completely perfect you turn a little bit to the right or to the left so this would be perfect, but should it be faster to turn at once and not turn a little bit during the straight way? Again, I don't have a clear clue, except that your lap times aren't the same, but I don't really know a lot. Anyway this was entertaining to me. Keep it up, Dartht33bagger

Actually, the record is something like 2 seconds faster. Do you have the input so I could check it?

I laughed hard @ 2-1, about the moonwalking What's funny is that I had multiple ideas about improving the last TAS but you used these ideas before me. I don't see any possible improvements. Everything is just incredible, entertaining and fast. I have several moments I loved but I'm too lazy to explain these. Very Yes vote, keep it up.

Well, at least you came back here, trying to continue the run. One can hope this run will finally be finished someday :) Didn't have time to check the progress, but I think I'll just wait until you finish more of it. Anyway, good luck for the rest.

Yeah, I found it to be cool actually. The rest sure is classic, but it looked a little bit faster. Good job, keep it up!

I haven't had time enough to look at it, but I think the last part was fast enough for people to get impressed. Fabio's like a zombie, he never dies, whereas you killed him in, like, ten seconds. Nice! Nothing to say, except that Blaze running through walls was insane.

That's what I recently thought. I'm afraid it can't be done with two players at all, because of a possible need for the game to have player 2 stopped or something. Well, still, it's fun to see the two players going through the door which doesn't break, but if you manage not to break the door, I would be damn impressed.

Does it work with Zan alone? I can't find a video I could have made about it, and I'm too lazy to do it, so I can't be helpful anymore. Sorry.

Well, about Truncated's advice, everything is okay to me, as long as I like the fights, which happened here, so I have nothing to say about entertainment choices. Well, I'd be a little bit disappointed if I weren't seeing my "door trick" in the run, but hey, this is no Qlex run. Actually I liked the invincible part too, but the door part is nevertheless surprising... My guess was : You're not supposed to be on the ground during the trick, but it's obviously wrong since I did it with Blaze 3 star dash attack, so my guess is : Zan's attack wasn't long enough, or just because he has been driven downwards during the attack he reached an area where the door is supposed to break, but that looks simply insane. Maybe his 1 star dash attack would do (dunno if you tried it though), or else make him jump and see if those decisions are faster.

Oh fortunately I've seen that update. Now everybody knows there's been an edit to your last post. I'll take a look at your WIP. Don't forget my movie about the doors is still around, somewhere in this topic, just in case you couldn't find it. I'm surprised this doesn't work, I'll study this problem closely.

Well, about the door, check about every possibility, even one hitting the other character, but are you sure that Zan's dash attack (the special one, I mean the "one star" dash attack) can't let you through the door? I haven't tested it so I couldn't tell, but still, this is very surprising to me. About the first door, I know nothing could be done, so that's no problem. For the robots, I'm afraid this would be completely random. I don't know a thing about luck manipulation either.
