moozooh wasn't saying that this game was better than Mischief Makers. He was saying that this game made a more entertaining TAS.

Test Run Finished: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1173468463/Super%20C%20(U)%20pacifist%20test.fm2 Level 7 is perfectly passable under pacifist conditions. In fact, I think two of those deaths are avoidable (I was just being lazy :P ). EDIT: Do you guys (Baxter and Adelikat) have any useful memory addresses for this game?

I did an incredibly sloppy test of the first 6 stages* to determine the feasibility of this run. I was able to make it through all of those stages without killing anything (enemies or projectiles) or dying. I haven't bothered testing whether or not it's possible to make it over the tall aliens in Stage 7, but I should note that they inch forward when you shoot them. * http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/989817311/Super%20C%20(U)%20pacifist%20test.fm2

Things to keep in mind: - You should watch the currently published TAS if you haven't yet - The Spread gun increases boss health by a non-trivial amount. - The Fire gun is chargeable, and (IIRC) has the highest damage per second rate in the game. - imho, the major choke-points will be the bubbles in Stage 4 and most of Stage 7. See if you can get past those stages before continuing. - Bumping into a ceiling has no effect on your vertical speed (and by extension, your hang time). - If you jump on the last boss after killing it, you can display your hero's amazing power of levitation.

Nice music synchronization. I vote yes.

The ratings of recently published movies have become incredibly inflated, and have rendered the entire idea of ratings nearly useless (many people would argue that the technical rating was useless beforehand, but that's already been covered). One recent example is adelikat's Earnest Evans, which jumped by nearly 2 full points.
Bad example. The movie is a 15% improvement, so I'd bet that it's really that much better.

The problem with that acronym is that nobody actually uses it tbqhief. Anyways, I'd actually contribute to this topic, but everything that I would've said has already been said.

I've only legitimately played this game at my cousin's house on one of those "plug and play TV games" things. I think that I could've made it to the halfway point, but my cousin kept on nagging me because I was hogging the game, so I caved into his nagging and let him play. He couldn't even complete the level I was on. :P

The WIP I was referring to (TheRandomPie_IV's) did not take the 100K warp, which is why I was impressed by how far he was.

I know about the 100K warp. I just don't feel like using it. And technically speaking, I've beaten the game, but I used the Plethora cheat so it doesn't actually count. :P

You're already 3/4 of the way through the game? I'm impressed. The farthest I've ever gotten was Skydragon Castle 1 (less than halfway). :P

I had a dream that I was playing Super Metroid Redesign and I was in Norfair. I remember entering Kraid's room, but it was definitely not from Redesign. I it used the green Brinstar tileset and could see the entire room at once. Kraid didn't automatically appear. Instead, I had to go all the way to the other side of the room, and while I was doing so the amount of vegetation drastically increased. The strange thing is that I haven't played Super Metroid for months.

Ugh. I can barely tell the difference between the "Perfect" and "Intro" icons.

Metroid II also gets my vote (with Contra III being the runner-up).

Voted for adelikat for being the only person on the list to TAS a Master System game.

I count nine (9) games that were released in or before 1995. I don't think that statement needs any further explanation.

If you haven't done so yet, check out individual level speedruns by MegaDestructor9. They are already almost TAS-like.
The Concrete Shot-zip abuse is very impressive. I wonder how much more it would break the game under actual TAS conditions.

I nominate the glitched Contra 3 run for the glitchy TAS category.

Saturn's Super Metroid Redesign TAS (Actually, even at the rate Saturn is releasing the WIPs, I'd be willing to bet that the run will be released before any of the other ones in this thread :P )
