I'm not 100% on X2 in 1.51. But if we could get TASing on 1.53, it would be the best probably because you can skip Snails Miniboss like we do in Normal Speedruns (using charged burner for 100% and uncharged burner in low%). Also, it's best to run the Japanese version because you can skip a large crystal block in Snail's stage that for some reason you can not do in the US version.

Here's a question. Is it possible to wobble zip in a solid wall without constantly jumping to keep X from getting stuck? If you can, I have some more ideas on potential zipping areas. Edit: Nvm, I don't think it is possible. I was going to try zipping from the arm capsule to the subtank in Mammoth's stage, and again from the armor capsule to the tunnel below in Chameleon, but they don't work it seems. The only other Zipping areas that MIGHT save time is zipping into the boss door that leads to Vile from directly underneath and the same for the Kuwanger refight and Rangda Bangda boss door, but I don't think they will work either. Other than that, Downward zipping after the Chameleon and Mandrill refights MIGHT save time, but it's kind of a stretch. The only one I can see saving real time is that first wobble zip after getting the subtank in Mandrill's stage, then possibly the second and third shown in that video I posted earlier.

I uploaded a few potential Zips on Youtube. Maybe they will be useful in the TAS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyA5CBWnago You can probably wobble zip left or right to make them much faster, especially that first and second one, to get into the wall faster, then jump at 30hz to decend from inside the wall. That last zip into the ground in Chameleon's stage is probably useless. Edit: Really sorry for the multiple posts. I kept getting a 500 Server Error and refreshing and I didn't know it would resend the data over and over.

(How often would you be opening the menu for other reasons, resetting the glitch as a side effect, by the way?)
I don't think the music will go back to normal until a pause during Rangda Bangda for the Air Hadouken. Then after the boss, the music will go back to being softer because of this warp bug. I didn't mention how I feel about using the bug. Personally, I don't mind it because it doesn't really bother me, plus I hear the music all the time anyway.

Yoshiiscool found it apparently months ago and told us about it during one of his fancy X2 streams. He said he didn't think it was important, which is why he just now tells us about it. Anyway, I'm glad that this will be useful in the TAS. I asked about hex editing it in the TAS without having to re-do some things, so it's great that it worked out.

Speaking of Kuwanger, I have an older TAS of his stage. It's more for entertainment than speed, but maybe it would be useful for some of the things I have in it.

I am not so knowledgeable on this game but I have played it and this TAS was definately entertaining and awesome to watch. I vote yes, and hope to see a Shanoa TAS sometime as well.

That reset bug is an emulator bug with 1.0 IIRC. Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that I discovered you can clip into the ground in Chameleon's stage by letting the miniboss rain rocks around X and then dashing and jumping, X would clip into the ground. I know it would be useless for 100% since you kill the miniboss, but I just thought I'd let anyone know to see if someone more experienced with X1 TASing because maybe they can manipulate the rocks so you can clip faster and maybe they can do some sort of motion that lets X zip to the right after he is in the ground or something.

Rockman and Forte TAS' have always been one of the most entertaining and amazing to watch, and this one is even more amazing. Obvious yes vote from me. Good work guys.

Ok now I understand. I thought it happened before you went to the top of the tower. It's really awesome to know that ice can force X into walls like that though. I myself was thinking to try that out in a few places, namely getting into the boss door that leads to Vile from under the floor or mess around in random boss doors. Also, the thing with skipping the boss refight is pretty great. I tried something like that before in the 8 main stages, but not yet for Sigma Palace. Thanks for the demonstration Parrot14Green.

That explains a bit for sure. At first I wasn't aware of what exactly happened. But do you think you can explain a bit in detail with how to reproduce it? Does it have anything to do with specific positioning? Did you have to shoot at the enemy to alter some form of RNG?

I've been keeping up with these in the X4 thread and I just watched the full run. Obvious yes vote. Very entertaining as well plus short hops are always fun.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgtumdgjiTk I made a full TAS, so I thought I'd share as well. Unoptimized. At 2:05 in the video, I tried climbing the vine and boosting over to the ledge with the door. I came soooooo close (like 1 or 2 pixels) but eventually I gave up. Just throwing that out there incase anyone decides to improve upon this or something.
Wow, this completely blows my attempt out of the water. Just remember you can use the bird to kill bosses faster.
Yes, I found that out after I finished haha. Plus there are some overall bad decisions on my part like when going for the jetpack, I took damage by the bat to pass some spikes, but I could have done without damage and not have to die later on.

A better double jump trick by jumping in mid-air right at the end of a vertical airdash while releasing a cross charged shot, allowing X to move up during the shot release animation rather than fall down. This saves a couple of seconds in Volt Catfish's stage and probably saves a bit in other stages as well.
Oh right... I know the one now. The one that continuously boosts X upwards when shooting after airdashing, wow I completely forgot about that one. To be honest, that trick can be pretty useful. I'm not sure if it's faster than straight up walljumping if there is a room with a vertical shaft, but it would indeed be useful for Catfish and many other parts.

Really? I never noticed anything like that.
Yep. It's like as soon as the box finish fading onto the screen, and until it begins to fade out of the screen, that the whole box itself is like part of the text, or something. So basically, when the box is done fading in, you should hold start, and as it is fading out, start does nothing to speed it up. But as long as it is fully on screen (not fading in anymore) start will speed it up, this includes when the text is finished, as long as the box isn't fading out, you should be holding start to speed it up. I'm pretty sure I'm talking pretty stupidly right about now so all of what I say will be very veigue. That's what I get for not going to bed. I hope you can make that out. Also screenshot VAVA chasing his death ftw.

By the way. Some of the text boxes seem to take a smidgen longer than usual to close after some speeches. I thought it was lag of the emulator but, did you hold start until the text boxes were starting to fade from screen or after text was done?
I don't really understand. When the text is done, the text boxes start to fade out. Aren't both of your options the same thing? Either way, I never really found noticable lag from holding start after the text is done.
I mean, if you hold start until the text is done, the text box starts to fade on its own, but if you hold start after the text is done, the text box begins to fade out a bit faster. This is what you want to happen. It seemed like you didn't hold start so they would fade out faster is all I'm saying.

HOLY CRAP! THIS TAS IS AMAZING!!! I shed manly tears watching this. The zips in this run make it look maybe even more broken than Megaman 2. I enjoyed every second of this, absolutely Yes vote.

Heh Sorry, that is actually my fault. I thought it was unknown because I didn't recall seeing it used in either a speed run or TAS. But then I rewatched the TAS and sure enough, it was there =\

Rolanmen, I have honestly thought about TASing the PSX version with this bug included. The only reason I didn't is because I have problems loading the ISO in Pcsx. If you are able to though, I'd like to see it of course, after all, if I planned on trying it myself, why wouldn't I want to see it?

Been keeping up with this on Youtube. I've been waiting to see a TAS of this and ZX. This gets an obvious yes vote from me.
