My guess is yes. I asked him about this last month and he said there was another task to come... But cmon man, its been at least a complete month and then some since that time and not a single word from him about this. Idk man, I say we let someone else host this... Or something (not to sound like a dick or anything)

At first, I thought the idea of shooting the colored doors to open grey doors in other areas would be a bad idea, but it made the hack feel more puzzle-like, which turned out to be pretty cool. Hoandjzj, I know you to make good Super Metroid hack TAS' and this one doesn't disappoint. Yes vote.

lol at my task 3. Good job everyone, I knew mines would be bad =P As for the current task, I'll try it. It looks really complex though. Edit: Yeah nevermind. I'm not doing this either.

Oh... I think I get it. Ok then, I'll give it a shot. This'll be a new experience.

Thanks Thundrio. You guys did good. I admit I was horrible though compared to my better runs of MM2 I did in the past. Anyways, I don't even know what multitrack is or how to use it. If it's related to assisting 2P runs then I don't know since I never TAS'd 2P gameplay before. But like I said, I'll try at least. An explanation of multitrack would be nice though.

I see. If it's too much for you, maybe someone in the competition can do compilation videos for you. Normally I could do them, but encoding such long videos on this laptop (currently all I have) is too much for it.

Soo... This competition will continue... Right? I sure hope it does. I'm having fun with it, and I'm sure everyone else is as well.

Sounds interesting. I like the idea of controlling 2 characters. I've never done one like that before so I really can't say for sure how it would be, but it sounds fun none the less. As for Scripts, I have no knowledge with them so I really don't know what to say about that.

Heh, me and Mothrayas tied task 2. That was pretty weird lol I won't be participating in task 3 because I don't have internet atm (at a McDonalds currently) but I hope to get back up as soon as I can.

There are only 5 unique enemies that can be destroyed with Mega Man's pea shooter. So yeah, you'll just have to be sure to destroy all hittable enemies at least once. Btw, I already sent my submission. This is an awesome method of wasting half a night.
Yeah I noticed that he can only kill 5 enemies here as well. I'm almost done too, at the second Hippo. Stupid Rush is misbehaving. To be honest, Buster and Rush Coil only is a pretty cool challenge in this stage. Edit: Done, but I'm not going to submit it right away. I'll probably wait a few days first.

Oh ok, I was confused by what you meant by unique. So basically 1 of each type of enemy that can die. Those Eyeball Ring miniboss things count as a unique enemy too right?

By 5 unique enemies, basically you mean 1 of an enemy but end it at count 5 total correct?

Lol I'm not sure everyone knows this though. You kind of just told everyone what to do now basically =P
Oh... didn't know you had to send the smv's to avoid spoilers. Just let me fix that real quick. My apologies.
Don't worry. To be honest, that tactic is what I did lol I do not know how to TAS Super Metroid that well so I did something easy to handle.

Tbh I don't know Super Metroid well at all. I only played through it once. I really dislike the controls in that game, that's the biggest problem I have with it. But that one person to submit so far for this competition was none other than me. Anyway I gotta go with Megaman being the next game. I don't mind which Megaman game though. I don't personally have a problem with TASing any DS, N64 or PSX games either. DOS and Arcade doesn't sound like a good idea to use for a competition yet though.

This is interesting. I think I'll participate as well. I'm not good at Super Metroid and I'm horrible at TASing it as well, but I think I'll at least try this task. Oh and one question. Is it ok to clear a room of all enemies before starting the recording?

I actually have a controller I modified to allow for U+D/L+R and I have a 0 death game done in less than 10 minutes. (Well, it was 0 death until a friend started it up then saved and quit.) My controller mod is poorly done two though, I ended up using wire cutters to split the buttons so the get jammed together really easily. One of these days I should take it apart and file them down some so they fit better.
That sounds interesting. I would try and mod one but I only have 2 controllers so I don't want to mess them up. I did that Left+Up+Right glitch in LttP but I disassembled my controller to do it. I think you can do it without modding the controller at all, but it really is hard.

I'm not a TASer. I'm not really sure why I signed up here, but a hack really interests me. It's called Super Puzzle World 3. It has quite a few walkthroughs and Let's Play's floating about, so I'm curious if it would be acceptable.
Yeah, don't beat yourself up. I'm not the best at TASing either but I try. Everyone gets better with practice. Anyways, I remember talking to someone recently about a TAS of this hack. I still believe that it would be great to see a TAS of a hack like this. Beating it in a way that wouldn't be possible with glitches and still following the Hacks rule by figuring puzzles out, just faster and with frame precision is worth a TAS in my opinion.

Well anyhoo, I'm voting yes because the Hack and TAS are both very well done.

There are 2 Super Mario Bros hacks and they are already published on the site, same for Sonic the Hedgehog. I wouldn't say "this is a bad hack so it can't be published since there is already one on the site". Besides, this is Rockman we are talking about. Even if you hack the game, it won't be that much different from the original. You choose a stage, you make it to a boss, you win, the end.
