Hi Bisqwit. What Operating System do you use on your server? I assume it is Linux, in which case; what distro? Did you install anything extra to aid in your configuring/interfacing with it such as X? What would you suggest as a Linux distro for someone such as me to host an internal server for the house?

Maybe I should add "post a YES reply" / "post a NO reply" / "post a MEH reply" buttons to where the poll was, and those would simply start composing a reply to the thread with "Yes vote" etc. prefilled automatically in the post :)
I vote yes

Or you could view it in command prompt (cmd) using cd and dir as your tools. And get anti-virus in future :P

Older Netgear routers are very prone to poor memory management if everything is set to be logged and overheating if left in tight spaces. Similar things also have happened to D-Link and Linksys routers I've encountered in the past. Feeding massive amounts of connections through a general household router can sometimes crash them too. Edit1: It seems one of my Netgear routers in access point only mode just died randomly. I found it kind of funny how this happens mere days after I criticize older Netgear routers. Sigh...

I did watch it! I just knew nothing about the game so I didn't see the relevance of name entry :(

I disapprove of an improvement that is almost solely based on name entry. The only exception to this is when it results in different luck later on, but in that case it wouldn't be solely a name change. 1 frame elsewhere doesn't make it better in my eyes. Voting no. Edit1: Heh, shows how little I know about this game. The name entry went by so fast I didn't realise that it's the same name entered, only faster. Please disregard my no vote.

Cool tool-assisted paintings, alden! Slightly off-topic: I wonder if there's enough screenshots available at TASVideos for generating a good looking mosaic.
I tried making some mosaics with all non-obsoleted publication screenshots. While the tile-set is lacking some bright colors, the result is not too bad I guess. Here are some (about 4 MB each): Mario Flying Mario Bowser Yoshi Luigi
I like the Luigi one. Also, what's wrong with including obsoleted movies?

What's your media player? Also, try forcing a recheck on your torrent.

Thanks to Raiscan for encoding! The AVI looked mostly ok, but there were some unexpected rectangular artifacts at the ending, beginning at 19:20. Maybe it's just my media player, though.
Screenshot or it didn't happen

Well, no weird processes, in task manager, cpu usage always what I expected it to be, and I did 2 scans (one about 2 weeks ago) with the kaspersky online scanner.
Viruses hide themselves in task manager. They can easily name their exe svchost.exe or something, and they don't all use excessive amounts of CPU. Also, I was targetting qFox specifically with the question (the one time I don't put a quote, heh).

except they usually just compare the name against a list of known burglars, but utterly fail against new ones. and once the burglar is inside, he may as well just shoot your doorman and go ahead.
Not all antivirus products rely solely on signature-based recognition.

Then how do we put forth the information that the author controls Tails also? Currently we use the category "One player controls two characters"..

Because there is a dedicated two-player mode which is different to the single-player mode in almost every possible way. It is a two player mode of sorts (although 2p can come in and out of play whenever he wants), but not the two player mode.

Does "uses" means "controls"? Or is tails controlled by the computer?
...Have you really not watched either Sonic 2 or S3&K lately? Wow. Regardless, both Sonic and Tails are controlled with two controllers. Both have a two player mode but this is not used.

still, relying on antivir-software is like protecting your home against burglars by installing spring guns in your living room.
Not quite. It's kinda hard to tell if a virus is a virus until it's already downloaded. It's more like having a doorman that checks everything that comes in and stops it when it recognises someone whos a burglar or notices someone trying to install a spycamera in that precious clock on your mantlepiece.

Maybe "2-player mode"? (Similarly, "3-player mode" and "4-player mode"). "Mode" refers directly to the game, not the authors.

A lot of people say Norton is bad.
It depends on the user. Personally, I found it to be slow, take up unnecessary resources and (the most important thing) it gives very little trust to the user. In older versions you could disable antivirus etc. and even get rid of the taskbar stuff. This is my ideal level of control. In the last version I tried, you could only disable things for a certain amount of time before they turned on again. Even worse, short of terminating the damn thing from Task Manager it insisted on staying not only in the System Tray but immediately to the left of it as well, with the occasional massive toast box coming up telling me I have things disabled like I'm some sort of idiot. It effectively seized control of MY computer and refused to let me do things I wanted to do. Now I use Avast. It can be disabled, it can be as unintrusive as you want it to be simply by going into it's settings and it's free if you're a home user. Legally free isn't always bad, you know. Oh, and I've never had a false positive from it. I cannot say the same for AVG and Norton.

I know I'm a newbie, but how long until this gets accepted? I'm assuming that a billion yes votes and zero no or meh votes means that this will get accepted, as I don't mean to step on anyone's toes.
There is no specific time-frame for when runs get accepted. They get accepted when a Judge makes a decision on it (or when a Judge is willing to decide)

One Player in Two Player Game seems to have inconsistency- one appears to use two players, the other just uses player two (but not player 1). Two Players and One Player controls Two Characters - one of these is redundant, I think. Could someone please explain a difference/reason they shouldn't be merged?
I think Chip 'n Dale - Rescue Rangers was miscategorized to "Two Players", when it should have been "One Player controls Two Characters". Two Players is for when there are two authors playing two characters. as for Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, It's a very old movie that likely didn't have "Two Players" back then. This has also been fixed.

Unless you've drastically changed your setup, removable devices should never autorun. Even if you put an autorun.inf on the device, Windows/Linux will still ask you what to do or ignore it.

If the guys deserve some money, why do you pirate it and deprive them of the reward for the hard work they have done? Would you prefer we spend our money instead while you use your pirated copy?

No. This seems like it could just start nothing but arguments. Also, we have "Themes", they are categories.
