As for the screenshot, those were nice, Raiscan. I think this one should also be considered: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j177/SwordlessLink/suggestedscreenshot.png
I also took one similar to this :) I didn't png it and upload it though because it seemed to resemble the old run too much..

New Super Mario had slowdown on level select, Harvester Moon DS worked. Zelda is slow. Mario Kart sounds horrible, works with frame skip at normal speed (almost).
Try changing the render mode between opengl and nocash. Works fine for me, full speed (though my PC is somewhat extreme).

The sonic games works too if you have a fast computer(mine works with frame skip) exept the really laggy boss fights.
See above.

EDIT: The sound bug can be fixed on some games by changing the sound settings to stereo instead of surround(grammar ok?).
I get a sound bug in NSMB (fuzz). changing sound settings only worsens the problem.

Change the render mode to one that can be selected. I'm unsure if this was fixed in a later version, but selecting a 16-bit render mode then switching to 32-bit causes Gens to try and render using that 16-bit mode (or possibly vice-versa)

While I am anxious to see a run of this game, the fact that the Japanese ROM 'works' is a matter of opinion, and I get the impression that only an experienced TASer is going to have the commitment and perseverence for a run of this game.

I'm pretty sure that's included as part of reset-recording Mupen.. Edit: On closer inspection, they appear to have slightly different filesizes, so I've uploaded it: http://www.bluetoaster.net/emu/app/mupen-antids.zip Since JXQ handles the mirror now and to avoid causing problems, I'll leave him to add it to the page (unless he explicitly requests I do it personally).

I'm not sure what version of mupen you have, but I would suggest you try the one here (mirror)

I'm hoping that PS1 TASing will be coming in 2009... can anyone confirm how far its coming along (if at all?) Edit: Apparently my question was answered a whole 11 seconds before I asked it. Does Bisqwit get premonitions often? :P Off topic: Phoenix Wright Avatar <3

If this is a stupid post please don't get mad. I really want to make a TAS of a PS2 game and I was wondering how close we are to the possibility.
Well, you'll have to wait for an emulator that can not only play commercial games, but play them accurately. Then you'll have to hope that certain emulator is open source, so people can add TAS functionality. It'll probably take a while to make sure it always plays the game back the same also, what with high level emulation/ dynamic recompilation and all (this needs confirming that I'm not talking out of my ass about this particular matter..)

Will it ever happen at all.
It's possible.

Would it be the near future or years?
I'm betting two or three years. Possibly more.

A 3(6)-ingame day run is a cool idea that is used at SDA, but unfortunately its pretty arbitrary for the rules of this site. While its cool to see everything done with only the mandatory rewind of time, its probably too suboptimal for here.

I strongly disagree with the prospect of an 100% run.

Rather than wait for the door to open, you can probably do a bomb staircase up and over the door/stairs blocking the route up to the top of the clock tower. So, in actual fact, you don't have to wait until night of the final day at all.

I'm pretty sure that Ctrl and Space is an intercepted global shortcut for me, so running and jumping in Mario Revolution is a bit hard to pull off. That said, it seems a cool game. I haven't tried the others though.

Regrettably the furthest I have been is France. Just call me Mr. Outgoing...scan. Just out of interest, for what reason did you go to Vienna?

Did you really write all your css on one line? I can't tell what does what, and if you had to change it in the future, you might find not be able to find stuff so easily. It's much easier to have each function on a seperate line, you've done it in your html :P
Its on multiple lines for me...

I would also recommend updating your graphics drivers if possible.

Nice. You prove me that I was right to think it was improvable. I started studying that game but abandonned for the sake of, imo, better projects.

I image whether this run can be reduced some virtual time when speed up if you press some "start" to pause the game?
Well, if the value at 004c continues to change while paused, I think it may indeed help. Edit: No, it doesn't work.
My favourite part of this post was the bit where you were modest. Somewhat more on topic: Voting yes for improvements that I was under the impression were impossible.

Since I'm under the impression you want to do it realtime, I would recommend watching TASes realtime and paying extra attention to when jump is pressed. Then practice. Lots and lots of practice. If it was easy to do, the programmers would have tried to fix it, wouldn't you think?

Interesting proposition, considering the only difference is the ending. I'm voting yes for the interesting improvements. I really couldn't care less about 99 lives.
