I've made AVI's,okaygo has made AVI's and youtube vids... etc.
The version I have just makes avi's with nothing but audio and blank. Is there multiple reset versions floating around? As for asking for the source, when I last asked he left irc, never to return.

Hello. I don't have a clue who you are, but welcome back. Two years is a long time, so I have to say kudos for the commitment for something you believe in. I must ask; out of the two years, what do you feel is the biggest thing you took from the experience (if anything at all)?

It's been ready for a while. I've made some tests with various games, and the .m64's synch with a reset of the ROM in mupen and still preserve the RAM, all while recording. The only problem is that it hasn't been accepted at the site yet.
Because it doesn't make valid AVI's and theres no released source.

I'd never let it get that far. You know, if I actually could be bother to TAS. Now online games are another thing...

I don't go to websites you frequent and disapprove of what they do. You're open to your opinions, but a topic like this is delicious flamebait. Flamebait I've obviously been.. well, baited by. EDIT: Also this has very little to do with Deign whatsoever.

Another question, does the rom have to be .sgb?
No. In fact, it probably shouldn't be. normal .gb will do fine (.gb IS the GB rom format right?). Beware when using v20, it has its problems (view JXQs post on the matter here)

I think 0-star is a perfect example of how TASes can seriously break games, and as such this should take the star from the 120star run. I do not, however, think it should get an entirely new star.

Would it be a reasonable request that, should this movie be published, the sound in the AVI is lowered/muted when the score is being tallied?
While this is a perfectly reasonable request, I doubt it will be done as the user can easily mute the sound or lower it with their media player. That, and it will probably be taken as decreasing the integrity of the run or something.

I'm voting yes because its my first SMS movie I've watched and it was reasonably enjoyable. The only thing I did not like was the piercing sound of the time being added to your score at the end. I had to map the turbo button to endure that :(

All I'll say is if that dumb RCR TAS made it to publishing, this should too. Just sayin'. Same generic concept - showing off instead of going for pure speed - so not publishing this shows favoritism and, in general, a double standard for what gets published and what doesn't.
Perhaps you should read the submission note why it was published and compare it to this run.

Theres such a thing as an exception to the rule which proves the rule worthy. Except I think the rules are just out of date. Or are they guidelines? Edit: Or as moozooh has proven below, there is no exception..

While your artistic work on "Pashoo" could be considered somewhat admirable, I think people are failing to see why shooting water and looking like a blue trophy thats high is relevant to TASvideos, or why we need a unique mascot at all for that matter.

Genisto, I used to have respect for you as a TASer. You put out some great runs back in the day. But I suggest you retire again...go back into hibernation. This piece of shit was awful. While there were indeed some interesting qwirks, the game was far from entertaining or fast. This would be a good video for YouTube, nothing more. Considering your submissions for this and SMB3 (from All-Stars) is the same, I'm not even gonna bother wasting my time watching that. This run was disgusting. I've lost all respect for you. BIG FAT VOTE FOR NO. (P.S. I have no problem with runs that don't aim for speed [ala River City Ransom run] but I would expect it to be very very entertaining. This run is not the case.)
Congratulations, you're an asshole.
I'll vote yes for that. At least Genisto is trying something new. What interesting 'new' concept have you attempted for the site lately?

I'll have to vote meh. Although the run entertained me, I can't vote yes to a run that doesnt have a criteria set enough so that someone else could beat it. That's just unfair.

I would expect any run that would obsolete this one to have all the bugs and glitches that this one does in either less time or in a similar time with more glitches. Another important factor would be if its more entertaining than the last. Who said it isn't possible to obsolete a movie which aims for entertainment?

One glitch you've missed that would be good is where the colours screw up on the overworld map. I don't remember what causes it, but it was in a previous run when mario was off-screen. I found it very funny first time I saw it, and its a shame its not in this run.

My other idea is that some websites have mascots. This is sort of a silly idea, but think the site should have some sort of mascot.

I feel its my place to list my disappointments with this run. 1. Only 0 stars? 2 keys? I would expect either 1 key or at least -1 stars from you two. Just upsetting. 2. Why are you obsessed with IATT (Italian Ass Teleportation Techniques)? Excessive use can cause permenant injury. Even short term use results in serious burns and lack of the ability to go to the toilet for prolonged periods of time. 3. The camera angles were too good. Wheres the rattly-make-me-feel-nauseous camera that rikku uses? wheres the camera angles where you see none of the important action but instead a lovely wall/ceiling? Thats the best part of the run just out the window. I hope you're happy. You've ruined my day.

I did make a simple, very lightweight FAQ for the Super Mario 64 run (mostly because this topic has grown to biblical proportions) which is availible here (though it may be out of date..). I was hoping someone would eventually wikify it but so far this has not been the case.

Unfortunately I just couldn't find it in me to sit through it and watch it to the end. This is through no fault of your own, its just this game has this whole new level of boring power that makes me want to fall asleep. I did, however, learn that mario is absolutely horrible at insults ("Come back here, you big monkey!!") It didn't entertain me, but I do hope it entertains whoever has actually played the game. No vote, sorry.
