This should only be used for testing. making an actual run with sound test and all emeralds cheats is an absolute no-no in my opinion.
All I have is bricks... can I use bricks?

If submissions are rejected every time a small improvement that requires a complete redo is found, then theres going to be a lot of rejected runs. Its clearly closer to perfection than the run before it, so why reject it? Just because you KNOW its not perfect, doesn't mean it won't help the next person aim for perfection when attempting to obsolete it. I could try some sort of analogy involving machines and blueprints but I won't go there.

I agree with this. That said, I would hope many more things can be broken with the use of Super/Hyper Sonic. I suppose noone will really know unless they give it a go..

I disagree quite strongly with the use of Jabo 1.6, mainly because of its lack of synchability with other plugins (making a run in Jabo 1.6 on Majora's Mask will likely mean people using other plugins is impossible). I do respect the fact that it has superior graphics quality, but care must be taken on this matter.

This is a very good question.
I previously had this problem on XP with my X1900XTX. It went away when upgrading to Vista. As such, I would be very interested to know what caused this. My current bet is outdated drivers, but if anyone else could shed some light on this, I would be most greatful.

then I'd say you're a lost cause. All I can suggest is redownloading mupen from this site to a different folder, move Majora's Mask in there, make sure the settings are the same and try again. If that doesn't work, theres nothing more to suggest apart from watching bjDJ's segmented mkvs or waiting for an AVI.

That one looks like you loaded a savestate. and since you don't provide the rest of the window, I can't be sure whats going on. Make sure you never use savestates for this game. They don't sync up right.

I'm 80% 100% certain that plugin isn't Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2. The clock looks rendered different. In fact, I am quite certain you are using Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6, which does NOT sync. Take a screenshot of the two fairies, and you'll see they are cream and dark blue-purple. In Direct3D6 1.5.2, the Blue-purple one is rendered incorrectly as pink. Until you start using the right plugin, I can't help you.

Snake, can you check the "Rom Settings" In the Video Plugin window? Uncheck any boxes that are checked and make sure everything is set to default. Also, what Mupen are you using? your windows have slightly different text to ours..

Heh. I linked you above a list of plugins that I recommend you try. (http://www.bluetoaster.net/tasvideos/plugins.html).
Rice is 3rd on the list, so its probably your best bet. Don't worry too much about how many frames extra here and there a plugin causes. Its the cross compatibility and quality of video that really matter.

(1)Well, we'd rather lose those frames than have to use gln64. Jabo's 1.6 is the supreme plugin for OoT and MM.
(2)BTW, does anyone know what causes that anomalous pause in OoT? It doesn't happen in MM, so what's the deal?
(1): No. Jabo 1.6 is NOT the supreme plugin. While it may have better rendering and compatibility, you're going to find that people using other plugins (like Linux users) are going to find it hard to play back without desyncs. Please read my under construction plugin explanation page @ http://www.bluetoaster.net/tasvideos/plugins.html.
(2): I think its because the game is waiting for the framebuffer to update, but it takes time to time out. Project64 fixes this using a built-in cheat code that tells the game the framebuffer has been updated.

Thats not a valid answer to my question. At the time I asked Upthorn to implement the 2GB splitting from Gens into Mupen64. Why did I ask this and not for OpenDML? Because since 2GB splitting was already in Gens, and at right now anything that prevents the captured AVI(s) from becoming corrupted is better than nothing.
Of course, if someone wants to implement OpenDML, that would be a better solution.

I actually found this borderline fun to watch. It was right on the edge due to the many loading screens and things ending way too soon. I mean there wasn't even enough time to play the whole of "Ace of Spades" :(
That said though, it looks well put together and done, so I'm voting yes.
