Its likely that the graphics chip you have just isn't up to the task for N64 emulation, but newer drivers might help. Failing that, theres probably an AGP slot you can occupy with a new card. Might want to check up on that first.

After seeing links to people's desktops on IRC, I have begun to wonder what the desktops of other people here are like. There was another topic about background wallpapers, but for this one maybe show your icons, taskbars, etc. and possibly throw in an extra screenie with any applications you love in action.
I guess I should post my desktop first..
There is also a higher quality (not much) png of the same name in the same directory.

Heres my results.
Rhythm: 91%
Adaptive Pitch: 1.35Hz
Tonedeaf: 80.6%
The pitch one seemed quite easy for me, I could tell ever so slightly when the second tone was higher. If I couldn't tell if it was higher, I just went for lower. Seemed to work quite well.
Tonedeaf I think I may have said too many were different. Some sounded very similar but were too close to call.
As for rhythm.. well I spend alot of time around and listening to drummers :D

Try uninstalling all codec packs and just using ffdshow. some codecs might be conflicting.
Also, failing that do you have any other emulators from this site with AVI capabilities? if so, try one of them. If they work (at least partially), it could be some sort of graphics driver issue.

Also in addition to the above, if you could give screenshots of whats happening when you open the uncompressed avi in virtualdub and MPC that would be great. My website has a direct imageshack upload link for convenience.

Umm I meant for you to install ffdshow, then try it in Media Player Classic.
Just to clarify you are using the right MPC, I'm on about this version right here.

If the file you are trying to play does NOT work with Media Player Classic and ffdshow, then I am not sure what the problem is. Vista AVIs that are broken play with the latest MPC and ffdshow.
Might I suggest trying to create an AVI uncompressed (just get around 20secs worth). if the image is almost fine apart from some wrapping and the sound is a fuzzy mess it is indeed the Vista problem.

Those are connected in that they do not use window's API for creating the AVI header and such. Mupen does.
To fix the AVI, simply open it in the latest virtualdub (the experimental one), do Video --> Direct Stream Copy and Audio --> Direct Stream Copy, then go to file--> Save as AVI... then save a new one, problem solved, working AVI.

Thats a very... bold statement.
First of all, N64 movies aren't the most entertaining to watch. Theres nothing that says an N64 is instantly better entertainment. In fact, I would say that the opposite is the case due to many N64 games filled with long cutscenes.
Second, what makes you think people are voting yes just so someone will make a video/publish? Just because people are voting yes and you disagree doesn't automatically mean that 20~ yes votes means people aren't watching it. More people can sync this game up than you think.

They are very light. When something hits them, they lose alot of speed. Maybe thats it?
Also, I believe Banjo was used because hes fast and has the handling required.

Okay I've finally watched it twice to get a good feel for what things are done on purpose, and now I'm here to explain things in the best way I can before people vote no on technicality :)
The max to make a difference is 10. They don't seem to make a terribly large difference if he gets just less than 10, so I assume time is wasted for collecting more.
This would be true except hes boosting alot in mid air, making his speed constant until he lands. once hes done so, he also does the snaking thing keeping a higher than usual speed.
I believe this is a case by case bonus. I think the small boosts are used on corners to get the right angle for a particular corner, but there are some levels where this isn't required (and as such this is used).
FODA's altered beast run is that way. :)
Spelling trolling aside, the bumping seems to be either unavoidable due to an inconvenience in the way (such as a giant dinosaur or log) or because something else was in the way. Another thing which is in the submission text is altering the angle of the player (If you notice the speed hardly decreases at all in most jumps and significantly changes the player's angle for the better)
This one I don't know about. Does hopping keep speed without losing any?
Could you give an example where these decrease speed in a negative way? (not to alter trajectory)
I agree with this in some ways, but bear in mind this took a long time to make and hex editing was not possible for this game without desyncing. Expecting him to go back and do things all over again isn't really a valid option unless for a v2 run.
No. Soft reset in this version of mupen is not supported.
Just FYI, I voted yes because it entertained me. My only disappointment was that no extra characters were unlocked. I guess this is because of the redundancy of doing the same tracks over and over anymore than necessary to complete the game.

I'm not entirely sure what that Wifi max thing is.
For myself and my Wii, I already had a wireless router. I simply entered my routers details and I was immediately on teh internetz.
If the wifimax is simply a USB WLAN receiver with an IIS/Apache server, you can buy cheaper and possibly use your PC as a wireless gateway using IIS in windows. I'm sure somewhere online is a nice little guide for that.
When it comes to wireless interference, I have not come across any problems whatsoever unless my laptop is out of range. Since you already have wired LAN as an option, I would assume distance is not an issue, and as such interference is not an issue.
You mention wireless is slow, however 802.11g (what the Wii uses) is around 54Mbps. This is half the speed of a standard LAN, and if you're using the internet unless you have internet greater than 54Mbps I doubt this will be an issue whatsoever.
For LAN, its possible to make your own crossover cable, though its probably simpler to buy your own. Setting any network up like this pretty much takes the same amount of time regardless of method. Of course this varies..

Please, keep pasting large amounts of text here instead of giving links to larger repositories of quotes, we enjoy being slaves to your postings without having a look at the source ourselves!
Also, I find these Robbie-isms hilariously funny! Please keep posting!
Note that the above post was complete sarcasm as denoted by the giant sniffit. Thanks for reading.

"I don't like this topic"
No really. He has said it before in a movie. Go check.
Edit: apparently Arnie said "I like the color red because it's a fire. And I see myself as always being on fire." when asked about his favourite colour. I'm going with that.

Are you using an Nvidia graphics card by chance? :)
Even if you're not, that definately sounds like you need a graphics driver update. Nvidia's drivers were particularly buggy when Vista first came out.
In contrast, I get no graphical glitches when watching a movie on mupen with Vista, wheras I did on XP. weird huh?

You say this like its currently possible to manipulate an existing game and that you're already trying it. I think its safe to say that what you seek will stay impossible for at least a few years.
Unless you come up with a fantastic idea in which to do so, in which case I would recommend you find something to occupy your vast thinking time.

I don't recommend 1.0 because the previous run that used it was rejected. Among other things, a reason for this is that the pipe glitch was used waaay too much. Dwedit fixed up some RAM echo bug or something which means that it can't be used as much, but I still found it quite boring. Unless its only possible 3~4 times with the fixed emulator, I would highly recommend 1.2.
