You indicated, that * You are very patient. * You are a machinery geek. * You are a vigorous warrior. * The world needs changing, and you are up to do it. Consider these RPG professions: 1. Inventor Any non-repetitive task is fine, as long as it involves using some tool you have designed yourself. 2. Monk Your willpower is strong, and you do not need weapons to prove it. 3. White mage You are a healer. Your role in the game could be: 1. An NPC You could be anyone in the game, but nobody important. --- Seems very hard to get Antagonist in this thing..

Your post is redundant. If you're going to call it obsolete at least provide an alternative, maybe a link or two. Some older hacks (SDW) use ips. Which I'm assuming this topic is related to.

I get a horrible feeling this outstanding run is going to be overshadowed by the other runs on more well known games :(

Hmmm, perhaps you need maps of all the stages.
I thought I'd take a crack at it. With my current, somewhat obvious method, it takes a very long time. First level, unfinished unkeyed map Let me know what you think. If maps would help, I shall make more.

I'm voting yes, but I am not a fan of the damage taken in the rainbow place while waiting for the carpet. It just seemed a bit.. off.

1-3 and 1-4 made me laugh so hard. I'm disappointed the hack isn't bigger...

I like this idea of rewording.

How close are we to Gamecube TASes?
We are this close: |-----------------| Note: Not to scale Seriously though, theres hurdles in the way like an emulator that actually works with games at a decent speed and which is stable. Then it needs to work predictably on other PCs... or the same PC for that matter.

hero of the day travelled forward in time to watch future TASes, then stole their ideas and went back to the present to post them. Sounds like the plot for a new game. (Yes vote)

Hi :) 1. We've seen it can be done. Its really up to you, but some smart alec might insist on avoiding them in the future just to obsolete you. 2. I don't know. 3. Does it not have a memory address with a random number in it that you could check anyway? Or is it generated after the bonus stage? 4. I would think 'hangmen'. Looking forward to seeing the finished run!

Hmm. It seems i've "been told" to keep hush hush. Edit: To Demonstrate Please do not post any more detailed descriptions of map exploits. If you have any further findings, please send them directly to the mapper, Dustin Diamond. I have forwarded your observations to date. Valve didn't make Strand, it's a custom map. And CAMP1 isn't an official map pack, it's a custom pack made by members of the community that has been kindly advertised by Valve. Thank you Rosie the Riveter Moderator
First of all, I can't believe you went into details on their forums :D. Seems a silly thing to do.. I haven't played the game, but it looks a pretty serious oversight on the mapper's behalf. Also, Rosie the Riveter is a sinister, yet somewhat welcoming name. Creepy.

Wow those screenshots are pretty big. Don't you think you could have linked them or resized them for people with not-so large resolutions? Edit: Thanks.

There may have been a previous discussion about this idea elsewhere. It'll be interesting if its found to be feasible because SMB2 has alot of climbing up and uprooting things. Any idea how you will overcome this? Then theres SMB3's slightly different things like flying to take into account. If it works, this could be an interesting run. I trust you have thought it through a bit.

I require both of your goodies via postal as soon as possible. I'll leave that open to interpretation, but be sure you label them clearly on the customs label. Thanks.

From the dictionary comes love:
pride –noun 1. a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc. 2. the state or feeling of being proud.
I feel #1 is a bit off for a TAS. The way I see it, by making a TAS you are showing just can what be done in said game with ultimate precision. You have importance for doing that, but I guess you should always expect there to be an improvement somewhere down the line. You should learn to accept this. Hiding your work from everyone may make it a suprise for others, but it runs the risk of there being a shortcut you've overlooked or a comment on a certain part of the run that does not look right. Why hide your WIP if it could be improved? Claiming perfection is just a mistake in TASing. Its been proven case after case that perfection is very hard to achieve and as such shouldn't really be claimed, even if you feel you are sure. I mean, if you absolutely must, at least say its 'close to perfection'. Stopping your run because someone else has released one on the same game (hi Comicalflop) is particularly odd. In Comicalflop's case, its not even the same goals (any% vs 100%). Theres still tons to see that wouldn't be in the any% that will likely be very entertaining. Of course #2 is fine. You should be proud of what you have achieved. You've contributed something for the greater good of the TASing community, after all. Note: The above is my feelings on the subject and may be redundant as things have already been said by other people. I really don't care. De-rail and I shall remove your goodies.

I originally made mine to match my movie encoding logo. Unfortunately, I haven't actually managed to encode a movie that is publishable (mostly due to silly problems with audio and vista) so Tails looks like hes standing in flying battery zone for no apparent reason. Maybe someday Vista will be fixed..
