Along with this that people know well: Which is SUPPOSED to give me permissions, I also get this while trying to fix vista with some good old XP files: Thanks Vista! Also, notice how my UI is not using Aero (first pic generously provided by some website and rehosted). This is due to a bug where opening 2 programs that require 16 bit colour and vista basic causes odd behaviour.

Hey there, having a slight problem with Gens (and most likely other emulators) when it comes to dumping AVIs in Vista from it. Basically AVIs that come from it are problematic. If it uncompressed, the AVI seems to have a wrap around effect as demonstrated in the picture below: In x264 lossless, its just corruption everywhere. Media Player Classic and ffdshow can read the files, but mencoder and VirtualDub really don't like it. I wouldn't be suprised if it is related to this problem. Just a warning to anyone thinking of getting Vista, and to the maintainers of the rerecording versions of the emulators, perhaps.

Did anyone obsess over that tech demo for Dead or Alive Volleyball (I think) where the breasts jiggled WAAAAY too much and the hair looked like string? Nobody? Anyone? Great.... umm.... me neither... ¬_¬ Edit: If anyone knows what I'm on about and they have a link, perhaps they could post it. For, you know. Example reasons. What?

Oh yeah and JXQ. I am obsessed with him also.
If there is a video game with JXQ in it, I demand it be in my hands. Edit: Unless you count this, which isn't technically JXQ..

Entertaining. I vote yes. Though it did take a while to find the new version of the emulator. Whats up with that? 100th.

I have watched the WIP, and I can safely say I am looking forward to this run very much. Nice work.

That was awesome. except for the malfunction in Master Chief's crotchular region when Samus removes her armor, which conflicts with the ending.

Short, offtopic posts are great. For some actual content, I will now describe why I like Samus. BOOBIEZ!! That is all. That and the fact she is a kick ass female protagonist, which not only has a long history in gaming, is pretty hot too. I'm such a sucker.

I think in Impossible Creatures, you can make a cross between a Praying Mantiss and a Lobster. The result? Praying Mobster. Hours of fun, that game is.

I actually watched that fairly recently. The Spartan takes too much punishment.

Is this problem unique to .fla files? Further, what exactly is the difference between .fla, .sra, and the other save file types (.eep etc)?
This problem is unique with this game (from what I can tell) but Any game which uses .fla and possibly .eep will NOT have their save file deleted when playing back a movie. I assume its because mupen only checks to see if theres a .sra and nothing else? basically .fla, .eep, and .sra are related to how the original game stored its save data on the cart. I could be wrong, but I think EEPROM is for small amounts of data, flash memory is for larger amounts and SRAM is possibly somewhere in the middle. EDIT:

As AKA, Raiscan and myself discovered (and have mentioned before), using Rice 6.1.1 video plugin makes it synch up perfectly, despite it not being the same plugin as Mukki's. Try using that.
Forgot to mention that it seems to synch up best when Rice uses DirectX, but OpenGL has a chance of working too.

So far it's only available for Windows, but I seem to remember you had a Windows box around, so you could use it for audio encoding, or think about some another option.
Or you could get some other poor soul to do the audio encoding for you.

Ahhh.... seems to be working fine now, thanks for the tip. Any idea why that happens? EDIT: Rice makes the graphics look horrible for me, with dropped polygons everywhere and totally screwed up text, but at least it's synching so far.
Theres a problem with mupen (or this game?) where there are dead frames while it creates a blank .fla file. This varies depending on the machine and OS. As for the graphics, theres some options you could try fiddling with.

I watched the whole WIP twice just to see where all the improvements were compared to your test run and I can say that its much more entertaining. Nice work. For the glitch, I'm not sure. if theres somewhere in which you stay inside for a long period of time (or better yet, a place where you go outside of the level!) I would definately stick it in, those 2 small places are nice but its not as cool as you destroying every enemy you see. Thats my opinion, anyway.

I have to say that I miss the way Ice Cap 1 was done last time (all up the snowboarding hill) but this improvement has the Hydrocity 2 and Lava Reef 2 improvements which more than make up for it. Yes vote from me.

Wow, you really put a show on in this installment. You mocked the 3 bosses I had the most trouble with in this game (Izayoi, Twin Freaks, Dark Demon) and the autoscrolling was very entertaining. Outstanding work :D So uhh... whos doing what now? Optimization? I really think you should optimize and publish, seeing as how Trask is up to other stuff.. Also Far Trek could have been much worse, I think you did a very good job of avoiding Bruin and Ze Lazers (tm). Thumbs up from me.

@Raiscan :) I definitely go with the Japanese one. The U/E-version looks like a childish drawn robot with mean eyes. But Izayoi (thanks for the name) looks like psycho killing machine, who wants to ...... devour me any moment. btw: the picture of the U/E-gatekeeper looks so smooth. Do you have a special emulator-settings, or is it just edited?
Actually I thought the scariest is Beau. I mean cmon, the "target, target tar- tar- target!" still gives me nightmares. the picture was done using the EPX renderer included in Gens rerecording 9z. Its really good but in superhigh resolutions the framerate goes really bad. I shall watched the latest movie file tomorrow. Scan shall sleep now.
