I was scanning my computer for viruses with my anti-virus program AVG today, when it suddenly told me that there were trojans in both vbawatch.exe and vbxwatch.exe! The name of the trojan was "Trojan horse Proxy.SQU". I took a printscreen of what AVG says about the trojan, here it is. And I didn't find any more of these trojans on my computer so i don't think it's anything that has spread fom another file. In any way, it's probably important to look up.

I thought this was a fun and well made run. But, as with so many else, I'm not a big fan of the ending - I have the same opinion that primorial#soup here, that the ending was clever and original but took way too much time for anyone to watch the whole way through. I believe almost everyone will just fast-forward through this part of the run. Besides this, thumbs up for a good job, though I await, and will hold my vote until, an updated movie. ;)

You're thinking of "World Cup" for NES, I think.

The boss 'eventually' kills himself with all the objects around.
Allright, after how much time? I turbo'ed several thousand frames without seeing the boss kill himself. I personally think that it would be better to have a slightly longer movie input time if the boss will die 30+ (I guess it's somewhere around 30) seconds sooner, instead of how it is right now. Thoughts? EDIT: About this movie beginning from savestate: Would it be possible to start recording a new movie that does begin from reset, and then just copy all the input from this finished run and paste it into the new movie using TAS movie editor? That is, of course, if the fact that it begins from savestate does not affect the gameplay in any way.

Chamale, have you tried making a savestate at the very last frame of the movie, then start recording a new movie and load that savestate? If this new movie isn't accepted by NesVideoAgent either, it's something wrong with the savestates for the original movie. The rerecord count would be 0 for that .fcm, but that can be edited to the correct number. EDIT: Okay, I watched the .fcm now - but why did it end so abruptly? It didn't desync or anything, the movie just stopped here, without you killing the boss. I have the right ROM and all. Is this supposed to happen?

This was a very, very impressive movie. You had already told me about many of these improvements some time ago, but there were a few improvements in this run that I didn't know of. Overall, I'm very impressed by your knowledge and dedication for this game, that goes for Nitrodon and all the other lolo-pros out there. :) I'm giving this a big yes vote, and I'm really glad to see this game getting even more owned. I bet the game developers didn't see these solutions to the puzzles. ;)

Wow, skipping a boss altogether! Good going, Shinryuu. How come this updated movie wasn't published?
Shinryuu is still working on Rockman 2, and he has many more tricks up his sleeve. So you can expect the upcoming movie to have lots of more glitches and tricks than that. :)

For what console do you want this address? Are we talking about a NES game or games in general? If you're talking about NES games, the easiest way would be to first find the first frame that the game accepts input again. let's call this frame X. What you do then is to start your search a few frames before, say frame X-10, and search for values that don't change between frame X-10 and X (|0-C|==V2 with V2=0). And when you reach frame X, you search for addresses that have changed (0!=C). Perhaps you'll find something that way. I hope I made myself clear with this post. :)

I'm having some issues watching RAM addresses with this tool when playing the game "Tom and Jerry". I believe it has something to do with the "game title" in the "Rom information" - the game title is "TOM AND JERRY", and I think that the reason why I can't watch addresses for this game is because there is 2 blanks in the name. I have no trouble watching addresses for any other games, though this is the only game I have with two blanks in the game title. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? This is what my code for that game looks like, in the file vbxconf0.txt:
;================================
; >> Tom and Jerry
;================================
[TOM AND JERRY]

FF9C,1u,X position
When loading "Tom and Jerry", the memory watcher is totally black, except for the "[Process 0] *" message at the top.

Some time ago, in this thread, I wrote:
*Another bug that I've experienced is that when I make a spliced movie with this tool, the movie will continue playing even after the last frame of the movie! For example, if I make a spliced movie that is 1000 frames long, FCEU will continue playing it even after frame 1000, endlessly. I'll see if I can upload a movie-file showing this if that will help.
I believe I know what happens when this occurs - what happens is that TAS movie editor excludes the last input of the spliced movie, and also makes the movie-file play endlessly, without any input, after the movie should have ended. This has only happened to me with .fcm files, but maybe it's a general error. Oh, and good luck with your future version 0-13, I'm really looking forward to it. :D

About TASing this game: There are essentialy 3 parts of TASing a storybook game like Deja Vu:
Same appears in the Shadowgate run. Good work on both buddy, and keep em coming :)
Thanks for the info. That's what you get when copying text from another game's comments. :)

Very short and fun to watch. It looked very optimized too. I'm tossing in another yes.

There are several games that FCEU 0.98.16 can't emulate. You'll just have to play them in version .15 or perhaps even .13 or .12.

Will there be improvements to the other storybook runs?
Yes. Not Deja Vu 2, though, but both Shadowgate and Uninvited will be submitted soon. I'm actually done with both runs, but I came across a place in Shadowgate where I need to wait 60 frames to manipulate luck to my benefit, and I don't like to wait that long. This event only seems to depend on when you press A, so it seems like I may go with this waiting period anyway. The only way to get rid of it would be to find more improvements, and I don't know any of these. :P Uninvited is already completed and ready to be submitted, I'll just have to write some comments first... There are several reasons why I TASed these games all in a row - They're very much alike so a lot of menu shortcuts work in all three games, they share a lot of RAM addresses, and so on. And they can be TASed very fast - I can record about 1 minute of TAS in about 40 minutes for these games. (if I know the route and such things, of course.)

To download the extension, follow this small guide: 1. Do this. 2. Do this. It's not harder than that. :) At least this was how I did it. Very nice extension, by the way.

Since I got a sneak-preview on this run via MSN, I'll toss the first yes-vote. This was a pretty fun run, and it looks very optimized. Very nice use of the dagger, and the new route and wall-zipping trick was nice too. Good job. :) EDIT: Crap, Rick was faster. :P Allright, make that the second yes vote. :)

I found this site after a friend of mine showed me Sleepz Mega Man 3 run. I thought "wow, that was amazing", and got more interested in these runs. I think I googled for "time attack" or something like that and found this site. After watching a few videos I decided to make a run myself, and you all know how it went after that. :P

Ooops, I copied the text from the Solstice run I uploaded, and its time sneaked in there. It's fixed now.

They are? I guess the signature part is confusing (I think I'll change that), but I don't find anything weird with my personal page. I think it's pretty updated. And yes, I am still working on Darkwing Duck, it's just that both AnS and me do other work at the same time. So don't worry, the DWD TAS will be out soon, probably this month. :)

Well, level 3,5 and 6 were directly copied from adelikat's movie, so he did have something to do with this movie. :P
