Haha, I appreciate the support, but I don't think I should. Let me point at the two reasons I stated before: First of all, a 4-player run will be much slower than this, so why bother? Second, how on earth does one even make a 4-player run? I would need to hold down up to 12 buttons at a time sometimes... I only have 10 fingers, and autohold is a bit troublesome to use for just 1 or 2 frames input. So the answer still stands at "no", sorry. :P If I touch this game again, it would be to improve this run I think.

Do you think I should do a 4-player run of this game next?
Why yes, Randil, I think a four player TAS of this game would be an excellent idea.
Wow, I must have been drunk or something when I wrote that. :P But I really won't be doing a 4 player run of this game. Mainly for two reaons: 1. It probably won't be any faster than this run. The game will lag a lot with 4 players. Just look at chupapi's submission. I would need to improve that time by about 270 seconds to be faster than this submission. I don't really see that possible. The game lags terribly with 4 players running around. I don't see the points in making a 4 player movie when it will most likely be many, many seconds slower than this because of all the lag. 2. I really can't do a TAS controlling 4 characters. I'm having a really hard time controlling two, and I applaud those who have done 2-player TASes, because they're really hard to make. Although it would be cool if someone made a 4 player run that actually obsoleted this one, if nothing else just to prove me wrong. Anyone up for a serious try?

I've never heard that expression before... that's like saying "congratulations on christmas". :P The usual expression we use in Sweden is "god jul". So "god jul" and merry christmas to all of you! :)

As you were backtracking through the area right before the last bosses, you fell into a hole onto a moving platform, when it looked like it would have been easy to jump across. Any reason for that?
Yes, because it is actually impossible to make that jump. Even though it is a short jump, if you try to jump across it, you will hit your head in the roof, and get knocked back down, before you can make it across. You'll see that the roof knocks me down on most of the other jumps I do on that particular level. So normally it would have been very possible to jump across, but it's that stupid roof that's making it impossible.

Would it be possible to manipulate the sequence of houses/areas even further so you could just enter them in the order of which they come along as you pass by?
The only thing you can manipulate with the order of the levels is the placement of the first three houses. As you saw, these appear in the optimal places. The rest of the levels can't be manipulated in terms of where they appear. So, basically, the answer to you question is "no". :P

Yeah, I tried to keep this run as interesting as I could by, as you said, making couragous jumps and being close to enemies. I know this game itself is pretty dull, but I try to keep it interesting as much as I can. I'm glad you liked it. :)

Randil, you totally missed the boat on what I was saying. I did not imply that the movie was sloppy in anyway. I think it is quite optimal. The point is that there isn't enough luck to manipulate. A low record count of course doesn't prove that there wasn't massive luck manipulation, but it is a reasonable assumption. And were aren't talking a little low. Comparable length rpg's have 10x more. Chrono Trigger is a bad example as well. I don't think it shows anything impressive luck wise. I guess it is just really popular too.
Aah, allright. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I haven't actually watched this movie, so I can't say anything about how it looks. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up. :) Also, I haven't watched much of the Chrono Trigger TAS either, so perhaps I should stay out of this conversation... :P

there is luck manipulation but no where near the ammount present in many of the published rpg's. Compare the 2500 re-record count to say that of ff1 (25k), dw2 (21k), dw4 (110k). The ridiculous luck manipulation is the life blood of an entertaining rpg TAS. This isn't exactly an RPG but fits mostly into the category.
A high rerecord count doesn't necessarily mean that a movie is well done. It probably is, but it doesn't have to be. In the same way, a low rerecord count doesn't necessarily mean that the movie is of low quality. I've never made a TAS of an RPG before, and though I understand that there is quite some luck manipulation involved, this shouldn't be judged by its rerecord count... Maybe he knows the game and its physics so well that he doesn't need to use many rerecords, or maybe he did thourough testings of the pseudorandom events in this game before this movie, to find out exactly how they work. To put things short, I disagree with the decision that a low rerecord count is a factor in deciding a movie's fate. I know you listed a lot of other reasons, but the rerecord count itself shouldn't be one of them. A movie should be judged by it's quality and entertainment value, not by its number of rerecords. Also, the Chrono Trigger TAS is an RPG, and it only uses 4932 rerecords, which shows that tool-assisted speedruns of RPG's can be of publishing material, even though they have a low rerecord count.

You are right moozooh but is it a good idea? Cancelling a run to redo the end? If you tell me i should i will! :p
I know moozooh will agree with me when I say that you should absolutely, without a doubt, redo the end, especially since this saves several seconds. Redo the last boss fight, and ask Biswit to update this submission. Good luck!

Looking good. :) Some comments though (some of these are not really important, they're just some things that I'm personally interested in): 1. What is "signature" under Header? it has the same value for all movies I've opened so far. 2. What does the "version" tag under header mean? It says "2" on all movies I've checked with so far... But version of what? 3. It seems to be a small bug when editing FCM's recorded with any FCEU-version other than 0.98.12. It says that the movie is recorded "from save", even though it is from reset, and it also says that the timing is PAL, when it's actually NTSC. You should check that out. 3. An idea, under under "frame count" in the Header section, it would be nice to see that time in minutes and seconds, just like it's displayed when you're about to replay a movie in FCEU. I also played around with editing the input for a movie, and I found some things inconvenient. 4. For starters, if you want to edit input for several frames, you begin with marking the frames you want to edit by dragging a box around them. As it is right now you can only create the "box" to mark the frames with by starting the box next to the frame number. Wouldn't it be easier if you also could start the box anywhere on the frame data field? I hope you understand what I'm saying, otherwise I'll show you with a picture or something. 5. Let's say that you want to edit input for several frames at a time. You begin with dragging a box around the frames you want to edit. Then, you go to the "Controller 1" field to type in the input. My small complaint is that once you have clicked on the "Controller 1" field after marking your frames, the blue color on the frames you chose disappears, so you don't see the frames you just chose. It would be nice if the blue filling for the chosen frames is still there, even after you clicked on "Controller 1". 6. This is pretty much the same thing as comment number 5. If you select more than one frame, the "Frame" box under "Controller 4" still only displays the first selected frame... could you make it so it displays all the frames that are marked? 7. What is this "Find input" and "Goto frame"? (shouldn't that be "Go to frame, anyway?) I couldn't get it to work when I tried it... I had a movie with some frames with the input "A". I typed A in the field and clicked on Goto frame, but nothing happened... There are also some old things I've mentioned earlier that still aren't there, but I won't nag about them again. :) I trust that you will fix those in due time. That's all I can think of for now... I like the interface of this new version. :) Keep up the good work!

A very good run of a good game. I had this game when I was a kid, and I really liked it back then. Easy yes vote on this, I liked how you floated around with your knee up in the air. :)

A short, yet pretty fun, and pretty varying run. I enjoyed watching this, so I'm voting yes. :)

Yeah, that worked perfectly. :) Size is just fine, filesize is good, and image-quality is good. that picture could be used as a screenshot for the published movie. What's he doing walking in the lava, anyway?

I'm guessing that you've already captured the screenshot... The screenshots used for published movies are the size of 256*224 pixels. So you would need to shrink it to that size if it's not. The image also needs to be in .png format. You can convert it to .png using, for example, Microsoft Paint. That should be all I think.... Just make sure it's a .png and that its size is 256 pixels wide and 224 pixels high. Its filesize should be around 20 kb. Or if you just want to show it, and not go through all this compressing, you could just upload it somewhere, like www.photobucket.com. I hope this helps. :)

Maximus, I noticed today that if you open a movie in the TAS movie splicer that you're currently playing with an emulator, the program crashes (I noticed this when I opened a .fcm-file while playing it with FCEU, and I'm guessing that it's the same for other formats as well). Is this something that can be fixed? Perhaps an error message saying "File already in use by emulator", or something like that. I'm guessing that moviefiles don't like it when two different programs are using them at the same time... :P

Looked really good. Short, entertaining, and pretty funny to watch. I liked the Samus-battle, I bet that while in mid-air she was thinking something like "I gotta make it back to the ground! Yes, I made it!" and then gets smacked down immediately as he lands. :) Anyway, good job on this game, voting yes.

Friday is done now. As you'll see, there was some lag on this level. I hope it's not too annoying. I try to hit more people with papers, and I also try to ride the bike out on the street more. There were 11 paper refills on this day, that's a 2 less than yesterday. Let me know what you think about friday. Enjoy!

Thanks, that was pretty much what I meant. :) Though it would be nice to be able to sort them by the individual ratings too.
