I guess I misread this sentence: "if you press down when running with left+right, you will surprisingly enough dash left"
Allright then. I might as well add to the comments that you will dash left at normal dash-speed, not at any superhigh speed.

I think the only reason to not consider that would be that the left+right glitch seems an awful lot like a debug feature, since it's so convenient and works in works in both directions.
True... But I don't understand what you mean when you say that it "works in both directions", you can only run right with the left+right glitch.

Nice run, a well suited game for a TAS. I see you've planned this run quite well, not to mention executed it well too ;). The only thing that bugged me was that the music wasn't that good... :P Voting Yes.

Running on the roof there was a nice touch, too, if the original run didn't have it, then that's one bonus the glitch run has.
Hehe, I'm glad you liked that part, but the original run had it as well. :P I'm glad that the left+right run has gotten good feedback, I will continue working on it! :)

Like Sprintgod, I put in my initials for the high score which eats up another 25 sec of movie length.
25 seconds for typing in your initials? That sounds like an awful lot... You sure you don't mean 25 frames?

Allright, this should probably be posted in it's own thread, but I made the first two levels with left+right. Here it is. Currently it's 235 frames faster than this submission, which means that the endresult will be several seconds faster. Let me know what you think about it.

Allright, I'll give the left+right run a try. And as you said, Kyrsimys, even if it's not accepted as a unique movie itself, it can always be a reference to this movie. Wish me luck! :) PS: I don't promise I'll finish it any time soon, we'll see how long time it'll take.

How about redoing the glitched run while you're at it?
I guess I could, but I'm not that sure it will be published... Or if there is a big interest in seeing a glitched run. If you read this, Bisqwit, can you tell me if a run using left+right will be accepted? For those who don't know, pressing left+right in this game makes you face left and run right at superspeed.

Really good WIP, Shinryuu! I see that you can wallhack in this game, almost exactly like in Rockman 2. Good job so far, I look forward to the next WIP! :)

So if the carrots reach 99 the number won't change if you pick up another one?
Precisely, because I reach maximum number of lives quite early in the run. If I hadn't done so, I would get an extra life by collecting 100 carrots. BTW, thank you all who voted YES! :)

You are really cool on storybook games, Randil! You must be a genius or something!
Haha, I don't know about genius... I think you're exaggerating a bit. :) It's just route planning, cursor movement planning and frame advance, that's really all it takes. ;)

I'm really glad that you finished this run! I've been following your WIPs since start, and I'm really impressed by the result. Really good use of the star, and very precise and accurate movements. Not to mention the boss fights, which were very fun to watch. The game itself also makes for a good TAS. So to sum things up, really great job on this run, I'm glad that I motivated you to finish your run! :) Voting YES, of course.

Thank you Bisqwit for endoding and publishing this run! And thank you too, Less Ashamed Of Self, for your kind words. I don't mean to complaint or anything here, but the text in the .avi says that this is a "Deja Vu TAS", but it is actually a "Deja Vu 2 TAS"... This is no mayor thing, the viewer will of course notice that this is a run of Deja Vu 2 and not Deja Vu 1 as soon as the movie begins, but it was just a small thing I noticed. I noticed that this run has no description yet, so here's my suggestion for description: "This is a TAS of the game Deja Vu 2, the sequal to the popular Deja Vu for NES. This time, however, you DO remember who you are, and you also remember that you owe some mobster a lot of money. The goal in the game, however, is not to get the money, instead you're supposed to frame the mobsters, and you do this by planting certain items in desks and stuff like that. Overall, this movie is a lot like the other storybook TAS: Superfast menu-navigation, a lot of routeplanning, and the general feeling of "What in the world is going on in this movie?"" As always, feel free to comment this description, it's just a suggestion. EDIT: And by the way, why can't the forum type my Location under my avatar anymore? The "ö" looks really weird. Just a sidenote. EDIT 2: Fixed it, so no worry.

I throw in another YES to this. A good improvement over the currently published movie, I had no idea that the MM6 TAS could be improved this much. Great job, really entertaining and high quality TAS! :)

Wow! Don't I feel owned now! :P Your run included A LOT of tricks I never even thought of, and also a better route. I too thought some about using that speed upgrade (yes, it exists in the U version too) but I found the character too hard to control, especially because he jumps too far, so I concluded that it wouldn't save any time. I guess this proves me wrong. :) Not to mention jumping over the stones instead of blowing them up. Really nice trick there. And I also agree with adelikat, those two tricks were really creative and generally awesome. So to put things short, really great job. You undoubtly have a lot of new cool time savers in your run, so it should definitely obsolete mine. It's just a little sad that this run gets submitted right after mine gets published. Perhaps there's a connection... :P YES.

Hehe, good job Arne. And I agree with KDR_11k, the mine cart rolling was amazing... great job on that part. And overall, very precise movements, and some nice new tricks too. Voting yes, and "bra jobbat", as we say! ;)

Actually, Baxter is working on the warped version currently. In the levels that he has done, he has improved them by 30 seconds over sami's submission.
Oh, I didn't know that... Sounds promising! :) Has Baxter released any WIPs yet? And how far is he in his run?

Very nice movie Sami! :) As always, high quality TAS from you! Really fast boss battles, and that blue dinosaur sure could run fast without moving his feet too much. :P Voting Yes!

Nice pics, Guybrush! And I do know that you're 16. :) Also, you page mentions your birthdate, so it's not that hard to do the math. Oh, and your dog was quite big too, a little bigger than I imagined. But why on earth did you take a picture of kebab? ;)

Semi-off topic, I don't know how to re-record. I mean I used save-states during recording to backtrack, but I dont know how to "stop now and start again later". I tried reading the FAQs here but couldn't seem to grasp it. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?
This is done by choosing "Replay Movie", with the "read-only mode" box unchecked. When the movie started playing, simply load the savestate you want to continue from. Good luck! :) I'll try to watch this submission tomorrow or so, and see if I can give some feedback on it. But generally, it's as Mr. Kelly R. Flewin said, use frame advance a lot, it's REALLY helpful, and don't be afraid to use savestates! You should especially use the frame advance function on menus and such. If you don't know how the frame advance function works, or have any other questions, feel free to ask. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but isn't video-quality better on youtube than on google-videos? That's the impression I got anyway. So in what ways are Google-videos better than youtube?
