Yes, looks really good so far. This game seems very simple, but non the less entertaining for a TAS. The only thing that cought my eye was that there seemed to be some lag at times, but I suspect you already tried to minimize it. Anyway, it looks great so far, so keep it up Bag.

I just got around watching this now, and I must say, it was really good. Very entertaining, your climbing of the ladders looked awesome, not to mention all the bossfights. :) Great job.

Too bad this got rejected, the movie itself was quite good in my opinion... Although i do agree that it's wrong to PM people with "vote please" messages, is it really the right thing to do to reject the submission? I mean the submission itself is perfectly good and doesn't break any rules... Wouldn't it be better if the user who sends these PM's gets a warning instead? (where 2 warnings = ban, or something like that). I don't know, it's just that I find it sad that this (in my opinion) good submission got canceled when it was the user who wronged... But hey, maybe you're planning on a new run of this game now, Shakespeare. :)

Hey Sami, just watched your posted WIP now. I see you changed tactics in level 1 too, very clever- I just wanted to say that your run looks very good so far, as usual your DKC runs are entertaining to watch. :)

Actually he's working on DKC 1 any % right now. But since Sami is on a DKC TAS rampage as we speak, it's probably only a matter of time until he'll do that run too. ;)

Really great run. Very entertaining, especially the autoscrolling part. Voting Yes.

Let me the first to vote Yes on this! You know I've alreay watched 95% of this, so you already know how good I think this run is. The last boss fight was long, but you made it entertaining to watch, with all the cannonball-avoiding. Not much more to say really, you've already heard it all. Definite Yes.

As you know Guybrush, I've watched a few WIPs for this movie, so I knew what was coming. :) I'm no expert on this game, but I thought it looked very well done and fast paced. It was also entertaining to watch, so I'm giving this a Yes. Thumbs up, and good job. :)

Okay, I took the liberty of timing it, and Genisto enters the building (the first frame the character disappears from the screen) on frame 4088, possibly 4087, I'm not sure I stopped the movie on the exact frame. I sure hate timing Famtasia movies.

About the Contra movie, a long time ago I got the silly idea to improve it, but I was way slower than him on the first boss... However, I noticed that a few frames can be saved by jumping less. I'm not sure, but I think you loose 1 frames each time you jump (at least with some jumps)... I've lost the movie, but I believe I was about 15-20 frames faster than him once I got to the first boss... So that wasn't such a great improvement. Well, if you decide to improve it, I will be very interested in seeing it. :)

Just got around watching this now. I pretty much agree completely with what Vatchern said, it was really entertaining. My favourite part was between frames 7000 and 8000, where you dodged all those bullets. Definite Yes on this. I should probably watch the full run too someday. I have one question though: I watched this with input display on, and I noticed that the second controller had the exact same input as controller 1... why was this? If you don't understand what I mean, watch your movie with input display on, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm working on Tiny Toon as we speak, so I'll take care of that one. If anyone's interested you can see the current WIP here. I'm making a Solstice improvement too, so I got that covered too. EDIT: I just got an idea, I think it would be a good idea to make links to all of these "famtasia improvements" movies that are currently in the workbench, so people can find them easier.

One question and one request: 1. After having recorded a movie with 0.98.15 and then choosing "Replay movie", it says on the info that the movie was done with version 0.98.13... This is of course no big thing at all, but I'm guessing it's an easy thing to fix. 2. Would it be possible to implement turbo buttons for the other buttons besides A and B? I know that there aren't a lot of places you need to have turbo functions for the other buttons, but it could prove useful at times. Besides these small details, your latest patch is very good. :)

Thanks a lot Guybrush! That moment was a close call. ;) I too have my personal favourite moments from this run, here are some of them: My favourite: (You bet this particular level took quite a lot of rerecords) Here are some other pictures I like: The first one looks pretty much like Guybrush's, just that in this case there are two skeletons on their way to kill me... Showing off the "stand on water" glitch:

Let's all just end this musicdiscussion with this simple and clear fact that no one can argue against: Mega Man music wins. :) /ends discussion But on a more serious scale, everyone simply has their own taste in music... Personally I listen to practically everything, as long as I like it I listen to it, so I pick up songs from genres here and there. But Final Fantasy music is in my opinion amongst the best music there is. Especially the FF Piano Collections albums... But believe me, I totally respect all sorts of musictastes, whatever it is. I mean a guy who listens to Final Fantasy music is bound to accept strange tastes in music. ;) Anyway, sorry for going off topic... Maybe we should just simply put this musicdiscussion in a seperate thread? It seems to be a popular topic to discuss.

Yeah, I kind of lost interest in this, then I started working on other runs and just never took this up again... I don't know, perhaps I'll eventually take this up one day. If anyone else has been thinking about doing a run of this game, then by all means do so, if I take this project up again it won't be for a few weeks at least... Or if any zeldafreak out there wants to help out planning the route and stuff, then I'll gladly accept your help, but as I said, right now I'm busy with other stuff... but somewhere in the future perhaps. Thanks for showing interest in this btw Angerfist, I thought it had been long forgotten in the pile of topics :)

Those 20 seconds were actually just something I calculated by dividing the time for my testrun with Tailz time for level 1, and I got that my stage was like 98% as fast as his, and then I just multiplied that number with Tailz full time... But if he keeps this up, the improvement could be... I don't know, about 40-45 seconds? When you think about it, only level 1 has now been improved by several seconds, who knows what can be done with the other levels. :)

The only thing that caught my eyes was that there was some lag in the beginning of the level. This was when you had 3 bullets on the screen at the same time... try to avoid this, since it often causes lag. As for the boss.... I thought it looked good, perhaps you can walk up to him more as you're shooting? Anyway, it's a great improvement, so keep it up. :)

JXQ: I just downloaded your song, and I mean crap. That was some good stuff, seriously. I usually don't like rap, but that song was really good. Keep it up... Is there any way to get my hands on some of your other songs?

I believe (I'm not 100% sure on this) that there is only one height you can jump on this game, no matter how long/short time you hold down the jump button... I could be wrong though, it's been a long time since I played it. But if so, than maybe Dacicus way of doing it is the fastest one.

Pretty much other geeky hobbys, like anime (not very much though), playing PC-games, and playing roleplaying-games, you know like Dungeons and Dragons. I enjoy playing the piano too, and I guess that's not too geeky. ;) In school, I'm studying math and physics all day long. It's great, but challenging... Did I mention I like videogames?
