Wow, your world 4 looked really cool. Lots of "walking through blocks"-glitches, I like that! :) You can count me in to the crowd who can't wait to see this finished. I have a question about the zip-file: Would it be possible for you to include a savestate in the zip-file from where you previous WIP ended? This way we who have watched the previous WIP don't need to fastforward to the new part.

Good job, scubed. Really creative solutions to a lot of rooms. Generally flawless movements as well. You have my YES on this. :)

Well, I tried to improve this run more, but I only got 1 frame off. If there could be some way to manipulate the last statue (blue one) to fire different way there could be more improvment.
Hmm, too bad there wasn't any more room for improvement. How much time do you think you can save on the last statue as most?

Happy new year everyone! I haven't made any real resolution. Perhaps finishing runs that I've only started, but haven't had the motivation to continue, but that could turn out really nice if I should complete them. For example, I have a Tiny Toon WIP that should be at least 20 seconds faster than the current movie, hopefully I can finish it sometime soon.

I haven't watched this yet, but I've watched Vatchern's run, and since this is only 3 frames faster I guess it's basically the same. Where did you save those frames, by the way? I won't vote because I haven't watched it yet, but I would most positively vote no on this because it's too less of an improvement basically, pretty much what the others have said. I hope you understand this point of view. We've had discussions about this in the IRC-channel some time ago about my first submissions, and I've changed my perspectice in this matter. You could look at it from the previous author's point of view, if someone can obsolete his run with a run that is only 3 frames faster, then someone can quite easily obsolete most runs on this site by just making one single jump slightly better. But I think you're right that this game can't be done that much faster, I found that out when I did my run. This shows how good Vatchern's, and for that case Morimoto's too, run is. Anyway, I hope you can improve it even more, perhaps even a second or two! I'll wait with watching this until I hear more from your progress. Good luck, Guybrush! :)

How are the computer problems turning out, Tailz? Have you gotten any further on the run yet? Just wanted to let you know that I'm still eager to see this done. I hope you can get it done tomorrow! :)

I've watched what you've done so far now, Guybrush, and it looked pretty good. I didn't spot any mistakes or anything in the movie, so good job so far. :) I'll do some testings and calculations on movement and stuff like that once I get home on thursday. I'll get in touch then.

After watching this closely and comparing with the currently published run, I'm voting YES on this. It's true that it's 13 seconds slower, but I think you did a few more interesting combos, and in a game like SSF2 I think that entertainment should be prioritized before speed. Great job with all those combos, I'm no Street fighter expert, but I've played some in my days, and I found all your combos very interesting. You seem to have full knowledge on all possible ways to kick the opponents ass in this game ;) So good job!

My ROM Elevator Action (U).nes had the same checksum as the ROM that Guybrush used to record his movie, so either the filename of my ROM is incorrect, or JXQ:s ROM's name is incorrect. What does it mean that a ROM is an overdump by the way? I actually don't know...

Very good movie, Guybrush. I've watched your WIPs, but it seems you redid level 1, right? You made good use of the elevator glitch too, good job on that. Entertaining and well done, voting YES! :) This movie worked fine for me with the ROM "Elevator Action (U).nes".

I play all kinds of maps, but usually it's normal maps, with around 2500 mineral in each mineral stock, about 5000 gas in each geyser. The kind of "free for all" maps you get when you install SC. I have played maps where there's 50 000 mineral in each stock too, I think it's that way in the map "hunters", right? I'm really not good at mapnames, I've played the singleplayer campaigns mostly. :) I have played some RPG maps too, but most of them are not that good, IMO. Anyway, whe're getting a bit off-topic in this thread, but if you install SC, PM me and we'll play a match. :) We can play whatever kind of map you'd like. As I said, I'll be away now until the 5:th of january, but after that I'm up for some SC!

Sounds good, would be cool to play against someone who's that good! my nickname there is currently johansodling, but I think I can change it to Randil to clear the confusion. Let me know if you reinstall it, and would like to play a game, I would love to kick your ass on SC, hehe ;)

Hehe, how could you guess that? ;) Actually, I'm playing it right now. It's such a great game! Though I'm not very good at it, at least not in mulitplayer :(

Randil, may I suggest that you either learn to click the "quote" button or that you learn the proper way to use the quote tag.
Okay, I'll start using the quote tag from now. I couln't get the quote command (with using a name) to work before, but I see now that it was because I forgot the " around the name. I'll use the quote function properly form now on, sorry to have done it wrong.

Yeah, and another reason why I think that's the best choise is that I'll be away until the 5:th of January.

I think we should start considering when to start this contest. I think that January 7:th is a good idea to start on. What does everyone think about this?

Would be cool to be there, unfortunately I'll be away over that period. Do you now if they will have these reunions every year? Maybe I can be there next year. Oh yes, you should really bring some TAS-videos to show off! :) And say hi from me, should anyone there hang out in this forum. And good luck with your speedrunning, Iriasu!

Hehe, I said it wasn't 100% accurate. ;) And I was soooo close to fooling everyone here! God jul i efterskott, förresten.

This sounds interesting. If the filesize is that low, at least I find it pretty interesting. I agree that it sometimes is nice to see what buttons are being pressed. Speaking of which, doesn't BSPlayer support SRT-subtitles for all videoformats including .avi:s? In that case all current avi:s could be given such a subtitles-file. I think there are some other subtitleformats such as .sub that BSPlayer support, though I have no idea which format is the best. But in whole, this seems like a pretty good idea.

Uncyclopedia is different from Wikipedia.
Allright, I haven't actually heard of uncyclopedia before, and I thought, because of the very similiar design, that uncyclopedia was just a part of the wikipedia encyclopedia. But after scrolling some throuch uncyclopedia I see that it's different. Thanks for pointing that out, Bisqwit, though they do have confusingly similiar design. ;) Here's a quote from the page that tells what that site is about: "Uncyclopedia is an encyclopedia full of misinformation and utter lies". Better not use that as a source for schoolprojects :)

Sorry I have to correct you, but it's actually Icelandic. I think you've been reading uncyclopedia too much. :) The information contained in there is sometimes inaccurate.
Actualy, I haven't used Wikipedia for that information at all, it's just straight from my head, so that's how accurate that is. :) But you know, everything that is said on the Internet is true, and since Wikipedia is part of the great Internet, it can't be wrong. So there. :) English: "Merry christmas, you who play videogames a lot!" Swedish: "God jul din tv-spels-nörd" Not 100% accurate, but still... :)

Lol, I forgot that "Island", as the country is called in Sweden, means island in general in English. No wonder you got confused. I guess the language should be called "Icelandish" or something then. How did the merry christmas greetings turn into this discussion? :)

Here's a world map, with Island inside the big blue circle. I modified the map with Paint :) Reykjavík is the capitol of Island. Islandish is as far as I know the language they speak there, unless there is some great conspiration made to fool the rest of the world. ;)
