Holy crap that was good. You did a great job on all levels, I can't do anything but give you credit for that. Definite YES vote on this. I really liked how you handled the Gol's fire on PRO C. Simply amazing.

mmm, nice nice. good luck on PRO C, though i don't see how that could be improved. But i'll probably have to regret saying that later :) did you watch hanzou's PRO D improvement? it was quite nice, should be useful

Ah yes, you're right about the egg. I'll get it fixed for the final version. Or if you make that version, I don't know right now :) either way, i'll keep posting my findings here. EDIT: Oh, and hanzou PM:d me this small improvement on PRO D, if anyone's interested: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/257/Lolo2-PROD_bitshorter.fcm

Thank you. :) Frame advance is the shit, you know. I'll also look into PRO B and C and see if I can find out something. EDIT: PRO B now done 320 frames faster: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/256/Lolo2_pro_levels.fcm

Great movie, but I've managed to do it even faster now. Check this out: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/255/Lolo2_pro_levels.fcm about 21 seconds faster than first version. And good luck on your version Baxter, I look forward to it.

Nicely done on PRO D. People have to stop improving these levels or I won't even feel like a part of this run soon *kidding* :) Thanks for the tip. And I agree with you that the waiting period is really annoying, I'll look into it some more. It's likely that I will cancel this, even if I can't find a way to avoid the waiting period on PRO D, at least I'll use your technique on the fcm.

Ooh, really nice. Pulling that off on console must be pretty hard, I guess. Thank you, that should really come in handy. Thanks for all of the tips everyone, I'm working on an improved PRO levels run now, using all these newly found tricks. it should be a lot faster. EDIT: Just redid PRO B, it's now 683 frames faster than before. It's also 173 frames faster than hanzou's version, due to some minor changes. I'll post the WIP one I finish PRO C. EDIT 2: I've redone PRO B and PRO C now, using Slotermeyer's and hanzou's strategies. Here's how it turned out: Old version: PRO A: 3782 frames PRO B: 2331 frames PRO C: 721 frames New version: PRO A: 3782 frames PRO B: 1640 frames (691 frames faster) PRO C: 491 frames (230 frames faster) In total 921 frames faster. Not drunken-rad? I recall I saw that somewhere, but I may have automatically made that association from the Swedish word... Sorry.
Eh, drunken-rad? I've never heard of any word like that :) there's no swedish word that looks even slightly like drunken-rad, though there is a Swedish word called "rad", which means "row". maybe i'm getting your post all wrong, if so, you could ignore this part :) By the way, what's up with all this "tre-runk-i-rad?" :) I know I've never made that connection when I heard the name "Truncated". Maybe you should change your name to that! or.... maybe not. hehe :)

Nice, I've been waiting for someone to do this game for some time now. I did a test run some time ago, just abouto a minute long, and I too noticed that the menus moved at different speeds, which is really annoying. I know that the menu navigation is not as fast as in Deja Vu and Shadowgate and those games, but maybe you moved through the menus really fast in this movie too. Anyway, gonna watch this tomorrow, gonna get some sleep now. So maybe this post was pretty useless =/ Your time seems pretty low though, so it seems you've done a good job, I know this game is pretty long.

One of my characters in the swedish pen-and-paper RPG "Drakar och Demoner" (pretty much like "Dungeons and Dragons) is named Randil. And for those who're interesterd, his profession is "wise man". He's not good at fighting, but knows a lot :)

It's good to see that the Ninjas on this site are making TAS again, first Genisto submits a bunch of runs, and now you :) I'm looking forward to seeing it, so good luck with that. Do you think that you'll break the 14 minute barrier with that movie?

I couldn't find how to vote when I first got here either, so I know how it is :) First of all, make sure you're logged in, if you are, and you have "user status" (which means that you can vote), you should see a box with three radio buttons, "Yes", "No" and "Meh", at the top of this page. If you don't see that box, I guess you still have have lurker status.

Hehe, I know the link to the microstorage, but I don't know the URL to the the EXILE movie :) It would be nice to have a search-engine on the microstorage, since finding the microstorage doesn't really help you find the movies that are uploaded on it. By the way, did you find the movie on the microstorage? If not, I'll get it uploaded later today. Oh, and I agree that the music in EXILE is really awesome :)

Shinryuu has already made a TAS of EXILE, it's on Dehacked's microstorage. Unfortunately, I don't remember the URL and I'm at school now, but I can link to it when I'm back home.

Thanks Truncated, I got it to work now. I agree that it was a little repetitive, but megaman boss songs are usually repetitive. I especially liked the drums, good job on that. What program are you using to make your remix, Aqfaq?

I downloaded your remix just a minute ago Aqfaq, but hte filesize was just 19,7 kb which seems really slow for an mp3, and I couldn't play it with Winamp. You should check the URL or something to see if you're linking to the correct file, I'm eager to listen to it :)

It was fun watching this too :) Good job with this, I can imagine that this was at least pretty hard, even though you seem to be very good at this game. Very interesting run, I can imagine you sitting with one gamepad one each lap, switching them constantly :) Thumbs up!

I'd go for speed, mainly, there are however some games that are quite suited for entertainment runs. Just look at MoriMotos gradius movie for example, or the "Crazy Baka" movie for SMB. In a game where you can show of many bugs and amazing tricks, entertainment runs can be really, uh, entertaining. The thing is that these movies are hard to judge whether they should be published or not since their goals are a little vague. Movies which goal is 100% kills or stuff like that can be very interesting too, if they aim for speed as well.

Thanks for the tip Ferret, I'll check that out to see if I can get it to work. And if this run is redone, I would rather see it made with the Dragon Warrior version (the US version) of the game, mainly because it's in english and I think that a lot of people would like to know what's going on in the run. I don't know what differs the japanese DQ2 from the US DW2, though. Does anybody know the differences?

I know what song you're talking about, but I don't either know the name of the song. (maybe the name is "save the princess" as you said) You probably already thought of this, but you can easily get your hands on the NSF and then convert the song to .mp3 format if you'd like. Here is a link to the games NSF: http://www.zophar.net/nsf/wizwar.zip I hope this was of some help to you, maybe you wanted it in mp3 format, but hey, converting NSF --> mp3 is quite easy.

Hmm, if this is improvable by a whole 8 minutes I don't think it should be published... I tried watching this today, but VirtuaNES is messing with me for some reason, says something about illegal NES header, I have no idea what that means. I'm gonna ask what both adelikat and univbee asked before, are you planning on doing a version 2 of this run, choco-mint? Getting this run under 50 minutes would be cool to see. Oh, and please use to FCE Ultra in that case, that emulator is nice to me and plays everything nicely :)

Nice! I think this looked really good, and even though Teowinds movie focuses more on being entertaining, I think this movie was very entertaining too. You used the fist very efficiently, and though I think it could be used a little better, it was generally well used. Oh, and I can just point out that I really liked the part on the airplane, well done there. The place where you ride a skateboard next to a train was well done too, I liked how you grabbed the train with the fist and gained speed from the train. A small complaint is that I think you bounce around a little too much when riding something, like the wagon and the skateboard. Bouncing up and down using the fist looked cool in the beginning, but became somewhat annoying after a while. Anyway, I think this was a fast paced, entertaining movie, I'm voting YES.

Woah, that was fast. Just wondering, do you manipulate luck so the blocks come up in a specific order, in order to get better combos? I'm voting YES to this, by the way, I couldn't really tell what was going on either, but it looked cool :)

Wow, good job. I'm not very good at this game, so I can't tell whether or not you picked the best route, but the fights looked good and I couldn't spot any mistake in this movie, so I think this is very good for a first TAS on this game. You seem to be very good on the Startropic games and I think you got a big talent on making TAS as well, so I hope we'll be seeing more movies from you in the future, Sami! :) It's always fun to see what your next movie will be. Of course, I'm voting YES on this.
