I'd like to see a 100% run using X-Ray just to know the gains of it, but if somebody submit one it will certainly obsolete the genuine 100% run and I wouldn't like that. Seriously, the glitched any% run is a great video but there's a break of entertaining of 15.000 frames (how many seconds?) that's when Cpadolf is climbing on the statue room. Although the other areas don't need much time to climb i'd still like to see a genuine 100% run to obsolete the older, not a glitched. Also it will create a lot of confusion if a glitched obsolete the 100% run, people will say that if that happened so the Glitched any% have to obsolete the genuine any% too... and all that will remain is a glitched any% and a Glitched 100%, but if there's possibilitie to have all the runs (any%, glitched any%, 100%, glitched 100%) so go ahead on the glitched.

I've been waiting to watch this run and i'm glad to see it finished. I'd like to thank you for making this run even knowing it hardly would be published. It's an amazing run! Hope to see a new RBO and a new 100% soon, and i hope you guys keep improving the 14% run even if it's not published. This is the best Snes game and the best game to speedrun.

Just another idea, still considering Kraid's area. After defeating Kraid, the spikes on the ground begin to desapear. So while it is desapearing, to charge the shinespark, go to next room and take the Varia Suit and go back to Kraid's room. do a low jump, shot a Super Missile and release the shinespark to travel through Kraid's room and through the next to the door. The low jump is to avoid Samus stop on the pipe on the next room. I'd be greatfull if someone test the possibilities.

Thank you for testing it, Kriole, and thanks for helping with the visualization, GraveWorm.

Thanks man, that's it! Just don't know if it's faster or slower, considering the way Cpadolf uses in his last 100% run.

I made a real time test just to see how high is possible to shinespark and still hit all the enemies. The result was: If you land on the pipe in the midle of the room after Krayd's room and shinespark, Samus will stop on the Spikes. So the idea is: After charging the shinespark in krayd's room, run and do a continuous wall jump in the first hole of the next room. I think this continuos wall jump is enough to pass over the pipe and shoot the Super Missile to open the door.

I've been thinking of a way to save time in krayd's area, but i realized that it would be very difficult to use it in a any% run. Actually, i don't even know if it's possible or if it would save any time. Let me explain the idea: After you get the Varia Suit, charge the Shinespark in Krayd's room, run to the next room and shoot a Super Missile in the left door, release the Shinespark to go through all the next room. If it's possible and if it saves any time, it would be usefull in a RBO or a 100% run. Remember that there's an Energy Tank to recover all the energy lost in the Shinespark, on the way out of Krayd's area.

It could potentially happen. It would not become a separate category anyway.
Well, i hope it doesn't happen, and if it happens i hope the Tasvideos.org owners think about the possibilitie of a glitched category. I'd like to see the limit of a 14%, Any% and a 100% run, but i think people will stop trying to optimize this runs if they feel their runs won't be published. As a glitched run skip a good part of the game, that skipped part probably will be ignored by the speedruners and a lot of new tricks/speed tricks won't have the chance to be found. Hope to see your run soon NameSpoofer and good luck with the submission thing.

I would likely vote no on it, though, because X-Ray glitching sucks.
I'm not trying to bring back from the dead anything, i was just thinking about that because i really like cpadolf's 100% speedrun and as a "no x-ray run" was obsoleted by a "x-ray run" i've been thinking if it could happen to a 100% run too.

What if somebody show up with a 100% TAS beating Cpadolf's record but using x-ray to skip some parts/boss/bosses. Would it obsolete Cpadolf's run or it is a different category?

What's a "14% speedbooster TAS"? Is it a new category?
Something like that. If you want to beat the game picking the less amount of itens possible without using major glitches, you have to choose between the Ice Beam and the Speedbooster. That's because you need at least one of them to pass through Maridia and Torian. Saturn already made a "14% Ice Beam TAS" and NameSpoofer is working in a "14% speedbooster TAS". Re: forget.

It seems that the guy has all the power upps like Screw Attack or Space Jump, but he is not using even the Varia Suit/Gravity Suit. Is it part of the trick???

I tryied a lot this Maridia stuff and it didn't work, one of the super missiles even openned the door beyond the gate, and other exploded far from the gate but nothing seems to open the damn gate.

That's the way i do to shinespark, but there's a way to do it in a super short space. Like in the SDA video in 0:32 by Satoru Suzuki, it's a non-tool-assisted speedrun. He wrote: "Also, I'd like to thank catnap222 for helping with my submission and giving me some new techniques like the "Torizo quick kill" or the "Super short charge"..." This page http://www.metroid2002.com/3/boss_tricks_draygon_quick_kill.php says that the trick (Draygon quick kill) was discovered by Saturn and he does exactly the same trick that Satoru Suzuki used in his Speedrun. And the video demonstration of Draygon quick kill doesn't seem to be Tool Assisted. The site http://www.metroid2002.com teach the trick but the way they teach is a little confuse to me, and i tried but it didn't work.

I'd like some help with a specific trick that i've seen in some videos, but i didn't figure out how to do yet. It's the "Short Charge" that Satoru Suzuki does to shinespark. I've seen many diferent ways on google, but even trying hard i coudn't. It doesn't seem that hard to do when we see the video, so i imagine that there is a specific way to do it because he does it aways the same way. I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question but Satoru said that the TASers gave him some hint about the trick, so if anybody can help me i'd be thankfull. Id like to learn to do the trick without Tool Assistence.

Thanks. Could you tell me something about your last 100% run? How many time it took to be finished? One last question for now is about you actual project, how is it going? Your work is really fantastic, congratulations!

two questions: After entering the room with Flying bugs, before Torizo's room when you're going to get the Bomb, isn't it faster if you jump on the bugs and use the Enemy Knockback technique to reach Torizo's room? When first heading to Brinstar, in the room before the elevator room, instead of morphing through the enemies on the ground, isn't there a way to shoot it and use the bugs to cause damage and use the Enemy Knockback technique to go faster?

My best time is 1:00 with 100% and i was not using an emulator, it was on the old Snes. I didn't have a computer and was on a Lan House just watching some videos on Youtube, so i found the video of Red Scarlet and all that tricks and shortcuts were new to me. I memorized his route and his tricks and trained a lot to do the same way. I did it, but not so fast. I was satisfied since my old record was 1:32 with 100%, but now with all these tricks discovered by the TASes, i think i can improve my record, but i'd like to do it on an old Snes. Unfortunately i have the original game, but don't have a Snes anymore.
