I've watched it before when it was posted in the forum and watched it again now with the submission text added. It is an amazing improvement/run and the explanations in the encode really helped to understand what was going on. Congratulations, Dooty! Yes vote!

2. Treat the underflow glitch as non-major.
I'd say the underflow is not a major glitch, but it is not a minor glitch either, like the ones that have been used in the previous regular any% runs. Maybe instead of using "Non-Major glitches" it would be better to say that a run that don't go for gamebreaking glitches "uses minor glitches", there's no way the underflow strat can be labeled as a minor glitch.

Why can't I vote here? I can only see the results. Edit: Maybe I voted already and don't remember...

Amazing work Dooty! I look forward to whatever you're working on, so I have an excuse to watch the run again (I would anyway even if I had not an excuse).

This just skip a climbing that you need to do, as you can see in the video below. It's more benefitial for in-game time, I guess, but it may also save something for realtime. https://youtu.be/SWqIZbZZeQQ?t=2594

Funny that two suggestions that didn't make it into Cp's TAS because they were not faster or not possible are now improvements for a possible new 100% run. 1: Diagonal shinespark in amphitheatre: It was possible, but there was no spark glitch to store a shinespark at the time and make it faster. Iirc it was around 4 frames slower than the strategy used in the TAS. 2: Clip through SpringBall ceiling using Grapple Swing: Everything was tested right at the time by Cp and Kriole, but to make it through the ceiling the jumping speed was just not enough. The glitch found by sniq made possible to store enough dash to add to the jump and make the trick to work. Edit: This is the attempt by kriole edited to include the bomb that will allow keeping the needed dash to clip the ceiling. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/766401149/MaridiaGrappleClip.smv Not sure how good this would be for realtime, but for in-game time it would definitely save quite a good chunk of time.

On one hand, I feel kind of sad it went so much into the RBO territory, especially in Maridia (this also means the current RBO route has become quite improvable in comparable segments, by the way)...
It's even worse. The any% Taco is/was working uses the same tricks and strategies, through the same route in Maridia, that an improved version of the RBO would use. In fact, both runs would look exactly the same from Norfair elevator (Leaving Norfair) to WS lake after Wrecked ship. The difference is the any% run would go from there to Torian, while the RBO would have to go down to Brinstar to fight Kraid. I'll not spoil it, but just from Norfair Elevator to Draygon, in terms of in-game, comparing to Saturn's RBO, there are over 1min improvements found.

This is unbelievable!!! Never imagined how many things could be writen about this game in a submission text. The run probably took less to finish than the description itself. hehehe... Amazing work, man! Your arcade runs are just awesome! I thought I knew everything about this game, but it was a pleasent surprise to be proven wrong many times during this run. Congratulations and yes vote!

Great work guys!!! The run is now even better and it was already amazing! Question: Not sure how the wall clip you used work, but would it be possible to use a damage boost on the penultimate floor of the building in 2nd stage to clip to the top of the wall and fall to the right?
