Sorry the noobish, but what exactly that Ridley clip means for a 100% run and if it saves time, is it already possible to know how much?

Just a silly question, can anyone tell me how many frames it takes for the timer to jump from 06'31"963 to 06'32"033? I saw an interesting article about CRT TVs here and I was wondering how many frames delay we're experiencing by using modern TVs. Regarding the numbers for the timer that's what I could figure out from the image in the link, but I could be wrong. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to take a look at this. I tried, but my PC is very old and I can't run the emulator properly. Edit: Forget about it. Just managed to test it myself. Thanks!

Pretty cool videos, Jaeger! I liked the infinite grapple jump trick followed by the going through ceiling. I suggested something like that for the 100% TAS to go through the ceiling before the Springball when finding improvements for the run, but the crouch jump wasn't enough unfortunatelly. It would save a good chunk of time for sure if possible. Here's the best we do. You'll need snes9x 1.43 v18 to play the smv. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1123168727/Maridia%20Check.smv

Something cool about this game is that you can beat it using Shao Kahn or Motaro. I remember beating the game with Shao Kahn so it shows a glitched ending or something like that. Don't remember If I managed it with Motaro.

Not sure it this would be useful in an any% run (or any run) but... Just a few frames faster anyway. After Hi-Jump Boots Use snes9x 1.43 v18 to play the smv.

Pfff... Neymar is out of the world cup. Although he didn't play well today we aways trust him to make the difference. Anyway, hopefully we can do well against Germany even without Neymar.

Great run. And I agree with the others regarding the last boss.

Yes vote. By what I saw in m2k2 I thought you would need X-ray to trigger the explosions in Zebes, but you just jumped straight to the end! Amazing! Congratulations!

Cpadolf: When you reach the bubble room, after landing the Power Bomb, would it take too long to get to the waver close to the left door (the one that leads to a save room) and kill it to pick up a big health?

So, in this case it could have been used for in-game time purposes in the current 100% run instead of refilling in the bug pipe before speed booster, right? It would just look very bad, of course. Glad it wasn't used.

I'm not familiar with the pause glitch. Is there any example of it working? Would it just allow Samus to travel through the heat areas wasting less health?

Well, as long as you don't activate the past zebes. I think there are specific spots to activate the past zebes. The only one i remember is the secret passage in the hunter shaft, where you usually get the last Super Missile pack in a 100% run.

Patashu, you're probably misunderstanding the space time glitch with the Reset Glitch, where you start from Ceres with all you had before Reset Glitching.

Really nice! Not sure how judges will deal with a run that uses GT code even if it beats the glitched fastest run. Given that when judging Saturn's run it was treated as a cheat code, i think it would still be considered a cheat code, so it would kinda not be a leggit glitched run. So, if this is the case, the way you, Cp, completed the game in the current glitched run might be the fastest way without cheating (i'm not saying GT code is a cheat code). Even if TASvideos doesn't accept a glitched run that uses the GT code i'd still love to watch a fully optimized run. What could be treated in a different way is a 100% glitched run, using X-ray and space time glitch. Maybe X-ray could be picked up early to allow to get some itens early than normal (Plasma comes to mind).
