Look, does the star data for up there load if you do the caged island episode or do you have to beat the giant whomp first? I just think that you could use it in the run.

I know, I just thought that it was a weird choice of words in reference to electricity. Also, joined.

This comment sparked my interest to trial it and see what the outcome was.
I am thinking of joining and by the way, was this intended?

About the first one, there are several ways to do that: 1. Enter the R-2 Prime Cup's Master Ball division (you have to beat the first three divisions first). Assemble a team that contains a Pikachu that does not yet know Surf. You HAVE to use a Pikachu from your Game Boy game. You cannot unlock Surfing Pikachu using a Rental Pokémon. Do not register your team! Pick it directly from your Game Boy cartridge. You now have to beat the Prime Cup's Master Ball division using a three-Pokémon team that always contains Pikachu. Pikachu has to be in every one of the eight battles. You are not allowed to use any continues. If you do, you won't get Surfing Pikachu. Once you have fulfilled all the above conditions, you are shown an award screen with Pikachu standing on a surfboard. 2. Use the hybrid technique 3. Use a glitch move changer (Has not 3trainerpoke been proven to sometimes do this?) Since I dont think you need the surf badge to work it, maybe?

I wonder if the data of the second WF star still would give you the star if you got up there. Is there anything that can check that?

I have noticed something by accident. Pikachu while surfing, is faster moving than normal. I know this probably wont make it into the run but, just thought I would point it out.

The closest star to 16 seconds currently is Whomps Fortress BAtW. If you can find a star which is about as long to get...

But, how could they tell it was done by computer? After all, it could be just a very skilled person playing it. They probably dont have a webcam built into the game to watch the playing of the thing or person playing the game. Edit: I just watched the same Stacker Video over and over again and I have come to a conclusion. On the top row (and possibly the second to top row) the the block moves 1 square over after you press the button.[/b]

In your run, I do see some mistakes. 1. On the last turn (first lap) when you grab the yellow star, you go straight through the grass. A TAS would want to go over the grass instead of through it. Going through the grass negates a small chunk of the yellow star through loss of speed and having to accelerate again even with the help of the power up. 2. On the turns on which you use the green star to go over the grass. on two of them you land on the grass for a few frames, but just enough to slow down Herbie. If you jump when you have been on the grass for 1 frame: A) You have not been on the grass long enough for the game to slow you down. B) You negate the penalty at the end of the jump.

I have decided to put my current run on hold because I think I should start off with something small like this game. Besides, I bet my sister I could not beat the game in 18 minutes or less, so extra motivation to finish it uder 18 minutes. Anyway, here is a test run of the first 2 races. So, what do you think? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My general point was that the BlJ could cause you to skip DDD somehow. Possibly a 0 star run if we ultilize the BLJing in the Basment to skip past the DDD entrance.^ Neh?

Possibly a 0 star run if we ultilize the BLJing in the Basment to skip past the DDD entrance. I have a suspision that there may be a bad seam in the second bowser room (before DDD is pushed back). Mario could then long jump off the ceiling over the blue wave thing.

Yes I was, yes I was. Edit: Fine, I will reword it. Its unusually good for a first TAS, we should publish it.

About this fadeout thing, I have tried it on my emerald and, I think that the time wasted getting off the bike and moving into the area and getting on the bike and accelerating again is much more than a 84 frame pause. Edit: My mistake, I did some more testing, and its about 24 frames of slowdown.
