I'm probably going against the masses, here... but I actually voted Yes.
The run was sufficiently entertaining to me, with the impressively fast combos, to make up for the minor repetitiveness. Variety was shown in the stage finishes instead.
It, like most fighting games, isn't the fastest, and would be best to judge as a playaround. Not as glitchy as I would have hoped, but I wonder if the game even HAS glitches to take advantage of in the manner UMK3 does.
One way or another, I had my reservations (especially in consideration of the recent UMK3 submission by the suspiciously similar author), but after watching it I feel this run is worthy as publication... at the very least until a more entertaining run can be created.
My only question is, why is this run "11:28" when the video seems to indicate input being capable of ending rather sooner?

100%? 100% of what? o.o Seems difficult to quantify for a fighting game... especially with the curiously absent submission text.

I am shocked, shocked and appalled, that this run's technical score is a mere two digits. Should be somewhere near 43,000/10... 42,000 minimum.
Anything less is an insult to... um, someone who'd be insulted by it I guess.

It's great to see this run finally get published. I was here for the first MM run and found it fantastic, but when this one showed up, it managed to set the bar even higher.
What's next? Sub-1:00:00 MM?! Entering the final battle on the first three-day cycle?!?! Me running out of punctuation marks?!?!?!

After the title screen, there was no negative sign of using the Japanese version, so it works out in favor of the run.
I definitely liked the strategic use of the weapons, and you collected so many hearts without wasting time that you could literally spam crosses for every little situation. :3
Gets a yes from me! :3

Did he actually vote no for that reason? Or was he making a joke, and someone else voted no instead?
I see a lot of "joke no" posts, but to actually do it for a reason like that seems rather petty. One should be judging the run, not the players associated with it.

Well, many of the negative comments, mine included, mostly delved into the fact that the game doesn't differ from Mario 64 enough due to the low percentage of what's actually being seen.
The run was basically:
1 - Mario BLJs through walls he wasn't meant to, to get to the Bowser stage.
2 - Mario BLJs fast enough through the Bowser stage that you can't actually see any amount of the stage in question.
3 - Mario defeats Bowser in a nearly unchanged manner.
4 - Go through the door the key leads to, then return to 1.
Based on the rules regarding hacks, the run really has to show off the hack in question. A 100%-star run would do that for this. A 0-star run does not... many of the "No" and "Meh" votes were on the basis that it was too similar to the M64 0-star run.
To put it a bit into perspective, I watched the run with an open mind, and the ONLY thing that actually impressed me... was hacking in the Flipside music. Everything else that was shown differently in the run that could actually be seen felt more like clutter.

I remember something about that. Something about tricking the game to use the "downhill" speed for your uphill jump.
But yeah, the improvements sound interesting so far, would be interesting to see how much time can be shaved off!

I kind of favor the first, actually; it kind of makes more sense out of context, and doesn't 'spoil' any run surprises like the second does.
Plus the second just kind of looks busy all over, and when shrunk down to the typical thumbnail-esque sizes that show up on the site, probably would make it hard to make out many details.

The only thing that needs to be clarified in the rules is the possibility of (E) versions, as all examples mention (J) specifically. And absence of lag is mentioned specifically as a "good reason".

YouTube's recommended videos section is pretty inconsistent.
Every time I watch a video on it that's not a TAS or some music remix, I have to turn around and wipe my video history so it doesn't keep on popping up with inane 'recommendations'.

I'd kind of have to agree with Lex's idea; just make little arrow buttons show up when you mouse over to switch the screenshot.
Lets people see multiple screenshots, but with none of the hassle of auto-fading.
We'd still need to pick a "best screenshot" for the default, though.

I really, really liked this run. It didn't get so repetitive to be annoying.
Have a couple questions/concerns, though.
-Why does it start from full-unlocked SRAM? Adventure Mode can be done from a clean slate, so by site rules it probably should.
-Why do you take time off to beat up polar bears and yetis in the Ice Climber stage?
Also, it might be nice if it (or perhaps an alternate input file, so it doesn't get counted against completion time?) 'plays' through the credits, just for the sake of 100%ing the name blasting.

And... what would the end goal be?
There's already videos of infinite hyperspeed reverse on YouTube. An actual TAS run wouldn't really provide anything those videos don't already do.
(Though if you can think of some way to make it interesting, you can always submit a humor run on April 1st!)

I seem to recall my brother mentioning N "insisting" on you making room for it. I didn't see this first-hand, as I saw what was coming from a mile away and purposefully stashed my Fly bird away for room. >_>
So I don't actually know for a fact what goes on during that scene if your party is full. I simply assumed they wanted to forcefully engineer the Zek x Resh fight.
However, as a random thought, even without the legend thing, another potential consideration for Black is wild Cottonees. Regrettably, no trainers in the forest use any Pokemon that can paralyze for activating Guts, so you have to use a wild battle... and Cottonee's the only one who can do it that early in the game. (Petilil, the White Version equivalent, won't know Stun Spore in the wild.)
It does create a nice situation where you get Timburr, Guts activated, and the Quick Claw all in or adjacent to Pinwheel Forest. (And Timburr, if level-manipulated to 16, can easily clear through the entire forest even without Guts, so you can wait until the very end to get paralyzed.)

A possibility. However, for TAS purposes, I feel that Guts abuse might be more useful via Timburr/Gurdurr, getting paralyzed, and using the Quick Claw. (Conveniently, both Timburr and the Claw are available before the third gym.) Timburr's rock moves can also come in handy for versatility.
Sawk's pretty strong for a normal run, but when you have a always-on, no-drawback +50% Attack bonus in a TAS-boosted Guts, things look much better for Gurdurr.
(...though I guess it might get a bit repetitive if Ruby/Sapphire, the in-progress Diamond/Pearl run, and this run ALL rely on Guts abuse... whatever works for speed.)

Black City and White Forest are irrelevant for the purposes of TAS, as neither can be visited on the way towards game completion. But, there are still more TAS factors in this game for version than there are for previous games.
1 - Of course, wild availability. However, there are very few version-exclusive Pokemon in either game (discounting post-game, anyway). The only one likely to matter is Reuniclus(W), who has clear advantages over Gothitelle(B). Rufflets/Vullabys show up far too late to help, and Whimsicott/Lilligant are far too narrow.
2 - Version Legend. Unlike previous games, catching Reshiram(B)/Zekrom(W) is compulsory. Furthermore, they automatically show up in the lead of your party for the final two battles, so either you have to use them, or you have to waste time switching them. One valuable weight to this is that Reshiram can easily OHKO N's Zekrom with a critical Dragonbreath, while conversely Z would require some combination of favorable IVs, poor IVs for N's R, and high damage variance. Reshiram also has a slight edge against Ghetsis.
So, for version, I'd say Black would be best. It certainly doesn't hurt that N's Stone and resulting Pokemon, for all the times they get referenced in speech, have fewer letters each (Dark vs Light, Zekrom vs Reshiram), so it'll save a couple frames here and there.
I'm inclined to think Tepig/Emboar is the strongest and most versatile of the starters. However, NONE of the starters have an early move that affords them a particularly decent advantage against their monkey nemesis in this gym, and the free level 10 monkey you get in the dreamyard can only OHKO with the absolute most favorable circumstances... which all hinges on if it's even possible to RNG weak opponents.
...This one might take a bit of research.
Winter. Twist Mountain is MUCH faster during this season. Route 8 is slower due to sliding, but not by much.
You've got a few minutes where season doesn't matter, so it's possible to time the run so it's Winter in Twist Mountain, but Spring in Route 8. However, the 'new season' message might cost some or all of the time you'd gain, not to mention it'd probably mess with the RNG.
An HM slave will not really be required. There aren't many places where you'll need an HM. Usually it's just for optional items.
You will need to use Cut once in the entire game (entering the Dreamyard, after first gym), and you can teach that to the monkey you get for free right before said gym. You'll also need Fly once (Hunt for the Stone, after seventh gym), by which time it should be trivial to have coincidentally picked up the flyer needed beforehand.
If I remember correctly, you can use Strength as a shortcut in Dragonspiral Tower's second floor. Might be an odd place here and there where Surf is more useful than walking.

I dunno. Seems like flickering through so many screenshots at that speed makes it hard to really focus on one.
And as you mentioned, a lot of screenshots are semi-spoiling the runs. A lot of the others don't make a lot of sense out of context. I'm sure we can narrow it down to one crazy picture.

Okay. Some of the level design, as apparent from the run, is a little interesting.
Not so interesting, however, that BLJing through the game at breakneck speed really shows off anything about the hack.
The hack could possibly have potential... for a fuller run. A 151-star run, most likely. But, as a four-minute 0-star run, most of which consists of Bowser fights that are nearly identical to their nonhacked equivalents, this game just doesn't work. Gets a No from me.

That's correct. Taking any number of one-way paths in the World of Balance would require you to traverse the entire (long!) path just to get back to where you started, to get your airship again. And this path is required for teaching Mog Water Rondo (which is already useless on a TAS standpoint, even if it didn't take forever to get.)
The GBA rerelease alleviates this problem with Water Rondo, by giving you a boss battle in World of Ruin that can teach it.

Wow, it's been forever since I last played this game. Or even heard about it.... I don't remember it being quite so fast, though!
Gets a yes from me. Action is hard to follow most of the time, but it's clear it's very well done.
Though I do have to wonder Harry's wisdom of 'rescuing' people but leaving them stranded surrounded by aliens and zombies anyway.

The movie works now. Guess it was Nicovideo's fault. >_>
The run itself is fantastic. The glitch parts were rather confusing and may need explanation in the submission text. x.x Either way, though, easy yes vo-...wait, it's not submitted yet! This should be submitted!
The save trick for repeated double-jumping is a little disconcerting, however. It would probably be nice if the eventual non-glitch run was done on Impossible to simultaneously avoid using this and also count as a "hardest difficulty" run.

Unfortunately, the video doesn't seem to quite work for me; shows no audio or video for the entire 18 minutes, on either Nicozon or Nicovideo. WIP video loads fine on both.
