This 100% update of Oddysee has been delayed for at least a year and I finally fixed the missing ring. It will be very difficult to improve this run in the future and on PSXHawk some of the glitch shortcuts are more messed up such as the one in the Monsaic Lines.

Is there a way you could create a resync workflow between Bizhawk and PCSX? Every time a desync ocours in bizhawk, PCSX sends the right snapshot over to PSXHawk.

Why is it PXM? Wasn't there a functional, converted BK2 that synced properly? You are aware that even if the final time of the BK2 is longer than the PXM, it has no bearing on the judgement of the movie, correct? We forgive longer times due to longer loading and more accurate emulation as long as there are actual improvements to the gameplay. It just seems like a huge waste of other peoples' time to throw away that BK2 in favor of something that's going to waste even more peoples' times when it comes to the publication process, especially when the BK2's longer time isn't even remotely a factor. EDIT: At the very least, are you okay with this file being converted to BK2 before/during submission? Once again, it would have no impact on judging at all. It would simply make the lives of the encoders/publishers a lot easier, with absolutely no drawbacks.
The converted BK2 file that auditV provided me desynced on PSXHawk. But if it can sync on PSXhawk with a BK2 conversion then that would be a good idea.

Update: I know exactly what caused the missing ring to disappear now and I can confirm that the Boardroom ring shows up too! So if I modify Dooty's PXM file and finish it off, the total movie time will be good. I will submit it as soon as I finished it.

An update that you all have been waiting for! I have finally figured out the 100% correct reason on why the ring disappears. With all the new tricks and glitches, there is a problem with one of the secret areas loading. The game thinks that I have glitched it too much and it causes a bug in Rupturefarms. So, in order to fix the missing ring, you need do do a backwards jump into the secret area first and the Sligs will kill you and then you go back to the nearest checkpoint which isn't too far. Well, I suppose that's better than saving and loading the game! Update: You don't need to do a backwards jump into a secret area. As soon as Abe dies after pulling up the lift, then the ring will show up. Update: Finally figured out the fastest possible way to get it to work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1PxxHokzVE&feature=youtu.be

Update: So I started Scrabania first and I know exaclty where the memory corruption is going on now. When I was playing the level visble with just a ghostly Elum, in one of the screens, there was a glitchy square underneath one of the tiles. I will have to alter the running and jumping on that path because if I hop on that tile, the glitched up square doesn't appear. So I will be going back to my old file with all the tricks and glitches and have to alter a small section in Scrabania to avoid that glitchy square underneath. So It's an issue with Scrabania. I will try to fix the rings!

I think I know another reason why the ring would disappear. I think it might be the zapper in Scrabania. In the current published run Abe never gets zapped by the orb after Stockyards so I'm going back to the older way on dealing with the Slig and see if that helps. Upfate: I am also going to get rid of auto turns with Elum. That also may be the cause for memory corruption whilst in another glitch

Out of interest, do you know/have an idea why the missing ring happens or are the causes not known yet?
Dooty and I don't know for sure but I'm guessing it's going behind the screen in Paramonia. I am going through updating the file now and I have saved some frames from my last WIP. Now I just need to sync everything back together. Once you unlock the electric fence to get the Zulag 1 and you go through the door with a Slog on the next screen the missing ring will be there too. That's what causes the ring to disappear at the Boardroom. I am starting over at the Monsaic Lines doing Scrabania then Paramonia and comparing with the published run. Update: I am only 30 frames ahead by the current published movie starting Scrabania first.

It's not a problem with the emulator, i think it's do with the trick in Paramonia when Abe and Elum are behind the screen. My next WIP will be uploaded as soon as I find out what the missing ring problem actually is.

I am having problems right now with Abe's Oddysee on both PCSX and PSXhawk. I may know what the problem is to fix the missing ring, but my movie file on PSXhawk goes over Dotoy's file comparing to PCSX. Can I still use PCSX to match the loading times with the submitted file? It will be quite difficult to obsolete Dooty's time on PSXHawk.

Ok. I have just done Scrabania in my current movie and so far my final time is expected to be 1:03:34! I had to make a few changes to some glitches because psxhawk doesn't like Abe to drop down from a roll in the Monsaic Lines. Is there anything different between my movie and the published movie? Might the loading times affect my movie time? I am advancing the movie frame by frame but I'm not so sure why I would be going over Dooty's time. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/25977047053493947

I am currently in the process of creating a 100% TAS of Oddysee and my movie file is a few frames more than Dooty's file and it's about to hit the same time as his published movie even with the new tricks and glitches. Is it normal for an accurate emulator to go over time with a not so accurate emulator?

Update 3: Here is something interesting that happened to me in the Monsaic Lines. So I was setting up the ledge glitch ready to drop down for the time saver and I was unable to hoist down where Dooty dropped down in a roll! Abe would become unusable! But here is the good news. The good news is, I am able to drop down whilst running in the same spot I can drop down in the PC version. I also had trouble manipulating the Slog AI even with the right amount of frames, so I am using the sneaking method. Final time is coming towards a 1:02:42. So I just need to sync the remaining frames and hope that the ring shows up.

Ok. I am not that far away from the Monsaic Lines now. So I decided to stop the movie and any% my way towards the end to see if the missing ring turns up. I am pleased to announce that so far.... Take a look at this! So, in order for the ring to not disappar, I need to do LESS ROLLING at the Monsaic Lines. Only Roll when I need to, then the ring won't disappear.

Update: So since the failed movie now is converted into BK2, I am able to use some of its input. Most of the time it desyncs. So I started a new movie and I have PCSX open and my movie open at the same time and all my rescues are as good as Dooty's. So here is my 33 rescues at 10:00. When I get to RuptureFarms Return, I will stop the movie and go to the boardroom to see if the ring is there. If it's there, then I'll TAS the remaining Mudokons! http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/25843365326862152

Well, I couldn't get the entire movie to sync but I am in the process of redoing all the frames in a new movie and I can use some frames that will sync. This converted file will help me a lot when it comes to the DDG sections when Abe is invisible! Thanks a lot AdituV!

Right, oops, I forgot to store the sync settings in there. This new version looks a lot better, I hope, and the input looks about right. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/25689396370941157
It looks good and it actually opens up perfectly in Bizhawk. Now I just need to go into TASstudio and fix the X at the start. Once that's all sorted Abe should be up and running! Thanks for the conversion AdituV!
