Only if you're planning on playing games. For basic usage, this thing is slick as hell. If you want some thing robust and are willing to spend a little more, the HP dv series is fantastic. My coworker has a dv6 and it's one sweet little laptop. I believe it's this one: Best Buy Link

Whoever is in charge, please change the link in the description of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry2ySc5EeHc&feature=channel Link is wrong. There's an extra "i" between TAS and Videos.

Well, if no one else is doing anything, I'm tempted to do a playaround. I'm sure this game has loads of potential for a funny goofy playthrough.
If it's even halfway as entertaining as Family Feud, this will be fun. Make sure you do the Aztec and Egypt levels too.

That was awesome. (Double funny that the link includes "Live" at the title, because it's neither live plus things that were are now dead. Har har.)

I didn't know Dallas had a capital. And what does it have to do with weather forecast? Man, I've seen dumb videos, but my brain exploded from the dumbness of that one.
You did understand it's a parody, right? The description itself makes it clear (well, at least the tags do). Also there are clear telltale signs, such as a 555 telephone number. It's not like it tries very hard to hide being a parody.
I know. It's a very stupid parody. NOT FUNNY.

Just a little update. I am currently on Sword Man's stage, the 7th Robot Master. Route: Grenade, Frost, Tengu, Clown, Astro, Aqua, Sword, Search Compared to AngerFist's WIP, I saved at least 20 seconds through Duo, and over 10 seconds on the first area of Sword Man's stage.
That seems like a weird order. I always thought having Search Missiles for Astro (and bustering Sword Man) was better then that route. Interesting...

Sorry Nash, but the Gruebot sucks. It's bumping up 5 year old topics again.

Original? How original do you want? This was in use till the end of 2008: http://tasvideos.org/wiki.exe?page=FrontPage&rev=87
The way it is now, with new releases, recommended, and new submissions being the same size. I guess the term I wanted was "the way it was before". But uh...yeah.

I agree that recent publications should go back to the original size. The scrunched layout is hard to read. It's partially due to the font, IMO.

But both of them completed the game in the same amount of time, wich means both have the same "bad quality"... Is it easier to vote No on a bad game choice just because it was made by a newbie? Never mind, I'm just wondering.
Of course it's always easier to dismiss the n00b as not being proficient at something. If you were presented two videos - one with Michael Jordan hitting 25 3-pointers in 60 seconds, while another of some random guy on the street doing the same thing, and you were told one of them had video editing so that all 25 baskets are hit by both players (but you can't tell which has it and which doesn't), which are you more likely to assume has the editing?

While the premise appears amusing, the game itself is very boring. Voting meh only because you appear to have ran it well, but I can't vote yes when it's not entertaining at all.

Outside of being slow, this game runs very well on Dolphin (I'm using R5073) and would make a great game for entertainment purposes by aiming for high score. On my first playthough, I used the Wiimote settings. Personally, anybody that is honestly attempting this should set up the emulator for Classic Controller, since that would allow them to use L/R to control the pods. Yeah, this score sucks. According to the official scoreboard, it would be tied for 1706 worldwide. Whoever would do this would have to get a score of at least 1,122,700 (which is the current record as of this post, set by ONI.P of Japan). But I was just fooling around with the game to see how well it played. Official Rankings Page: http://www.hudson.co.jp/wii/wiiware/starsoldier/usa/e/ranking/ranking_w2_01.html

On one hand, I'd love to see somebody do a run of Star Soldier R just to destroy the best 2MM and 5MM records. I think it would be good entertainment. On the other hand, if even I can do this on Quick Shot Mode (which is manual, BTW), then it's too damn easy. :-P (The best videos I've seen of QSM performed on a real Wii are in the 17.X range.)

Yeah...her user name is StrangenessDSS. Nah, kidding, I'm not married to her and my wife isn't a member on here or SDA. I don't love any TAS members. Though zidnax did help me with my ActRaiser run... >_>;;

IIRC, SSBM have v1.0 v1.1 v1.2
I know for certain SSBM and Metroid Prime have revisions. (I have a v1.02 SSBM and v1.00 Metroid Prime.) Games serials are imprinted on the backside of the disc - DOL-XXXX-0-00 where the double numbers represent the version (the 4 X's are the game's serial).

If it's the same as this, I would say this is grounds for auto rejection.

Thanks, that fixed the problem with my desktop. My laptop still can't, but given it's a very low powered netbook, I doubt there's anything that can be done about it (it's an OpenGL issue, if I remember right).

It may be possible that since it's trying to install off of a non-CD/DVD drive, that it's looking at the USB drive you're installing off of? It's a weird possibility, cause since it's writable, it may be looking there?

Does anybody besides me have problems with the GC Pad and Wiimote plugins? I can never get them to be recognized, thus I can never play anything with this emulator.

I tried watching the encode, but damn there's so much static, it hurts my ears. Bad encode, or does the game's audio (or the emulator's emulation of it) suck that badly?
