The categories on the description seemed to be confusing this with the Albus run (which, BTW, should be linked in the description too).

Does the SMW Bowser strat of keeping one of the toys into the 2nd phase not work in the GBA version? Or is it slower? Or did you just forget about it?

If you are good with BAT files, ncftp is a great FTP program. I use it for automatic file transfers in some of my programs. I mainly use the ncftpput and ncftpget portions for dealing with transfers to and from my servers (respectively).

Thanks for pointing that out; it has been changed. It turns out this isn't the first Sonic game on a Nintendo console after all, so that's been fixed as well. By the way, I love all the little hammer tricks in this run. I was entertained throughout. I know I'm late, but I'm voting Yes anyway.
That's a much better wording. And good that the facts are fixed too, though I didn't know about their release dates, so I wasn't concerned about that.

Sonic Advance meant Sonic the Hedgehog's first appearance on a Nintendo console, and he took all his friends with him.
Using meant is a bad choice of word. I think it creates a poor sentence structure. Changing it to "was" would allow the sentence to make a lot more sense.

IMO, it dragged a bit there in the middle, but once you got the one that increases your movement speed, it became awesome. I guess it's not possible to get that earlier?
Nope, because you can't get to Drac's castle until you've saved everybody and fought Albus and the boss that follows, plus you need Wallman's glyph to get to the portion of the castle that has the movement glyph.

Most of them are awesome, one is disturbing. You can guess which one.

The MLP:FiM comics seem very different in terms of artwork from the show. Look at, for example, their depiction of Queen Chrysalis. She's borderline nightmare fuel!
Yeah, but the authors have specifically stated that they're doing the comics specifically for the bronies and don't have to adhere to the same rules that the TV folks do. Speaking of comics, I saw a sample of the 3D Comic #1 up on Deviantart. It's 20% cooler than 2D.

Don't really understand why you keep throwing the crosses through the boss doors. I assume it saves time somehow? But slowing down to collect more hearts seems to cost quite some time aswell. Isn't it possible like in the old games to jump in one direction and face another? That way you could get 3 candles with 1 cross with no delay. I dunno, haven't played this game pretty much at all.
If you notice the RNG to Critical bar, every time Simon jumps, it slightly increases the RNG. So slowing down for a few hearts probably saves time for that. Also, I must say, for being probably near 70 during Harmony (since it takes place 50 years after Simon's Quest), Simon is still badass. I enjoyed it. Probably better in the vault though, but not by much.

Runs like this are the reason for the vault. Well done, interesting, though not entertaining. But would still be a great addition to the site. Yes for Vault.

Only thing I don't like is the fake death music kill glitch, especially on Shadow Man's stage. Best music in the game. :( Other than that, yes vote. Amazing run. Now can somebody hack out the BGM and then add in the awesome remix album by rushjet1? Link to video

Voting no because Pluto isn't a planet. Also, why group Neptune with Mercury/Venus/Mars and not the other Outer Planets? Silly game.

So not only is the game not safe, but the credits aren't either. NICE. Easy yes.

I've just noticed that speed demos archive accepts the SNES speedrun of BT&DD as a record for the genesis version of that game. Am I the only one who finds this to be in contradiction with their verification policy? Is this a widely accepted practice in the speedrunning scene even outside of SDA?
I'd assume it's because the game was released on multiple consoles, so it'd come up archived under SNES and Genesis. Checking the full list of games reveals the following: "Battletoads & Double Dragon for SNES/Gen (0:21:27)" so it would seem my initial assumption would be correct. In general though, from what I know, a game on different consoles are in the same category unless there are large version differences between consoles.
Your assumption is correct indeed. If a Genesis run was ever done, it would be a separate category and listed likely on the same page. Generally the page listing is based upon title names. If a remake is a different name (say Rondo and Dracula X Chronicles) they get different pages. If they're mostly/completely the same and have the same name, same page. If it's vastly different (like Sonic the Hedgehog on Master System and Genesis) then it's different pages.

So apparently the last trailer for the MLP Movie revealed the initial part of the plot. Somebody stole Twilight's Elements of Harmony crown and took it through the mirror. Said thief is annoying school girl snob. It's worth viewing the whole thing yourself, but I will say...there's hope for this thing yet. Link to video

I found this game a little too long to be worth a Yes vote; the action didn't have a whole lot of variety for me. However, this is definitely well-played, and the stages at the end are definitely more interesting than the beginning stages. Good job! I have one question: does the game intend for you to get an extra jump by throwing enemies downward, or is that a glitch?
Yes, that is an intended mechanic and is explained in Stage 1-1 (you couldn't complete the level w/o it. As for the run itself, DAMN some of those shortcuts. The one in 5-1 blew my mind. I was going "WTF is he doing?" before seeing the skip on green route. A few of the other small path skips I don't believe are possible on the Wii version. The Gelg Bolm fight is also quite different than the Wii one and appears to be much faster here. Overall, great run. I enjoyed it. I don't know if it's good enough for Moons, but it's definitely a great TAS and should be on the site.
