No, it's not Power Rangers
I contest this statement. This is from a line of shows (Super Sentai) that was used as material for the Power Rangers. Specifically, this is the season shown in Japan before the season we know as "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" (Zyuranger).

For the most part, from casual observation, it seems pretty good. Couple things I would question at this point. 1 - Jump attacking the weakest putties, which could be faster than standing and attacking. 2 - Using the barrels in Stage 2 to damage enemies, if possible (I don't know...test it). 3 - Using the morphed form bomb. 4 - On the shielded putties (where did that come from? Those weren't in the series...), try not to knock them down too fast. The ones in Morphed form near the end of Stage 2, you knocked down twice without them dying. Possible to attack, pause, then attack more w/o sending them flying? 5 - Anticipate the 2nd boss' positions. You seemed to be surprised a few times. Not too bad a run though. But damn Billy looks awful in this game. Though I guess it's funnier to watch him go from a fat kid to suddenly taller, thinner, and super buff in morphed form.

I like how you didn't just beat the game, but you cleared everything off the screen in doing so. That's just SOOO a nice touch. YES vote.

Eh, it's just a Maza encoded file. It probably wont work anyways. ^^;; (I'm guessing it's Maza since it was last edited by him.)

From my playthroughs, things to note if doing Actraiser Special on the Japanese version: 1 - Spikes are instant kill (if vulnerable). This does cut out a few shortcuts, as well as makes a few other routes more tretcherous (like Filmoa Act II's lower route at the start. 2 - The floating skulls in Aitos Act I can't be destroyed with your sword. 3 - The platforms in Bloodpool Act I boss fight are laid out different. 4 - Casandra Act I and II's boss fights are different. The Antlion in Act I is considerably faster and spews more rocks. The Pharoah in Act II's smaller arrow spewing heads don't fire a shot an disappear...they stay and can fire very rapidly. This will REALLY come into play in Death Heim. 5 - Marana Act I's boss is much harder, as the vulnerable spot goes in and out quickly. The floating orbs are harder to destroy too, as their vines stay more in a horizontal line than vertical. 6 - Filmoa Act I's level layout is noticably different, mainly at the start, just after the restart point, and around the big tree. 7 - In a few spots, there are additional flying enemies. Aitos Act II's 2nd section, and Northwall Act I's 3rd section (just after the ice sled) are a couple pesty areas. 8 - A few enemies do more damage. The worst is the flames just before Aitos Act II, which do 4 points of damage ON NORMAL. I can't imagine what they do on Special. 9 - A number of full apples have either been removed, repositioned, or changed to half-apples. I'm sure there's probably more things I'm missing that would apply, but that's just some general info that I thought I'd point out from my playing.

Great work. Can't wait to see what's cooked up for perfect simulation work. I've been playing around more with 100% gameplay, which is a big pain in the rear. I'll see what I can learn from doing that that might help you out. --- On a sidenote, after having finally sat down, and finally beaten the Japanese version of ActRaiser, I bring the following comparison into this discussion. Do you want to continue doing the US version (which is considerably faster) or move over to the Japanese version (which is considerably harder)? Likely there's about 1/2 time difference between the two, but some of the bosses are REALLY nasty if you play the Japanese version (especially Marana Act I). I'm thinking it's probably appropiate to keep doing the normal game in English (thus the US version) and if the extra mode is done, do it with the Japanese Special mode, showing off the harder gameplay. ...assuming it doesn't drive you insane before you finish it.

Our screenshotting bot needs a little work. Half of those shots suck.

Screenshot needs to be replaced, as it doesn't match the current movie (player only has 2 life at that point in the video).

Normally, no, but with the patch you can use L/R to "tilt" the GBA. And I want to see a 100% gold medal run of this please. Thanks. :)

The advantage to modifying GENS instead is that you get all the sophisticated TAS tools already to go. Modifying a new emulator would mean crude tools as first. Though I am happy either way as long as we can see SMS submissions soon :P
If I remember correctly, somebody modified a version of Gens to have SMS and GG support, and called it Gens Plus. Maybe if the source was found, it could be applied to Gens?

That worked (coupled with the fact that I had to unzip the ROM). OK, good run. Yes vote. :)

Can we get a copy of 9z back on the emulator's page? This movie is desyncing for me on 9f and 9.5b at the end of the 2nd boss.

I say, what's the point in voting? Anything that beats a run by nitsuja is a shoe-in for publication.

Going back and doing a little testing, using the powered up blast in the beginning of Stage 1 Section 2, presently I'm 31 frames faster. I'm gonna play around a little more at this one spot to see if I can shave a couple more frames off. I also noticed in stage 2 a little hiccup in my controls just before the boss. Need to fix that too when I get back there. --- WIP3 Stage 1 & 2 improved, Stage 3 cleared. I restarted at Stage 1 section 2. Only thing is that I know I fired too many shots at the Stage 1 2nd boss (he seems to die in 6 normal or 3 power shots) but this doesn't seem to have cost time, and too many shots at the 1st phase of Stage 2 boss (before he gets the hatchet) and this may have cost a few frames. Ah, the downside of frame advance. ^^;; The 2nd section of Stage 4 I know is gonna be a pain in the ass. Wish me luck.

If you can do more damage in the Japanese version, use it. Not like there's really any dialog to read.

It still seems weird to me that Phil completed a movie with somebody other than Genisto. But it works just as well. YES vote.

While the improvements (mainly at the very end of the run) were nice, I actually am going from yes to meh for mainly one reason. Why did you take hits at Minotaur? That just looks...ugly, especially since the rest of the run is clean in that department. Looking back as well, there's a few spots where you don't initially use the whip dash glitch, but you use it later on without a reason. Overall it's very good though. Just needs some new cleanups.

I haven't had any issues with DS games on flash carts using WiFi. I've played Tetris DS, Mario Kart DS, Mario vs Donkey Kong 2, and Club House Games...all worked just fine.

This game was actually popular from the arcades, not the Genesis.
If that was the case, then all ratings should be undone and we should all have to re-rate everything based on the new sense of average.
No, the scale is not based upon a mean. If 1 is "bad" and 10 is "good", 5 is "average". But the mean would be the average if you added up all the run's scores and divided it by the number of runs on the site. Which may or may not be the same "average" as average is. BTW, I still think you suck, but that's a different topic entirely that only SDA visitors would understand. ^_~

My only beef with the run is that you didn't end of with 99 lives, only 96. This looks like poor planning and is thus noticeable flaw in the run. 3 more extra lives could have easily been obtained in one of the auto-scrolling levels. In the grand scheme of things, this is a minor flaw though. If someone was insane enough to improve the run, then I would hope that would get corrected.
I was looking back at the run with this in mind and found a few spots that would take little or no time to get 3 more 1-ups: Star Course 5 (Normal Gate) - Smash one more turtle Tubular - 5 Dragon Coins 1-UP Awesome - 5 Dragon Coins 1-UP Roy's Castle - 5 Dragon Coins 1-UP and/or P-Switch to bring out the 1-UP blocked by solid blocks That's just a few...there could be more.

About the only way to do it faster would be to find some way to create a combo greater than 32. It might be possible...I don't know.
