Hmm, didn't use those better half loop tricks I described earlier in the thread, I'm pretty sure I could cut over .1 off again with them. If you'd post the WIP I could mod it to include the better tricks and then you could see exactly what I'm talking about. And I've got a couple ideas to improve dragster as well.

So can you post the WIP so far? What'd you differently on zoom zoo?

I think I'd rather see lowest in-game time a bit more because I think that has more merit, and would be faster than a low%. Even if the x-ray part is boring, the run as a whole would still be very intriguing.

I'd really like to see a fastest in-game all glitches run and/or a 7% low% run.

Was it not your 24.15 first lap I improved to 24.02 with the 5 improvements I mentioned? "This time, it's a third of an update. It's about Zoom Zoo (the second track). I've now completed 1 lap, and the time I got was 24.15 seconds." Anyway you've got 23.97 now, how much does the the faster the computer player help?

Has anyone really tried to jump slash through that door in ToT as child so you can skip all 3 stones? You can jump slash through other cracks like it, seems like it's worth some serious testing.

How's this coming? If you posts WIPs after first lap I could see I can improve it. I improved that last guy's first lap on the second course in about 4 spots.

That would work for master quest right? There was a guy that always wanted to know how to skip the trials in MQ without hover boots.

You got to admit though that there is some intrinsic value for a simple, non-subjective achievement of getting the fastest time. Entertainment value is subjective and a way different goal. I'd be interested in any run that's faster than an other, no matter how much less entertaining it may be. This sounds like an interesting glitch, it's always interesting to see games get broken badly. If there's a run with much less percent items collected, someone should submit that. Also if there's faster ways to beat the game but you aren't using them you can't claim the title goes for fastest time and you should say that there's a faster way to beat it in your comments. Same for low%

NBMB means "no boss/mini boss" and indeed there has been a way found by Kejardon to skip even motherbrain. Also this brings the lowest possible item% down to 7, though it requires another very boring glitch no one will use. (pausing repeatedly makes you unable to die, but takes extreme amounts of realtime to do)
If it's only 7% why hasn't the low% run been replaced with that? Someone said they thought 0:15 was possible with this, isn't that pretty fast, does that beat game time record? Would the real time be much different than an hour like the current low% run is?

What is NBMB? No Bosses or Mother Brain? If you can beat the game by glitching into tourian and glitching past the mother brain I'd really like to see it, I'm sure others would too. There's speedruns for Zelda 2 and link to the past where they use 2-directions at once to go almost straight to the end. This sounds at least as good as that, The going through walls glitch seems to have a lot more merit and thoughtfulness than pressing 2-directions at the same time that you can't do with a normal controller.

Has anyone tried getting into walls like you can in metroid? I don't think the doors ever close so you can't do it that way, but in metroid you can also do it if you freeze 2 or 3 enemies in the right place under a ceiling. You then use some morphing tricks to climb through them an into the ceiling. You can also use the blocks that reappear after you shot them away. Does anyone know if similar morphing tricks can be done in super metroid, like morph then unmorph to climb 1 half block, or add a jump at the the right time and you climb a full block. Without tricks like this you can't climb inside a wall. Then is there anyway to cheat and test to see what potential shortcuts there would be if you could find a way to get through a wall? A map would be nice, but that doesn't tell you everything, because warping through a wall to get somewhere can take you some place unexpected using 2D logic.

I'm guessing AKA just used turbo to do the side hops, which should average about 1 missed frame every 2 side hops or every 17*2=34 frames. 3 seconds is 180 frames, so miss that many you'd need to spend 180*34=6120 frames, or 102 seconds. Of course I'm guessing AKA "3 seconds could actually be more like 2.5 seconds which would equate to 85 seconds. So if AKA did a stretch that took longer than this side hopping is probably faster. But it's really not relevant for long distances since neither would ever be used. It needs to tested case by case in the short distances that either could and would be used.

Are you sure it doesn't work on the MAME version because the emulator doesn't allow up+down? Was the NES version a MAME port? What's so cool if it worked is that you'd have like exactly enough time to get to finish the level, without a half second to spare, if you can even make it in time at all.

How about Dr. Jackle and Mr. Hide It's arguably the worst nintendo game ever made and very hard, I've never seen anyone beat it. A cult classic!! I think there'd be some good opportunities to for damage boosting too!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M_4Yqk65f8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5RSyPA-1nk&feature=related

oh it doesn't work on arcade? that sucks, cause it could be used to get a way higher score, it'd be supremely leet to find something that huge on game this old, and coveted.

So the bonus timer bug kills you pretty early, before you have time to get half way up the stage on level 99. However, I saw a NES TAS of donkey kong where the guy climbs down on the first ladder and appear at the top of the screen. I'm guessing this was a down-up bug. I'm wondering if you could use this to beat level 99. Does anyone even know what happens if you do beat it? Is it possible to cheat and use dip switches to beat the level. I'm guessing TG banned use of down-up/left-right, it's a shame cause it would be really cool to double the much totted donkey kong high score using this.

Is this done yet? When can we start making videos for arcade emulators? Also is there a way to slow down the game with any of the current emus or frame advance?

Well I got it to work by leaving the pacman.zip in the rom folder and also extracting all the files in the .zip to the rom folder. Just doing one or the other wasn't enough to work. Is there a better to get it to work?

I don't see any option to load a rom, it just has a list of a whole bunch of roms, but I when try to play one of them it says "unable to create the direct 3d device" and then that it couldn't find a whole bunch of files. I have a rom I want to play but it doesn't show up on the list.
