on airman stage on the first set of big faces with 2 screws why don't you land on the right side of the last screw instead jumping over it and the gap, I thought you moved faster on the ground. Also, for small jumps before falling where you hit a ceiling, Zoizite found it was faster to do large jump even though you hit the ceiling anyway, are you doing this?

If anyone figures out the jump up to the door in stage 2 I know another place where it might be able to save time if possible. It's not the most obvious, can anyone figure it out?

Intresting idea. So collecting every single missles carrier gives you just two extra missiles. I think you may be able to bomb boost into tourian without the icebeam. I think I know two possible ways to get through there without using missiles: The first one would seriously take something like 5 minutes. You would go to the bottom of the midle column and door glitch up from the bottom right blue door all the way to the red door at the top. Then you need any enemy to boost you back into the door while your inside it. This action may also be possible with a bomb but I havn't been able to do it. You'd need to be somewhat to the left side of the wall while stuck in it and under certain point relavtive to the red door height. Then place a bomb, move right a little while inside the wall, then climb up to the red door before the bomb goes off. If pulled off I believe it would work. The second way if possible would be to door glitch from the lower right column into the upper right column. It's unlikely to be done but you may also be able to door glitch from somewhere else in Kraid's lair and eventually end up in the area behind the red door. *edit* door glitch from bottom right column doesn't work.

Anyone up for making a new run? I could help a lot with it. I think there's about 30 seconds that can be saved and lots of new cool stuff.

This is for a real speedrun, so it's on a real NES. I don't continue. I supose what would be most helpfull is knowing the relationship between the start frame and the 0045 value. Also, there's two start screens; is the frame that seeds the 0045 counted from power up/reset to actual game start, or actual start screen to actual game start? Could power on vs reset effect it? I guess 1:13 left is pretty good considering the first TAS had 1:11 and the second 1:15, I get 1:13 about 1/3 of the time now.

I've found lack of a technodrome my first 8 times now :\ I was hoping to have some estimate of when a good time to start the new game was, but I am clueless.

I think it'd be helpfull if a good TASer made a webcam video showing he goes about working on a TAS. If your unfamilar with all shortcuts and good ways to set up a config it can be a very clunky and slow process.

another Legend of zelda would be neat, good game for speed runs and TAs. If your into SNES I'd suggest X-men mutant apocalypse, I could help, also super mario kart is hot right now.

ah I see. So is the value at 0045 pseudo random with the frame you start on affecting it? Knowing exactly how 0045 is determined would be what I'm most intrested in. So idealy I could tell what all the frames are where 0055 would be 2.

Awsome work, thank you. So how did you conclude the 50/25/25 distribution? I'm not sure how to use the cheats option to check on the address value. I can make an adress value whatever I want.

Here's one where it's in the lower right spawn (medium speed) I could get a top right one or some WIPs if you want. http://students.washington.edu/blakep/other/Teenage%20Mutant%20Ninja%20Turtles%20(U)%20[!].fc9

I am going to do a speedrun of this game very soon. The boss to stage 5 is sedo-randomly at the end of 1 of 3 sewer paths. It seems to be determined when you start a new game or continue. I'd like to know what I can do to give me the best chance of getting the best of the three sewers, for I'll restart if I don't get it. Can anyone help with this?

Whatever is done I'd sure like to see it. Maybe you could include the lame shortcuts as a bonus feature.

It'd be nice if someone could anaylze the coding to see how the items are determined. I'd sure like to see a run that uses stars to do awsome things. Do you need to be at most 5th place to get a star? Might be faster drop back to fifth right when you get your first question mark to get a star, then maybe get another item right after you use the star. I also, think the run where you drop back as far as you can and then get back into first at the very end would be very awsome.

Ah I see now :) Sounds Great! I would most like to see all those amazing star shroom and/or feather combos put together in one run. Anything but the really lame shorcuts.

This would actually be an awsome game to TA. There's lots of special shortcuts you can do with stars mushrooms and feather combos. Maybe someone get one of the world record guys to do it. Just teach him how to do TASes. A fall behind then catch up would be kind of intresting too. Lighting bolt then stars and mushrooms, might be faster to get two super items at once by lopping around the question mark section.

I know it's the dragon warrior thread but there's people like acliam I was hopping might see my post. I really need to know how the code works like acliam did for dragon warrior.

I found you can get a mech knight before the 3 tight-rope parts if you enter and exit the the bulding when the level first starts. I think there's a good chance you could save time by doing this and skipping the first two rope sequences. There may be a faster way to get the mech knight but I havn't found it.

Does anyone think they could take a look at TMNT to figure out how the technodrome location is established?

All scroll pickups are at least 20 seconds out of the way. Being under half health increases your damage for everything expect maybe not raph. I've heard it's different for different versions, such as leo doing less when under half.

Laser soldiers die to two single suriken hits while your under half health. This would greatly speed up the long narrow hallway. *EDIT* 2 suriken at any health work.

Who worked with the dragon warrior code so he could see which frames to use hurt on? I was wondering if he could do something similar for TMNT.

From the screen, you can only observe the integer part of his position, but the game actually tracks a quite precise subpixel position.
That makes sense, I always suspected that was the case for most games.
