I liked this game a lot because it was 2 player simultanious; doing 2 players would slow you down quite a bit right? I didn't like how you were expected to shoot every block to fit secret exits. Do you need these to go to all the right levels, or how do you go to all the right levels, and once you miss one can you go back to it?

How's things coming? I found a cool trick that might be usefull for a 100% run: In the room to the right of Kraid's room get the tube bug that comes out of the lava to follow you when you jump up the secret tunnel then shoot up and freeze it halfway inside the tunnel on your way down. If you do two two-phase bomb jumps, one up to the frozen bug and one off of it you can get up with normal jump, you might only need one of them to be two-phase. With high jump you might not need any bombs.

It doesn't scroll up untill I jump for me, but it wouldn't matter cause your going to jump anyway.

Avoiding the second hit seems like the way to go. 111 frames? that's a lot more than I would have thought. So I'm guessing going into ball form before the door glitch to lower the screen a little didn't help?

I've experience something just like that too, I don't think it's that rare.

I think your missing the first screen of cutman in that map.

Stuning the second to last purple flyer in Ridley's might help as well ;) In the long multiviola tunnel, near the start, a 2 or 3 group cluster come from the left. If you keep moving left, into the multiviola before the cluster, you can get them to apear sooner; then I think you have to move back a bit to avoid getting hit by the muliviola before the cluster. This might work on other parts but I think this is the only one where they are close enough together (the cluster and the one before it).

Does every hit in Ridley's hideout take away 24 units? I was thinking you might want to take another hit somewhere after the multiviolas before Ridley. Also, stuning the crawler above the purple bar in my jpeg might help.

Your very welcome :) This run is looking so near flawless it's hard to come up with ways that might improve it, your very good at this. As far as getting more health I think your best option(s) might be the first 2 pipe bugs in Ridley's hideout, and maybe this idea: The thick purple bar is where you would kill the crawler. I don't know if it's worth going back to, but stunning the zoomer by the first MP might reduce lag. *Edit: right before doing the door glitch, some point after you've jumped to kill the crawler, if you go into ball form the screen scrolls down a little bit more.*

Using the same trick I planned for the Bombman tunnel (but discarded).
Right, but it's not a simple vertical wall for the last 3 screens (not counting the boss screen), and you have some ladders you might be able to grab, but I'm affraid they don't quite extend all the way to the bottom of the screen.

Ya, juice will be an issue, I would think you'd want to get some off the green helicopter guys, maybe 2 at once. I'm curious to know how you plan to handle the last 3 screens of that column.

I'm guessing non-spin jumping didn't reduce the slow-down you get after a certain height? Do you know how much time is cost to avoid the Ridley hits, maybe avoiding previous hits would be worth it as well as picking health in other places. After you enter the first door, after doing the door glitch, you have to wait for the screen to scroll up. I was thinking this could be helped my either jumping/bouncing at some place where you need to move horizontally or by falling further you need to since the screen scrolls faster when falling at full speed. Because the platform under the door is fairly wide I think the later is ruled out. So I see only the two places you might want to add a small jump, where you unmorph and have to touch down breifly, and the final platform before you enter the door, the later looking the most promising. *Edit, might want to try this after exiting other vertical columns, I noticed the screen has to scroll down a little even if you didn't do the door glitch*

Here’s what I got for Norfair. These are just ideas, I don’t know if they’ll actually save time. First row: 1. Doing the ball rolling technique instead of jumping over most gaps. 2. Stunning the purple flyer to keep him off your screen longer. 3. Stunning the 2 lava jumpers when it’s just you and them on the screen so they won’t appear later, or do so for less time on the second jump. Right most column: 4. Can’t remember if this works, but go in ball form while waiting on the door to bring the screen down so the top ripper won’t be on it. 5. While falling, don’t come out of ball form until your ready to shoot the door since this slows your vertical progress. Second row: 6. With the encounter with the last purple flyer, go into ball form instead of jumping off the platform and then jump later so you can go under him and spend less time in the air.

I guess your ruling out zipping in the spike room with floating platforms in wily1, and that small tunel before the lader. What about doing vertical screen wrapping at the last column of wily2?

They don't "apear" but are they "there" maybe?

Can you spawn item1,2 or 3?

If you don't re-enter, you can't interact with onscreen objects (other than getting damage from them) because when you shoot something, it actually goes to the next screen (where Megaman is), not to the screen that is displayed (and where the objects are).
I understand that, but can you interact with objects on the screen you're actually in (that's not being displayed). Maybe go as far to kill the boss like this. Also, what happens if you do the exit to the right through the wall trick while your already being displayed in the screen previous to the one your actually in?

Ok, that finally makes sense ;\ I question the screen he choose to re-enter on, I think that might be the second best, but the screen after the one he re-entered on looks like it would save considerable time from being able to go from the left edge to the right edge. *Edit: nm, you re-enter on the previous screen.* Also, what happens if you don't re-enter? Small thing, but it really seems like you should leave the first screen with the yellow bars that kill you on the left side of the bottom platform, as was done in Morimoto's previous run, so that you don't have to walk across to the left on the next screen.

That looks awsome, does this mean your going to be doing another run soon, if so I'll try and scrutinise the rest of the last run.

I had some crazy ideas for the wily stages but some how I doubt they'll work :\

Can somone explain what happens in the quickman level when they do that long zip through the top of the map and it ends with the tunnel turning down, how do they get to the next screen from inside the wall?

"no knowledge of future", that's makes it pretty hard to do any better other than making it so only the MB lags behind. Isn't each MB block a specific and exact image that's always the same... It seems as though bombman is pretty much squared away, can we get a jpegs for the other levels please :)

yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking, except it'd be really nice if you could place the first 16block MB such that you could place the other 2 with only 1 jump, maybe adjust the placement of the very first MB. Maybe you could get a large and a small powerup and then do F.

Why is two refils with only two switches unlikely? Couldn't you grab them from consecutive cannons? Also I think you could do F with only 1 extra beam if you used the technique I brought up with the iceman jpeg.
