The only time it is allowed is with the DS or PSP. You have to build some craaaazy contraption to keep the damn system still as you play it. Also, no webcams :P

When playing with ALSA, the volume control works, but sometimes the sound is noisy.
Turn your PCM down from max.
It's not at max, and it doesn't explain why it's terribly noisy, but if I pause and resume playing, the sound becomes ok.
Could be some static on the actual sound device.

You make yourself sound really stupid when you say things like that. Try giving examples or actual reasons as to why mac sucks, using (of course) more than two words per sentence. Always helpful to throw in magnanimus words, too.

these mood avatars are great for people who have multiple personalities/moods like me. the problem with avatars is that i absorb their personalities. for example if i have an angry avatar, i feel like i have to be angry every time i post. and if i have a funny avatar, i have to be funny, and if i have an intelligent looking avatar, i have to be intelligent. i guess i don't have much self control if i can't realize i'm an infinite spirit who can be anything
Reminds me of this. http://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic1-072108.php I seem to be referring to this comic strip really often lately.
That actually made me laugh out loud. Thanks for making my day a bit better bisqwit :)
