Agreed. The workbench is not a WIP-bench. It is for finished movies that are ready to be judged.

Wow, way to forget to watch the WIP Alex. The second level looked good to me, one question about level one, though. When you shoot the alien who is climbing the ladder, you then have to climb down said ladder. Would it be faster to get hit by the alien and fall all the way to the bottom of the ladder? Otherwise, I think it looked good. Oh, in case you didn't know, pressing the . key should show the frames played in the movie... compare the last input frames, and you have your frames saved :)

Bisqwit, 1) What aspects of humans do you find the most amazing*? What surprises you about the human race? 2)**Out of curiosity, is Finland (or any other country in Europe) as centered on Education/College? In order to have a good job, good income ect. in the US, overall, you needed to go to college. I was wondering if that was the same in other countries. *Used amazing for lack of a better word. **Yes, I am an American who probably came off as inept and closed minded about the world around me. However, I don't live in Europe, so I don't know what the job market is like, and what said job market looks for in employees.

Yeah, but also, that helps avoid the witchhunts, does it not? :P This rating system shares the feature from the published movie rating system, in that users who have few posts (i.e. are lurkers) have considerably less influence with their vote than users who have a number of them. (Their vote is always counted, though, at has at least some non-marginal influence.) Also players and judges are considered more influential compared to regular viewers. Anyone's existing votes will still gain more ground as their status changes on the forums. With this in mind, the voting restriction from logged-in lurkers was removed.
Woah, cool idea... dammit, man, stop being so good

Don't know much about the game, but I was interested when I watched your level 1 wip. Give me ~24 hours and I will have something to say. Whether it is helpful or not is questionable :)

Anyway, it is nice to see this game TASed, though it is incredibly unfortunate that they just totally threw away everything they had from the first Rocket Knight Adventures, in order to build this boring game from scratch.
Yeah, the whole "Hey, I STILL can't get past the first level!" was great. Ahhh, memories. :) And Ferret, I still love you! I gave you a 6 across the board... so, like, a C+/B- ala 1960 (aka, good grades :P) The run got a bit boring every so often, mainly in the middle of the auto-scrollers... but you did an excellent job in keeping/attempting to keep the viewer entertained. Don't take the technical vote wrong, I think it looks great. However, considering this is the first possibly published TAS of this game, I feel there is more to improve (such as a glitch or something) Anyways, great run. Voted Yes.

Well, contrary to popular belief, some people don't read the sm64 thread for every post (or ever). So there!

Is there a reason that you can't BLJ through key doors? Can you not get enough momentum, or something? Also, why not BLJ through that last star door, instead of having to "sit" through the text that tells you you need 70 stars?

bossy gets my vote as well. This is the first time I have felt like I needed to voice my opinion past the "I like this idea. *click*" stage.

Or just have a check for if you've posted in the topic. If you've posted, no text at the top.
Umm... no? To clarify, the text appears in all the submissions that I have posted in, voted on, or both. EDIT: Oh, wait... I misunderstood that you were making a suggestion, not that what you were saying was how the text behaves right now. I'll sit down and shut up now.
OH! After the 20th time reading BOTH of your posts it finally dawns on me. Good call Apo123! I hate morning retarded-ness.

As many as needed, easily. The last problem was unoptimization, yet firing for no reason at all looks unoptimized. The solution: lose the frames for perfection.

I think there SHOULD be a numeric representation of votes. An uneditable, unclickable counter fo sorts... just to make the judge's job easier when trying to figure out how many yeses and nos have aquired for run X.

Maybe I should add "post a YES reply" / "post a NO reply" / "post a MEH reply" buttons to where the poll was, and those would simply start composing a reply to the thread with "Yes vote" etc. prefilled automatically in the post :)
Best idea I have heard thus far.

I appreciate your contrary opinion but I still have to disagree with that. I think optimization should always come before entertainment because optimization is factual and is a more fair criteria to base your publication decision on rather than entertainment. If people don't find a run entertaining than they can always just not watch it but if we have outsiders coming to the site craving for a dose of OoT speed. They'll have it. I don't consider a TAS to be a source of video entertainment (as much as it is). It's always been appealing to me as a benchmark of current knowledge for any title at that point in time. It's a way to tell how fast something is possible, no questions asked. Although OoT is a boring game to watch through in one sitting, it's there to show you that it's even a possibility to watch a classic epic adventure game in one sitting which not too long ago, was an alien concept. It's great to make a run entertaining, don't get me wrong. But, I think it shouldn't over prioritize optimization.
You cannot optimize this nontuplet run any farther. Wonder why this was rejected..

I admit it. I voted no. I was not entertained by the movie. In fact, I hadn't made it past the long spiel by the Deku Tree before fast forwarding... there was nothing interesting that made me say "Oh gee, wow, I HAVE to watch the rest of this run". I did sit through the old movie, but only with JXQ's commentary. Without it, I would have shut that sucker off faster than a circuit breaker could flip. I answered the question: Did you enjoy watching this movie. No. I didn't. Best of luck getting the majority and getting published, though :)

This was what I would have written in another thread, (where Bisqwit described the downtime) but it was too offtopic, and I think the question could do better with its own topic. Does router crashing happen that often? The wireless-router I have tends to need rebooting a lot, and I was hoping it was just *that* router, not something that happens frequently... This happens with both a wireless and wired connection, however the wired connection reboot is required much less frequently. I am looking into another router, preferably cheap, and was wondering if anyone had suggestions of what I should get. Preferably something sold in the US, so I don't have to pay much for shipping.[/url]

honestly i think u lack the motivation and/or time to finish the run. its been quite more then a year since u posted in this thread. so the fact is i got the motivation and the time :) and i will finish the run. if u dont tell me that youll be done by 1.1.2009 then im doin it. if u got any tipps for me, tell me. otherwise, i hope my finished run will make u do it ur way to obsolete me ;)
#1) BoMF: you got BURNED! #2) PreddY: Dude, just DO IT! He will be happy to help you out, I am sure. Although I can't speak for him, I would bet he wouldn't mind you working on/taking over the project. Make WIPs, make progress, then maybe he will get the motivation back again... however pestering him for updates will probably NOT get any motivation from any member on this site.
