Good lord, and I thought :45 was sweet... but unoptomized :44? Daaaamn.. look forward to the WIP!

Strangely enough, a glitch like this has recently been discovered in Age of Empires: Age of kings for the DS. I see that this glitch could be used for multple units for the offenseive purpeses. Good work.
What are you talking about, dude? As you probably know (since you started this topic) the discussion is on Fire Emblem not Age of Empires @_@ On Topic: This game has a very impressive TAS capability, especially (sp) due to the difficulty of juggling frames/turns as well as luck manipulation... I salute all who have worked on this, and any other FE tas <o \o

Giving it a shot, here I come! My completion time goal is 12:00. I figure SMB will be about 6 minutes, SMB2j maybe 9, SMB2 about 10 (because boss-fighting won't be too optimal).
Are you gonna be attempting to do SMB3 as well, or leave that out?

It seems that after I defeat Dark Matter (the boss coming when you have all Rainbow Pieces), you can choose from either sound, bonus or boss. Sound means you can simply listen to the soundtrack from the game. In bonus mode you go through all the bonus stages again, and in boss mode you get to face all the bosses once more, without any abilities. Would any of those be valid in this run? I think it would get repetive to go through the same stages all over again, but that's just me. Thoughts please.
Hmm, the sound thing would be pointless, imo. The bonus stages were already beaten once, so that would get repetative and the boss fights, too, were already completed once before, so there wouldn't be any new material there either. I think simply clearing out the main game is more than enough.

Wow, that was really impressive... leaps and bounds better than the last version I viewed (icr which one that was). It seems you have also mastered the nigh impossible physics manipulation for this game. Good work, flop!

Well, I havent gotten past the first 3 seconds of the movie yet, due to rewinding again and again to that woman getting punched in the ovaries by some guy. XD

That was pretty damned cool. Especially the Ken fight.
I really liked how Fei Long followed the sonic boom as he fell to his doom XD

BTW i was talking about NBA Jam Tournament Edition on the SNES :P since there are plenty of NBA Jams on plenty of consoles. In the option menu maybe we should add the Powerup Icons, the Juice Mode and the hotspots. That would IMO make it much more entertaining.
Don't forget the code to play as Clinton!

I was entertained by the run; quick footwork and expertly played vehicle missions were nice to view. Good work, and may the force be with you

I don't give SDA that much importance for me to waste money for that? They could just accept a video of me playing on the emulator, and I CAN give proof that it's not a TAS.
Nah, they won't accept anything on an emulator, which is too bad.

Edit: Maybe we could put one 3 pointer at the very end of each quarter.
Instead of a "regular" 3-pointer, why not put in a full court hail-mary? No one ever gets those suckers XD

Sort of. You put the timer at very fast. So its almost like 1 minute.

A fun thing to do would be have the final score be 12-0.
Why 12? I though something more like 120.
I think it would be difficult for the run to be accepted... I can pull off 120 pts per game easy, with a low (if any) score for the opponents, thus how would a TAS differ? You could always see if there would be an acceptance for showing off all those crazy "IS IT THE SHOES?! slam dunks/backboard-breaking stunts (love those things) by doing a concept demo or something.

I would not vote yes to a run that did that.
Agreed. The way I see it, the runs either come together or they dont, and pausing a game while another game is running is, IMO, cheating the challenge. I see what you are saying, and the problems autoscrollers cause, but thats why these runs are challenging, it makes the runner come up with new strategies or whatever that are to awe and amaze all viewers... and pausing doesnt amaze me :P

but I can't recall if in this topic it was determined if the final boss can be beaten without them.
I don't think you can, which was one of the reasons i was asking. I don't really mind though, it's still a run i'm looking forward to! Good luck with it.
Taken from http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/genesis/file/586469/27531 "[previous level walkthrough:] ...Once you destroy both arms, you win. The ending is a little different in each version of the game. However, if you have all the Chaos Emeralds read on! 14. The Final Fight This exists only if you have the seven Chaos Emeralds. It's you versus Robotnik's Final Weapon."

Where would we get the isos to make the tas', though
...from the copy of the game you legally own on disc? Doesn't the GCN use some proprietary DVD-like format that a DVD player can read with the right software or whatever? So PSX, PS2, GCN games all can be played.
Huh... learn something new everyday. Had no idea that was possible... well then, guess that "massive hill" was passed over quite easily. ^_^;

Where would we get the isos to make the tas', though (rehtorical[sp], mind you). I mean, it is a lot more difficult to find dumps of massive GCN iso's than any 1,000 kb snes rom or whatever. Unless EVERY movie was encoded to AVI and shared that way, a GCN TAS would be quite pointless due to the average internet user not being able to find or not being able to download a whole, clean, [!] GCN iso to watch the movie... the emulation is a small step for TASing, but easy to find isos are the bigger jump.. imho (To cover my ass i give a disclaimer: I am NOT asking for places to get the roms, as stated I was thinking hypothetically and I really dont care to know where I can get the roms or any of that jazz)

I have to agree with FODA, someone who has played this game will LOVE the video. I, on the other glove (^^), have never played the game and was not as amazed as I could have been had I played the game previously. Giving this a low yes vote.

It look like his head wrapped around from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen, thus when the screen stopped scrolling mario already had fallen to the bottom of the screen, and then it triggered the scene with the king... in theory atleast XD
Yeah, I'm quoting myself, so what? :P Ok, so I tried to cut Mario's head off after the second boss fight, but I couldnt get him to jump high enough >_> How did you get him to jump so high after the first boss fight? I tried a running jump to no avail, as well as bouncing off the boss... but of course I jumped right through him. If you can get him to wrap again, you may be in business.
