I didn't think FCEU would get any overhaul like this, but it turns out I'm wrong! Love all new things, especially the cheat search and the help files. But there's one thing: With previous versions I used to hold down frame advance to play the game in slow-mo, so that I could pause just by lifting my finger and not having to reach for anything. But now holding frame advance makes the game full speed instead of choppily slow. Is there some way for me to get that old "functionality" in this new version? Basically, can I get chop-chop-chop slowmotion (the equivalent of tapping frame advance quickly) by holding frame advance down? Also, please change the turbo sound to something a bit more serene. :)

It never ceases to amaze me why, when someone gets his grammatical mistakes corrected, instead of being grateful he instead gets offended. This seems to be an universal phenomenon, appearing in most cultures (at least western ones).
Some people regard it as the corrector questioning their intelligence. The "correctee" may also understand it as if the corrector has focused on the faults in the language rather than the message. Person 1: "We need a documant on wile-life perservation." Person 2: "No, see, it's 'document', 'wildlife' and 'preservation'." Person 1: "Just listen to what I have to say!" Also, I think that criticizing AKA's language is a bit below the belt. It's not like AKA is being unintelligible for fun, he's just not as good in English as some others here. So stop making fun of his language.

Thank you :) Also, since I'm ungrateful and demanding, could someone change the Memory Watch, please? There's a 12 symbol limit in the address name field, and it's a bit harsh, since you really have to get creative with naming sometimes. Also, some sort of way to run multiple scripts at once would be rad.

Speaking of which, I couldn't find any documents on what you can control with Lua and what commands there are to do it (such as frame advance, cheats et cetera). Are there any?

I just came here to post that what you're doing for FCEU is amazing! Scripting support is so damned cool, it's simply fantastic! I've been running the brute force bot for a few minutes now, and even though it might be simple (the Lua scripting), I'm very fascinated by it, maybe because I haven't seen anything like it. I might learn Lua, as well...

In what language is FCEU written, really? I'm interested in programming, but I haven't settled for what to learn yet. And I think learning how to modify FCEU and compiling it is a good exercise (and fun), so whether I'm going to learn C or C++ may be dependent on the source code of this program. Also, those who feel like it are encouraged to PM me about what language I should learn and why. Edit 10 seconds after posting: It's C, isn't it? I can't read properly. But still, go ahead and PM me.

Okay everyone (Boco, moozooh, me), it's time to stop being off-topic. The thread has derailed and I'm getting more weirded out by the minute.

On that note, my favorite inofficial Touhou manga is probably this. Had tons of fun reading it.

Anyway the series is great, not just the music. If you like bullet hell shooters, I really incredibly cannot reccomend higher than this series, especially 7 (Perfect Cherry Blossom), 10 (Mountain of Faith), and 9.5 (Shoot the Bullet).
I haven't played any of them (bullet hell shooters), I'm mostly interested in the nice-looking patterns. :)

The Touhou 8 single is about how one character's bullets look like suppositories, if that helps.

The song itself is about Alice Margatroid (3rd stage boss) falling in love with Marisa (one of the playable characters)
Just now I stopped liking the song. Why do fans (mainly fans of anime) have to be so weird? Can't they just be fans without making fan fiction about awkward love dramas? EDIT: I checked what 'perfect cherry blossom' meant, so I checked it and it's a bullet hell shoot-'em-up! Which is awesome. It still doesn't de-creepify that 'Alice <3 Marisa' song though.

That SMB3 song sounds quite a bit like a chant. And it's got hollow voices, which makes it kinda creepy. But it's really funny at the same time, so I don't know what to think of it.

Yes! There was no Big Bang because time couldn't have advanced from the Bang if there was no one there to observe it!
nfq wrote:
which is illogical ... if you think logically ... a finite universe is illogical ... not even logical evidence.
Just because there's (seemingly) no logic doesn't mean it's not true.
nfq wrote:
if you think logically, you can realize that a finite universe is illogical. for example, according to scientists space is made of nothing, so it can't be curved, so the space can't be limited.
By the way, your logic sucks.
nfq wrote:
what do you want me to explain about it specifically? what you're asking is kinda like: explain how the universe works? too broad question.
You just said that the generally accepted version of the universe sucks, but then in the same post you say that the question's too broad? Doesn't that make your "logical disproval" not-so-logical?
nfq wrote:
i know that einstein probably wasn't serious about spacetime curvature and all that, but there are so many people who take it literally as if it was fact.
Yes, I'm sure he was just kidding around. But you say "as if it was a fact". Can you prove to me that it isn't a fact?

The game engines do have some parts in common right?
I don't think so. My guess is that they're vastly different and finding a major similarity (except for the code that interfaces with the hardware) would be like finding a composite prime.
