I finally had time to do the lsnes tutorial and wanted to add subtitles to the video file. But somehow the subtitles are all disorted and impossible to read, I use a newly installed version of aegisub.

Here's a WIP with an improvement of 35 frames over my old WIP. However I lost 8 frames in the second last room of 4-2, but I think it should be possible to get rid of the loss. The improvements come only from better lag reduction, the first improvement was made in the 3rd room of 4-1, the biggest came from 3rd room of 4-2 with 31 frames.

It also won't work with traditional TASing. Basically you need to know the route in advance. I tried to create maps with auto stitcher, but failed at it. The biggest advantage of non-linear TASing is that the user don't have to memorize input, for example the TASer wants to add a shot after doing some crazy precise platform jumping the TASer can simply add a B press and test it for every frame, without worrying about the other inputs.

Interestingly, the #1 and #2 movies had the fewest rerecords out of the submissions; and the bottom two had the most. They may not be accurate, but it's a surprising coincidence.
The two last teams used TAS Editor, which boosts up rerecords. And some rerecords are not counted, because they get lost when exchanging input files.

Lsnes isn't that user-unfriendly as you think anymore, it was only the first release. But I do agree emulator choice should be free. I would prefer september for DTC6.

Can you help me?Example you tas on PSXjin emulator and movie's name "movie.pjm" When you sleep, you can't continue to TAS that game and you must turn of your computer .You save state that game(State TAS example:SHIFT+F1) and then tomorrow ,you turn on your computer and continue to TAS.How to load state(lastnight) and movie's name record ?Thank you
Newcomers questions are usually asked in The Newbie Corner. To resume TASing, load your movie, switch to read+write and load a savestate.

I would assume you can rewind to any frame, if it does that, but it doesn't.

There's a "Emulate saving each frame" option in the new movie window, what does it do?

I agree with this line. You could be the best gamer and not good at TASing. Gaming and TASing are very different from each other. Both "work" with games, but both have different goals in mind. Depending how your TASing looks like you can be more on the gamer (viewing the game like a gamer would do) or more the TASers (abstract the game) type. But I still would call TASers TASers. And personally I don't want be called a gamer.

Here are two little scripts for BizHawk I wrote to practice my coding skills. They're a bit messy, but whatever. The first one displays stuff on screen: User movie #20225548630088363. The other one generates input to follow a set angle: User movie #20225968871960280. It's very primitive and shouldn't be used for serious TASing yet. You can still add jumps manually while it tries to generate input. The coding can be improved, of course. I actually wanted to have a form where the user can input the angle before it brute-forces, but the form appears after frame-advance, which is to late. Edit: There's a small glitch in it, trying to fix it. Edit2: Should be fixed, the analog inputs randomly started to over/underflow for some reason.

I *think* the only reason NES Zelda 1 has all maps and compasses collected is that there's no text associated with the items.
That's not the reason. Maps and compasses are items which you keep forever, that's why.

There are no addons for TAS Editor. And editing colums is planned, but not implemented yet. The only emulator that has that feauture is lsnes, each player can be handled seperately.

The dungeon invertory should not be collected because it won't be used, but there are entertaining things to show of when collecting them.

For reference the NES "all items" TAS collects dungeon maps and compasses, but not the keys, because the normal keys are replaced by the magical key. Dungeon map screen should be complete, i.e. map, compass and boss key. So should the normal item and inventory screen. Infinite consumption items don't need to collected.

Are you saying you need a hex editor rather than a text editor for binary formats?
Well, you actually don't need, but the binary numbers contain also control text when interpreted as text, which isn't visible in text editors.

Is this on Dolphin? I don’t know how/if it works on Dolphin, but you just open the input file in a text editor, and if it’s written in a sensible format you should understand how to cut and paste input from it. It’s very probable that this won’t work for Dolphin input files, though. Works on PSXjin and DeSmuME, the 2 emus I’ve TASed.
This only works with text-based formats. dtm is binary and messy with a normal text edition. There is xvi32, for example.
