Because Spikey didn't want to do level 2, I needed to do it on my own. User movie #16354500279584866 This forbids game end glitch: Double tapping Start at the first level. And it forbids boss clone glitch: You can clone characters from the game by pressing A then B.

Finally watched it. It was very entertaining, fast paced and nice glitches. I vote yes.

Spikeystuffy told me I should have a look at level 1 at least. Altought I didn't improve anything I found that the game sometimes stops movement for 1 pixel. I don't know why this happens, but I think it has to do with enemies on screen (fake lag, not visible with red lag frames). I wrote a small script to spot the lag frames: Download q boy lag.lua

When you entered a level pause the movie playback, start the script and then resume the movie playback. The movie will automatically pause, when it detects a fake lag. Memory addresses are: 0x0088: X On Screen 0x0002: X Camera 0x0089: Y Position Maybe there are frames to save by avoiding the fake lag.

Looks like the rerecord counter only increase once for each savestate. When you load the same state multiple times the rerecord counter does not increase. Also the rerecord counter is saved into the savestates, which messes things heavily up. This is a bug and should be fixed.

So using 2 characters prevents the screen from scrolling left. The game needs to scroll left to finish the second level. There's no way to get rid of this glitch. It's only possible to use two character glitch when the game doesn't need to scroll left anymore. So here's the optimized one character version: User movie #16178475212249408 Spikey will work on level 2 I'm also interested what causes the game to glitch out by pressing buttons on the second controller, maybe someone can look at this.

Weird game. You can save time by pausing the game with Select before you exit a level. This saves 12 frames on each exit. Also jump punching doesn't slow down. :-) Using Start on the second controller is very odd. I can skip the first boss with it. The outcome of the Start press depends on the current section and the time Start is pressed.

Here's a WIP up to 3-4: User movie #16048999309112623 45.22 seconds ahead. I also improved the end of World 2 by 15 frame over the WIP I posted previously. World 3 is a lot nicer, up to now, when it comes to lag reduction, the screens are not that messy. The next two levels look hard, a lot of enemies there.

We don't need a tool for that. There's an option called enable background input for almost every emulator. That lets you send inputs to emulators which don't have focus. The best solution would be loading multiple roms into one emulator, but nobody coded this yet.

Great idea, but the only problem is to keep the same angle everytime :p
Does keyboard inputs make the angle optimization any better? No. The controller is still better, unless you have insanely shaky hands.

If there's no TAS plugin for Wii, you should use a controller instead of a keyboard. You can do more precise inputs with it.

I highly recommend you girls team up and work together on one TAS, not everyone on their own.

I did Level one: User movie #15703757086518265 Even if the run appears slower, it is still faster by at least 10 frames, because of different loading times. I haven't timed the gameplay improvenemt yet.

Very good. Yes vote. The boss fights look very optimized to me, the only thing you can do is dancing around when you wait for the orb to fall down, if it's possible.
