Wood Zone, Hidden Palace Zone, and Genocide City Zone - though to be fair Genocide City Zone is only a speculated name as far as I'm aware.
It was the WIP name for Cyber City Zone, which became Metropolis Zone Act 3. The assets for Cyber City Zone got recycled for The Machine in Sonic Spinball. THE MORE YOU KNOW! As for this run, I'm not entirely feeling it. Regular stages are okay, Special Stages don't look very tool-assisted. Personally, I'd rather see a run that ties things up as much as possible (which would add more Special Stages, as they are tiebreakers for regular stages).

The issue with my builds is that they have a ton of TASing crap, such as camera hack, hitbox and solidity display. I am guessing that he wanted a more normal emulator.
Yes, this. I wanted to enjoy the run without the camera hacks and such.

That's SVN 341. This run was made on SVN 351. That's why I uploaded a mirror of SVN 351.

I'm guessing GensHawk is a relatively recent addition, then. As I'm having trouble getting the imported movie to sync, I'm gonna have to actually get Gens.
There's no GensHawk (there is a Genplus-gx core, different emulator than Gens) but these runs have been in the works since before the core was even a thing. That, and the tools are Gens only at the moment. As for this run, holy shit I am crying after seeing Marble Garden. Tenative yes from me, let me just finish watching it first. EDIT: Finished watching, oh my god Sandopolis Act 2 and Hidden Palace. Yes vote!

World 2 is making me go "WHAAAAT" with all the game breaking and wrapping. Can't wait to see the level notes get fleshed out to learn what the hell is actually happening. Yes vote!

Chips Adventure should be done on the DOS version.
Can you explain why? They have the same physics, right?
Same physics as far as I know, but the graphics and music are so much better!
But the Lynx version is the original version of the game. The DOS version is a port by another developer.

FYI, if anyone considers doing Impossible Mission, you NEED to use the PAL version. The NTSC version has a fatal bug that makes it impossible to complete. Very fitting for the game name, but not so much for TASing.

Ports for different platforms are accepted, unless they're 100% identical. Haven't seen this, but I'd say Wily Wars and this one are identical to NES, being copies of those.
Eeeeehhhh... Wily Wars' version of Mega Man 1 does have some differences, aside from enhanced graphics and sound.
  • The water section of Ice Man's stage has completely different physics, behaving more like Mega Man 2 and 3.
  • Some platform movements have different timings.
  • Invulnerability from taking a hit will actually protect you from spike-related death.
  • Bugfixes!
HOWEVER, Rockman Complete Works is literally the NES games on a PSX disc, with an alternate version that has remixed music, navigational guides for newbie players, and quick weapon switching, but since the original version was selected... why did you use this instead of the actual NES ROM?

After watching both versions of the run, I've got to say that I find the Expert version more interesting. Sure it's not as fast as doing it in Easy, but you thoroughly embarass the game in the Expert run. Hmmmm...

I just don't know where else to ask about this, and it is driving me insane. I'm trying to play Dr. Mario 64 on Bizhawk, because it's the only N64 emulator I can find that actually plays games out of the box at the proper speed and resolution. However, there is a severe graphical issue with Dr. Mario 64 where the dropped pills are invisible. In the (painful to get into a readable state) Glide64mk2 documentation, it mentions that 'Render N64 frame buffer as texture' needs to be enabled to fix this... but this setting is not present or renamed to something else in the Bizhawk N64 graphic plugin settings window. What do I do? :(

"Arbitrary code execution" and "total control" are synonyms. So if you can use a glitch to end the game, but not make the characters dance polka across the screen, then it's not ACE.
I am greatly amused by the concept of the example you have given. It needs to happen.

While the arbitrary code execution run was amazing in its own ways, this does indeed trump it. Excellent job! Yes vote.
