Hmm, how many frames? Is it faster to manipulate seeds from the second pot instead of the first one? I presume it will save time anyway to get 5 new seeds. Just wanted to be sure if I needed to change the route or not, but I guess I'll stick to the one I have.

I've managed to do tricks in Link's Awakening and Donkey Kong Country which have a 1 frame possibility to success with, so 20 frames is a very long time ;).

Hmm, must have forgot that :O... Shall think through if I really haven't got a reason to it.... No, can't come up with a reason. Bah, stupid me... Now I need to remake the route a bit, hmm. I'll upload the fixed version soon... But yeah, jump over the holes with the Ricky then you can get rid of him and using a seed. You have 4 of them now, right? EDIT: By the way... In dungeon 3, in the room with the hands, do you think that you can manipulate two seeds from those two pots you need to push? As you see, I've calculated that you are able to manipulate at least one of them. But if you manage to get two seeds, that would of course save time. Oh, yeah... I had calculated so you should use one more seed somewhere in dungeon 3, that means you'll have one left to be used after Subrosian. Then you only need to remove one from the numbers all the time.

Yeah, I know Evilchen, I'm using it all the time while playing on console =). About the third lvl, that was a simple test I did in like mostly 1 minute. So it's not perfect, have saved 5 frames already in it.

New WIP time, for those who cares, up to the same place as Squall ended at. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4528/MauiMallardTASTompaLvl3.smv I'm currently 173 frames faster. EDIT: Did the third lvl as well, it's so short and easy... http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4528/MauiMallardTASTompaLvl3.smv Now I haven't got anything to compare me with, buhu ;D.

Looks good. I don't know anything about the game so I can't really make a "real" comment ;). It doesn't look too hard yet, hope you'll be able to make it.

Aha, haha. Yeah, I know that jumping sucks. I actually have been testing a few things ;). I do think that the menu can be 1 frame faster, after I changed it to Hard. Didn't try this enough I belive, hmm. EDIT: Ooops, did some wrong calculations, there shall be 78 frames faster, not 82=P.

You meant when I was jumping over the "torch-thing"? I had to be damaged by the green slime, as it takes less hp than the spiders, so I could be damaged by the falling pillars later. That's the fastest way I could do. Was that your only comment?=P

Another problem, lol... Those stupid pillars that fall down on you, because I'm faster in the beginning of the lvl I pass them without getting hurt. So I guess I have to slow down a little here, sucks. EDIT: Had to make a different way to pass them, lost me 9 frames. I managed to save 8 frames in the upper area. Here's a WIP of the first lvl, 82 frames faster than Squall. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4495/MauiMallardLvl1.smv

I was kind a close with my guess then :). Oh, I didn't know you were using your PSP. Well, too bad then. Would like to have a chat with you sometimes. Was wondering... Have you been using hex editing anything so far? If I found a small improvement, it'll be quite easier for you to fix it. I really appreciate that you take your time and do this one!

Hi E_alert =). Long time I saw you in here, heh. Vespa, yeah, I read in the Bomberman topic that you wanted a break from Zelda, no worries :). Just realised that I'm not done with the Pegasus Seed route for Ages yet, argh. I've only reached just after dungeon 5, lol. I... must... work... harder...! Dez: Was wondering if you would like to visit IRC sometimes so we can chat a bit with eachother? Will make it a bit easier for you to ask questions and such. I'm there quite often. 21%... hmm, you've soon got the Summer, right?

When you come back, Stef, you can take a look at this: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4458/Sword%2BShield.vbm It could maybe be useful somewhere:). I don't think I need to explain what's happening, heh. I'm going to see if you can obtain keys this way too. Might be able to skip the leaves... =). (Yes, you may kill me if I find it possible.)

To the beginning of the first lvl, I made it 20 frames faster than you. I maybe shall try a bit harder with this this time =). Have you got some tips for me? Things that's faster than other and such. Haven't tested anything myself yet, hardly. Just did the same things as you did in your run. Btw, did you reach anymore than the first two lvls? Like if you have half lvl 3 done as well or something like that. EDIT: Improved the start menu with 8 frames more, lol. Think I can shave off even more... EDIT again: Omg... I just can't make it to the lift the same frame as you... (First lift in the game...) I'm doing all the jumps before (From coming out of the door) exactly the same, but I'm always one frame behind you in the end anyway. This's starting to annoy me. 80 frames saved up to this part anyway.

Time to bump this topic! I presume you aren't working with it anymore Squall, am I right...? I tried to do it myself couple of weeks ago, was 17 frames behind to the first elevator, so I couldn't be arsed to do it anymore... I might go for a second attempt though, unless you are working with it already.

What emulator are you watching this with, Dragon? Using the latest or 1.7.2? 1.7.2 takes one frame less to start the game than 19.3. Didn't you read his comments before you replied?:O "Bringing up the "Save and quit" screen allows me to skip the ending message, the one telling me to climb the stairs." I think that was like 365 frames faster or something.

Well... I guess I can post the first lvl of Return of the Jedi ;D. The first lvl can be improved a bit. But in case someone (Tragedy perhaps) wanted to take the challenge.. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4430/Super%20Star%20Wars%20-%20Return%20of%20the%20Jedi%20%28U%29%20%28V1.0%29%20%5B%21%5D.smv And no, I'm not working with this anymore... Hardly anyway, I start playing the game sometimes but I don't do anything interesting.

Blame me, I made him redo a lot of parts :D. That increased his rerecords count quite a lot.

E_alert did some calculates about the movement speed with and without the animals. "For general travel, Moosh walks and flies at the same speed as Link's walking. Dimitri swims at Link's walking speed (though faster than both of Link's swimming methods), but walks on land slower than Link. Ricky walks fastest, but Link's running is still faster than that. " The text takes mostly 1-1½ seconds to skip. So I really doubt it will be worth it... Just jump off when taking the pegasus boots, that's the best.

Soulrivers has started to make an improvement of the glitched run. How much is it that can be improved more than, for example, this: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4317/Perfect.vbm Chef: He also spoke to Tarin from a different location, the same spot as in your run. Are there any more improvements? Something with the nightmare bosses maybe... EDIT: Btw, Chef, that's a small improvement you can hex edit to your run. You can take the sword from a few frames more to the left by pressing U+D+L+B instead of just udb. That will save you a little ^^. EDIT: Lol, my bad about the movie... I forgot that I had already spoken to the Owl before I did the trick. So you have to take the sword, go back a screen and then screen skip from the left side. Sucks. Nintendo had been thinking through this too clearly...

Nice thing with the hookshot to cancel the spin attack. I knew this was possible, just didn't think it was useful ;D. I haven't got any improvements to mention, as I can find... And by the way, you were right about the "perfect use". I has another error in my route. You'll have 0 bombs and 0 arrows in the end.
