Just to make it extra super special clear: ANY movie for ANY game from now on that is recorded with the wrong PAL/NTSC settings will be rejected immediately. Times will be adjusted 20% when comparing with previous runs that were recorded the wrong way. In other words, future movies for this game can use (E) rom and still obsolete this. The rules were recently updated to reflect this.

One way is to link them from Users.html. An automatic link on personal homepages probably woudn't hurt either, because the first impulse is to click the people on the "most rated movies" to see what they have rated.

I am very confused about where everything is located at the moment. The options for the rating (such as wether to hide them or not) should be on the ratings page. I wish there was a way to reach other people's rating short of going through their profile, which usually means you have to find a post they made, or do some magic on the ULR bar.

>Can Raccoon Mario kill Bowser with insane spinning? No. Also, a no-running movie for every mario game isn't a good idea. I'm sure you can come up with an interesting variant of some other game. I could write more about it, but I think I'll let it be.

>Damn, you're right. Should I replace the .fcm-file with a new one that includes this perhaps? Or does this thing matter? Can a judge give his feedback on this please? Yes, you should fix the movie file and submit the updated version to Bisqwit so he can replace it. I would also like to take the opportunity while I have your attention to point out that loose means to make something looser. When you are slower you lose frames (single o). :)

easterndragon: if you know of a way to improve this movie, then by all means tell us (or just Scumtron) how to do it, or improve it yourself. Just announcing it is, as you said, a bit unbelievable. :)

Curtmack: Have you watched the previous movies, and the mini-competition we had? I think there is a lot to learn from them. The optimal strategy for the miniboss is to get him to use his flame breath and still hit him continously with an item. If he breaks the windows you lose more time to lag than you win by being able to hit him with the spear. The items do not have the same damage. The axe is the strongest, but it's also slow.

I have 102% and wanted to keep it, but you just had to go ahead and spoil it. :(

>No enemies are exactly the same in the harder modes there is more of them and the harder ones appear earlier on and in groups, boss fights are exactly the same there is no damage or ammo difference either. This sentence can either be interpreted as (commas added): 1) "No enemies are exactly the same in the harder modes, there is more of them and the harder ones appear earlier on and in groups, ..." The enemies are different from each other in hard mode. No enemies at all are the same. 2) "No, enemies are exactly the same, in the harder modes there is more of them and the harder ones appear earlier on and in groups, ..." The enemies are the same, but more numerous. From the context I think it is 2), but in any case, please use comma or period to separate your statements. Anyway, if I understand you correct now, the movie would be smoother on lower skill setting. Since PC runs use the lowest skill setting, I think this would be a good idea for a future version.

AKA: I'm not sure how to interpret what you just wrote. - Does more enemies cause more lag, or more skipped frames, or both? - Do enemies fire less often in easy mode?

I'm not sure what you were thinking here Vatchern, and if you actually find this movie entertaining yourself. Is this a serious submission? I see no difference from playing normally, and nothing spectacular happens. You don't even control the goalie yourself. I vote no.

>The reason why I use "E rom" is that I think "E rom" is a little faster than "U rom".But I never have any problem, why you have some strange problem? The E rom should be played with "PAL Emulation" on. It will then run at the same speed as U rom. I explained this in your previous submission, and suggested that you should use U rom next time, but perhaps I was not clear enough.

>For the final submission, would it be accepted to edit the VBM file for the actual rerecord count? Yep. It is nice if it is at least in the vicinity of the correct number.

laughing_gas: Probably the same point as voting yes when it's already accepted. (Figuring out this point is left as an exercise for the reader.)

>or do you see possible improvements? I mentioned a 1-2 minute improvement a few posts up. In any case, SMS runs are not accepted here at the moment, so it cannot be submitted anyway.

>The current Blizzard dev team has no experience within the past 5 years that applies to anything other than MMORPG tweaks and expansions. Well, when they made WoW they had not experience with anything other than making RTS fixes, and it seemed to work out fine anyway.

Besides the wobbling, this is so much better and more comical than the last one, so Yes for you. :)

>Will you able to encode the video in 190% brightness though? Yes. Or at least I imagine so, tests will be underway as soon as I can coerce someone into doing them :)

Dammit: thanks for helping out, it is much appreciated. I will see what we can do with it. >I realized while making these that subtitles could easily be abused, for "editorializing" the movie. (I of course didn't do this.) It raises the question whether the duty of making them should fall on the submitter or someone else, for future movies. Yes, they can be misused. Supplying extra subtitles has been an option for a while, but very few (noone?) has taken the opportunity to use it, I think all extra subtitles so far has been added by the encoder. They are not used "as is" without checking and editing them, in any case.

kay: when you have been here for all of a week, perhaps acting like you know better than everyone else isn't the smartest thing to do? Not that postcount and registration date has anything to do with being right, but it's a fair assumption that people who have been around for a while know how things work. Just a friendly tip from a judge (who happens to know that adelikat, JXQ and moozooh are right).

Chamale: that's not how the 21-frame rule works. In this game, if you finish a level 10 frames sooner, the next level starts 10 frames sooner. In SMB, if you finish 10 frames sooner, the next level does NOT necessarily start 10 frames sooner, unless it crosses a 21-frame boundary. (And then it starts 21 frames sooner.) I don't think slowing down in this game is okay just because the timer shows the same number. The movie will be slower. In SMB, the movie will not actually be longer.

Neofix: Why do you take the photo of Goblin? It looks like it slows down the score-counting screen, but I could be wrong.

Not bad, but not very interesting either. I think you need to press start one more time to get the end demo (that's what I did), but perhaps I just didn't wait long enough.

A thread for a new game requesting a movie to be done is quite alright, I think, but shouldn't expect much to happen. The best way to get it started is to do it yourself and post something here about your progress. :) Also, welcome!
