Well, this was unexpected. I had a lot of complaints on the old run, so I was planning to make my own attempt for it (any year now...) To me 4601 rerecords sounds a bit low, but perhaps it's good anyway. The 00 shuriken thing was discussed last time and there was no real conclusion on it's be or not to be (I still think it's unneccesary). For comparison, the old run was 26:53 - almost 2 minutes longer. EDIT: It's a lot better than the last one, that's for sure. One thing that stood out was the miniboss on level 2, and the robot miniboss on the fire level. I'm pretty sure they can both be killed before they go off screen for the first time. Another was the double jumps after the wall jumps. Those slow you down a good deal, and at least in the first level you didn't need the extra height. In the trap house I didn't understand why you didn't use the high-jump jutsu one room earlier. Did you try both ways? On the first boss, I think you can move right after he races left, and he will appear on the screen earlier. But I'm not 100% sure. Still, this had a lot of nice ideas. The double jutsu at third boss for example. I liked how you spent your time during the auto-scrolling sequences. I'm not sure how to vote.

Hhhhh... I have downloaded Matroska Splitter and ffdshow. Which crashed the first time I tried to install it, but a different directory worked. (It refused to overwrite/register ffdshow.ax the first time. I've had an identical problem at another computer.) Still no go. WMP shows the movie length as 4:45 instead of 1:51, there is no video at all and the sound is garbled. I'll gladly take 11 MB (or 50 MB) extra file size over this mess.

It also might not crash. What's your point?

Gens doesn't have repeat frame advance either. I usually run at 50% speed and unpause-pause when I want to advance a few frames quickly, the result is pretty identical. You could try that with FCEU.

The jumping can definately be improved, probably the enemy killing too. There are some small shortcuts that I though of (over the bushes outside the first temple for example), but nothing major. I will love seeing Greenmaze getting run trough, I hate that place.

I'm in on this if anyone decides to make it. I know nothing about any sequence breakers though, I didn't even know you could skip the key in the first dungeon. It was very nice seeing exactly who you needed to talk to in Mercator, I always wandered aimlessly talking to everyone twice until the girl appeared.

Did you try all the usual stuff - recording with 3-button controllers, different sound frequencies? Does it desync even if you record with no sound at all?

Those two files crashes WMP when I open them, and even crash Explorer when I try to go to the directory where I put them. That's nasty :/ Can someone tell me what's going on (both in with the crashes and the tricks)?

It would be a black screen if he didn't load any ROM at all, that's what I meant.

Did you load the proper ROM before selecting CPU/Play Movie?

Testy testy. Seems to work fine. Probably you checked the box which says "Disable BBCode in this post" by mistake.

I actually half-understood all the tricks used in the latest movie. Until now. :(

Come on now, don't be an ass about things like that. There are people from different parts of the world who have difficulties learning English.Americans, for example.

>I'd like a fast-as-possible fighting game run, even if it meant doing exactly the same thing every fight. Where's the fun in that? I like it very much the way it is.

I pointed it out before too. But I actually like it better this way. Looking at someone failing minigames and missing bonuses for half a minute instead would be pretty boring.

>Of course, I don't think there's a way to emulate a power cycle in FCEU, so it's a moot point as far as the run is concerned anyway... I thought TheAxeMan did exactly that in his FF1 run.

I've been thinking about this a little. Even though I think the numbers of forums is getting pretty big, this is a good idea. The undecided submissions often get buried in the rejects and the canceled ones.

>Then it will be the most efficient way to remove your girlfriend's bra. Ahem. Real gamers do not have girlfriends. They live their single lives until age 29, when they vanish in a puff of loneliness. Everyone knows that. It's okay to think about the most efficient way to remove the bra from any imaginary potential girlfriend (in your view, not hers), video game girl (with oversized mammary glands), or underaged hentai manga babe, though the latter's bra usually does not need to be removed.

Ferret Warlord> Ooh. I guess this isn't the time to have an argument about religion, right? Thought so. :( Well, you just go and have fun for two years, and we can have it when you get back. :) I also like emoticons. FODA> About ziplock, i fear the worst... you know what i mean. I don't know what you mean.

xebra has bet his honour, half his nose and one leg on that this run will be done in two years. So yeah. 2007 sounds about right. That is, unless we can trick/lure/force/beckon/petition/bicker/whine Ouzo into doing it. :D

Fourthed. I think a few WIPs could improve the quality drastically in this game, just as it did with Viper's full SMW run.

Nah. The movie doesn't aim for speed anyway, it aims for entertainment, and choosing the fastest possible route wouldn't help a lot in that department. Not to mention it would be a whole lot of extra work, if it's even possible.

Hypothetically (not saying in this case because I haven't watched the movie), can a movie publication be revoked, or are all judges desicions final?
