put links to the rom or something. I'm not going to search those clumsy rom sites everytime a new speedrun is out. or (much much much) better yet, use avi.

This video sucks, learn to be good with talent. Abusing glitches isn't a talent. I rate it worth nothing. You hacked the game, :It knows when your on a item and you hit a ceiling. You used a program to hack it. SO SCRAM!

if I knew who actually made the photo to begin with, i'd give due credit...but, at least I found out it is quite a simple trick to pull off...it is like a magic trick...mysterious and cool, till you figure out how it is done, and how utterly easy it is!

I believe http://kontek.net/davidwonn/nes.html defines the glitch gigafrost speaks of...as for image leeching, I am unaware of any statement that I am not allowed to use that particular photo...if the site I got it from would have said, please don't use this photo...then I wouldn't have...but, since it did not...I didn't think it would be a problem...Sue me!

gauntlet IV for sega genesis is superb...and, not only does it have an arcade port of the original gauntlet, but also a quest mode, which is pretty involved...and pretty kewl music all around, as well...the only reason the gauntlet 2 ever did well for nes is because it has 4 player support...that is it!

Star? Getting the Hadoken would be hardcore. I had my hopes all up when he went back to Chill Penguin's stage. Is there any way to get the heart tank in Boomer Kuwanger's stage without using Boomer Kuwanger's weapon? If not, that might completely dash any hopes of seeing a Hadoken-Shoryuken run. You'd have to play almost the entire level over again.
I got it once with a trainer on the PC version. It'd take some mighty glitching to get it. I think I ALMOST got it ONCE on the PC version by using the glitch that let's you jump-dash off a wall and get some pretty good distance.

I heard of this game as being mostly unknown so I flashed it to my F2A and found myself playing it for several hours until I beat the game. It's truly awesome.

The question is... does anyone dare to do all three SNES MMX games at once? What other wacky combinations can be made?

Just to clear up the reason BitComet was getting banned from private trackers months ago: http://www.p2pforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=11209 Basically it was because 1. It broadcasted falso stats 2. It opened up private torrents to others Apparently these had been fixed in BC 0.59. Otherwise I seem to use BC 0.59 here with no problems.

(1) Aran Ryan------------0'05"35------0'08"45------+ 0'03"10 Hello Phil, I have Aran Ryan listed as the fastest beaten in the game. Finding the strategy again is hard though. The time was figured out when I first got this game many years ago on my SNES console. It was done by my brother over and over again, yet I was never able to do it, which is why I cannot remember the strategy exactly. I also didn't think it'd be the fastest time anyone's ever beaten him so I didn't write down any strategy. I'm not sure if this is possible on emulator, because they're might be differences between console and emulator. But after the first KO Aran Ryan would get up and then fall down again and you'd win. This was not done with any cheating devices as we don't own any for the console so that is not the case. ____________________________________________________________ As for what I can remember from the strategy and what I've been able to piece together using the final time and probabilities. 27 bars on the bottom to get to full power. 4 bars per regular punch and 7 per counter. The 8.45 strategy uses 7 punches then the KO. 3 body blows and 4 jabs. The time freezes at 5.11, then the KO punch takes it to 5.15. Now for a final time of 5.35 the dizzy frozen time before this could of been 5.31 (it was console, may of not been perfect) From what I can tell about the timing system jabs are slower than body blows, (I'm not sure exactly the time between either, you'd be a lot more accurate with this) So from what I remember from the fight and the most probable solution, the fight is all jabs, 7 jabs make the time way too slow and I haven't found a 7 jab comination that makes him get dizzy. So what I believe is that it was 5 jabs, then 1 delayed jab to counter him which would get you to full power, the time would be there around what it needs to be. The problem is, is that he won't get dizzy after this, and I'm not sure if you hit him after you counter him or what the best combination for this is. Lastly if you could tell me some tricks that you know of how to get Aran dizzy using jabs, I'd try all the combinations with jabs to try and find the right formula.

You can output gifs with mplayer with "-vo gif89a", but it is not extremely well tuned. Example: mplayer mymovie.avi -vo gif89a:15:mymovie.gif

just know this is one of the time attacks that I so fully appreciate...I can watch every second of it without getting bored...I must have logged in hundreds of hours on this cartridge in the day! love pretty much anything gauntlet related...if you like gauntlet games...I would strongly recommend...not as a time attack recommendation...but, just as a game to check out...Dungeon Explorer for turbografx-16...closest thing to gauntlet you will ever see...again...I can't say enough how much I love this time attack...other than this one...my absolute fave time attack is the blaster master one...so, this and that...are topmost in my collection of time attacks now...:) Hint, I would love to see Mission Impossible done...

was a very pleasant surprise to check in on this site last night to find that the gauntlet movie had finally been published...you must have been working on this and planning it for a very long time...I really see no room for anyone to complain about this one...being it is such a special kind of game...it is very difficult to make precise maneuvers in the levels due to the neverending barrage of enemies and fire...it was interesting watching how sometimes you'd run into enemies, and other times, you'd simply attack...also funny how you rubbed it in by draining your energy on purpose...I think you'd probably do an excellent job if you were to undertake the game Mission Impossible! definitely your territory...

Back around 1990 or so FOX aired a series pilot called something like "World's Greatest Mysteries". It had the usual fare - pyramids, face on mars, etc. The real kicker was that it featured the minus one world in SMB. They showed a thirty second clip of somebody getting Mario through the bricks to the warp pipe and into minus one world. "But once you're there, how do you get out?" The announcer asked. "Why, that's yet another of the world's greatest mysteries - and we'll show you how to do it on next week's show!" Unfortunately there were only about 12 people in the whole world watching the show, so it got canned real quick, and there never was a second episode. Apparently the secret was lost with it...

I don't know who started using the term "time attack", probably Morimoto himself, but it's wrong and misleading.
The term goes back to at least the late 1980's; at least, that's what we always called them. Back then we'd hook our consoles up to the VCR and tape our speed runs. We'd make copies of the "Time Attack Tapes" and trade them at school. I still have a few decent runs of MegaMan 2, 3 and Sonic the Hedgehog that I got back in 1991 or so.

I noticed that rapid fire isn't as effective in this game as it is in the other MM games. Was the invulnerability period from arm cannon shots increased by a few frames or something?
