I have wanted to play this game for a long time, but I haven't done that yet. I loved the story of it ;) I had no idea that Cleopatra was in desperate need for a pizza. Anyway. I don't know how the physics is in this game but it looked like you could have done some things better. Cutting corners at special places caught my attention and also, as Bisqwit mentioned, it looked like a lot of enemies could have been killed better. Wouldn't jumping be better in most situations? Because it looks like you would want forward motion even though you have to wait for doors/passages to open. I can't say this for sure but that was what I thought of. I'm glad I finally got to watch this game though. Voting yes.

Hah!? Was there even a ~26 minutes run? Else I've apparently totally missed that. Awesome anyway.

Is that for the 16-star run? Sounds incredible! The run at SDA is on ~26 minutes or something like that?

I think you can pick it up at any time. Maybe some luck manipulation or planning has to be done but as I remember it you can get it "whenever". So if some weapon is better until the second last boss I think one could go for that one. And this should be my 1000th post ;)

Ya. The dagger should be the fastest, but it's not the most powerful. I think the lance is pretty powerful, and the fire maybe? But on the other hand they are pretty slow. And on yet another hand it might do little difference since the speed of the weapons shouldn't really matter until the bosses.

Allright. Anyone up for solving these ones? 1) Prove or disprove: (n/2)^n = omega(n^n/2) 2) Prove or disprove: log(n^n ) = theta((log n)^ n) 3) Let f(n) and g(n) be asymptotically nonnegative. Prove or disprove: f(n) + theta(g(n)) = theta(f(n) + g(n))

That could be the situation. But two things makes me wonder. 1: Other tricks works fine that David Wonn has listed. The floor trick for example. Someone posted this at IRC: http://theshizz.org/forum/index.php?s=344d04f6d7e722dd8096b5de53369953&act=ST&f=8&t=13751 and we not that it works. 2: The fact that you sometimes is brought back to town disprooves that it's entirely impossible to get somewhere.

Ya. But I also hopes it can be done. The floor-trick is possible but it's hard to perform.

The guy at David Wonns site said that he did this without completing the last two mansions, that should mean the first three is completed. I have tried this another ~1000 times after mansion three is completed but without success.

I've tried this trick maybe 2000-3000 (allright, maybe not _that_ many myself, but it still is loads of attempts) times myself, but as Bisqwit and BisqBot has helped out I'm starting to fear that it might be (hopefully not) impossible to do. It's the hardest "unconfirmed" trick I've ever tried anyway.

Lift up Toad, carry him to the door to the stairs up and then jump through as with the rabbit! Then just perform that insane sliding-backwards-at-ninja-speed through the doors and problem solved! Or maybe not.

When someone takes on this as a TAS I'd vote for three runs! 1. A 16-star run 2. A 70-star run 3. A 120-star run It sure would be much Mario 64 but the game is great and seeing those three movies would also be great! Atleast I think so.

I second to Bisqwits post. However, I really want to see this run so I wish you good luck!

Aha! So there was a reason for it ;) Anyhow. I'd still love to see something else but the floor, even though it might be slightly faster. I was actually amazed over that when I played the game, how similiar some areas are to the movie. For example the stairs in the second level when entering the last room where Trevalyan is. The stairs are the same!

I used to play GoldenEye VERY much when I was younger and I found the speedrun of the whole game very impressive. It's damn hard at times. Anyway, I don't know if they looked down at the floor for any special reason but I'd like to see more of the levels/enemies instead of just the ground zooming by. If of course, someone is up for it eventually.

Mario 64! And Lylat Wars (Star Fox), but since this is an auto-scrolling game I vote for getting the highest score throughout the universe.

Cool! I had no idea. Well, how bout playing them after the regular game ends? I'd vote yes on that. Or before maybe, so one could stop the movie when it ends.

What are the pro levels? That's something I haven't heard of. Thus, I personally is very interesting in seeing them.

Isn't this more focused on style than speed? Anyhows. I really liked both the runs, but I actually prefered the Zangief one because that huge russian guy has more movements to show off. Ken got kinda repetitive after awhile.

If there is a sort of an "official" translation of the game, would it be that bad to use it? Since it's a RPG the text makes a whole lot to the story. I assume that in a TAS one would just get rid of them as soon as possible, but I wouldn't mind be able to reading the conversations anyway. I don't remember much of the game except small parts of it and the last boss, so to follow the story would be nice. One alternative is to learn japanese I guess but.. well, I don't have that time right now =/

Also I'd prefer to see Gradius 2, since I think Morimotos Gradius 1 movie already is very good.
